The AP reports that Republican David Jolly narrowly defeated Democrat Alex Sink in the special election for Florida’s 13th District that was carried by Obama in 2008 and in 2012. The vote was Jolly with 48.5 percent to Sink's 46.6 percent. Although political experts predicted that Alex Sink would have this election in the bag, Sink could not carry her home district. Could one of the reasons be that Florida lost hundreds of millions of dollars, billions in pension funds, lost under Sink's watch.
Both candidates raised and spent small fortunes. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz has her work cut out for her. She's not a happy camper today. In typical Wasserman-Schultz fashion, she managed to put a positive spin on the loss by saying. "The Dem Loss in the Special Election Shows GOP Weakness." God, we can always count on Debbie.
