Oklahoma is the first musical written by the duo of Rodgers and Hammerstein and it takes place In the territory of Oklahoma just after the turn of the century.
It opened in 1943 on Broadway. The movie came out in 1955 starring Gordon MacRae and Shirley Jones. There must be a few of us around who remember the movie.
