The bunch of crap is not particulalry what Kevin D. Thompson wrote but the entire farce of The Gulfstram Hotel and Hudson Holdings. Mr. Thompson gets his points from the City.
Oh, Hudson Holdings hasn't done a damn thing to this property. And even if anyone believes their excuse that there is a lawsuit against the city on the heights Charter Amendment for its inaction, it does not affect the existing hotel that is grandfathered. It does not affect the out buildings that could be demolished. It does not influence Hudson holdings for its 100% neglect of this property and a big blight in our downtown. Trash and graffiti and vagrants.
Is this notice a joke?
Even our city attorney wants to blame the Petitioners for Hudson Holding's bull. Read the crap...
The ONLY thing being maintained at the Gulfstream is our city planter that was moved there. And the ONLY thing that is frivolous is Hudson Holding's constant excuse for the big stall.

The law suit is the crap in this whole thing. Take away the stupid legal issues over a few feet a height and lets see what these folks do. You guys are giving them the excuse to do nothing and their ultimate goal is to tear the place down. You are helping them achieve that goal. Wake up and smell the coffee.
Thanks for being a part of the BS.
I would doubt seriously if anyone now believes that Hudson Holdings bought this property to actually renovate the existing hotel. It was all about flipping it. It was all about demolishing the existing hotel. It was all about the city and their historic board catering to developers/investors and giving them everything they wanted.
I want the city to code them. Why aren't they?
Sometimes people standup for what's right. Thanks Jo-Ann, Lynda and Roseanne. Whether you win or lose, you are heroes for all of us who told the city through our vote what heights we wanted in that area. And this Trio is flat wrong in what they did by not honoring the vote.
11:41 try to understand what I am about to write. The people in Lake Worth voted overwhelmingly to have a height limit in this part of the city. YES PEOPLE ACTUALLY VOTED ! This was put into place long before Hudson Holdings slithered into our town. The owners of the Gulfstream were told all about the height limits when they bought. I guess Hudson Holdings doesn't think the will of the people in Lake Worth matters.Mayor Pam Triolo,Commissioner Scott Maxwell and Commissioner Andy Amoroso certainly have no problem spitting all over the people of Lake Worth.
The Gulfstream building is grand fathered in . Hudson Could have been working on that bldg. for years. NOTHING IS STOPPING HUDSON HOLDINGS from renovating the Gulfstream Hotel. NOTHING!!!!
Ask Delray what they think of Hudson Holdings. Delray said no thanks to the crap job Hudson Tried to pull. I guess Delray Commissioners and planning boards still have some honest ,law abiding people on them.
Lynn, how many code violations have you called in on the property? As you are aware, each and every violation called in must be investigated and if it is found to be an actual vilation, the owner is cited and must bring it into compliance within a relatively short period of time of face the magistrate.
If there is a valid building permit in force, it does give them some protection but not for graffiti and general debris, overgrown and many other violations. Once the complaint is called in, it is given a number which you can follow up on to see what was determined. 586-1652
As for the lawsuit, one was filed and delayed a beach project. It was also filed against the city and not the developer. Information gleaned in the depositions was enough to cause the city to pay the "flim-flam man" close to $2 million to go away. After all our expenses, it was more like $2.5 million. All because some do-gooder wanted to make a name for himself.
This may not be exactly the same circumstances but close enough. If there was no lawsuit, Hudson would have no excuse and would have to perform at some point. If this is ANYTHING like the Greater Bay boondoggle, we are in for another large payout. Let the depositions begin.
All I can say is thank God there was a lawsuit against Greater Bay.
It was Glen Torcivia's advice to settle with the flim flam man. This was a contract that NEVER should have been signed in the first place. Thanks Retha Lowe and all you fools back then.
Thanks for your code knowledge. There are no cases of which I am aware but they would go after a sitting commissioner in a New York minute.
Hudson Holdings is using the excuse of a lawsuit for doing the right thing here. As said, they never had any intent to renovate that hotel as it exists today. They want to knock it down and build to 65 feet.
It was widely held that IF Greater Bay had to try to get financing for the project, they would have failed bigtime and would have folded like a cheap suit. It was precisely the lawsuit that allowed him to rake in the big bucks.
My point is that we seem to be following the same old play book. Let's sue 'em! Show 'em who's right.
I'd like to see where Hudson would not be able to get financing for a project because of a lawsuit THEY are NOT a party to. I've heard it and now it is in print in the PB Post. The city has given them the go-ahead to build to their heart's content. They've been given the green light to demo the two buildings and I saw they were trying to give the historic structure to anyone willing to move it.
So there may be a lot of smoke being blown up someone's skirt but I think you are on the wrong track. The city needs to pressure them to sh(&*& or get off the pot. Lawsuit or no lawsuit.
Hudson Holdings bought the Gulfstream as a tear down. The land is more valuable than the bldg. Lake Worth officials agree and are helping Hudson Holdings move forwards with demolition.
You are right Hudson Holdings never planned on fixing the Gulfstream up, it was a
flip job to make money,it was an easy deal and the Lake Worth Officials were probably
aware of it. If these people who want to see tall buildings, then move to West Palm Beach, you can see a lot of that and it's getting worse.Lake Worth is an unique little townto live in, why not keep it a quiet and unique town. It is sad we have such a developers City Manager and Commission. I moved to Lake Worth because of it being a small City with a beach and pool. Don't let's ruin it.
Putting up a hotel a lot shorter that the buildings right next to it will not make Lake Worth less quaint. Stand at the corner of Lucerne and B street and let's talk about how "low rise" we are. No one is advocating for "tall" buildings.
A hotel in our hotel district will make Lake Worth more quaint and more of a destination than it is now.
Do you believe in the right to vote? The people spoke and they want 45 feet there. It is your opinion only that going higher would still keep it quaint. This is not only about the hotel but all of the property around there that is zoned residential right now. You want to make this entire area commercial.
If you look at the future land use map, you'd see that the area is and was planned out with the core area meant to be more dense and with most of the buildings in that core area taller, the addition of a hotel, which is the only structure in the city that can go higher than 45' and is limited to the "hotel district", the area that is now residential would always be residential.
Put the lawsuit aside, put the heights referendum aside. Why is anyone allowed to let their property be such an eyesore in this town. If my property looked like this or your property looked like this, we would have code enforcement all over us.
There were code issues on the property before the lawsuit and its only gotten worse, I don't understand why HH gets such special treatment. Oh wait, how much did HH contribute to various campaign funds???
