Comment Up
Well, we're outsourcing various departments now so why not hire a company to erect our Christmas Tree? These guys were busy at work today.

Drew Martin running for Vana's PB County Commission seat
Comment Up
Environmental activist Drew Martin, twice elected to the Palm Beach Soil and Water Conservation District board, has opened a 2016 Democratic campaign for the Palm Beach County Commission seat that Shelley Vana is leaving because of term limits.
Drew and his wife Christine live in Lake Worth.
Explaining why he wants to run, Drew said, "Someone needs to be on the Palm Beach County Commission who respects the residents in the county--someone who listens to the people and cares about their needs and not be in the pocket of developers. I am that candidate."

Trump to be protested in Georgia today?
Comment Up
It's been reported that Trump will be protested by the former mayor of Macon, C. Jack Ellis. His administration was accused of misusing government funds by the United States Attorney. "Mayor Ellis converted to Islam at one point, but seems to have abandoned that and claims affiliation at a Baptist church. He once pledged solidarity with Hugo Chavez. The man is a former used car salesman."
This is an area with a bad economy, lots of poverty and lots of crime. Mayor Ellis got rid of the gang task force, which has led to resurgent gang activity."
But I guess Mr. Ellis doesn't want to make America Great Again or perhaps it's just his little part of the world that he doesn't want infected by a loud mouth Republican who tells it like it is.

I Hate Hamlet now playing at the Lake Worth Playhouse
Another "winner" at The Lake Worth Playhouse!
I Hate Hamlet
Paul Rudnick
A young and successful television actor relocates to New York, where he rents a marvelous, gothic apartment. With his television career in limbo, the actor is offered the opportunity to play Hamlet onstage, but there’s one problem: He hates Hamlet. His dilemma deepens with the entrance of John Barrymore’s ghost, who arrives intoxicated and in full costume to the apartment that once was his. The contrast between the two actors, the towering, dissipated Barrymore whose Hamlet was the greatest of his time, and Andrew Rally, hot young television star, leads to a wildly funny duel over women, art, success, duty, television, and yes, the apartment.
“…fast-mouthed and funny…It has the old-fashioned Broadway virtues of brightness without pretensions and sentimentality without morals.” —Village Voice.
“…unapologetically silly and at times hilarious…affectionately amusing about the theatre…” —NY Times

The Syrian Refugees
This graphic was used because not only is it funny,
Obama is using our Statute of Liberty to justify the
resettlement of Refugees that can't be vetted
and 30 of our states do NOT want them for
obvious reasons.
resettlement of Refugees that can't be vetted
and 30 of our states do NOT want them for

Why is it that our Leader in Chief NEVER gives the American people the truth? What is his angle?
"... the humanitarian argument of 'rescuing' persecuted Muslims from ISIS also does not hold water, because the most persecuted of all people groups in the Middle East are the Christian minorities being hunted and killed by ISIS in what many are calling a genocide. The Obama administration never mentions them, and has only brought 53 Syrian Christians so far to America as refugees, compared to more than 2,100 Syrian Muslims."
WND also says that the resettlement contractors are getting paid $2,000 a head and that they get to keep $500 of that. It is mostly men being resettled.

Debbie, just keep on "doin" it
The DNC is in financial trouble. Debbie-Wasserman Schultz is not talking. The DNC is spending more than it is taking in from contributions. But is this a surprise? Democrats always SPEND more than they have but this time, they can't print up more money.
Submitted by RepublicanConscience on November 28, 2015 - 6:23am at Sunshine State News:
I think that her [Debbie Wasserman-Schultz] condition is systemic throughout the Democrat Party. The top-down leadership is killing them financially when every candidate must stand by the Terrorist-in-Chief that is the head of the Democrat Party.
Racism was practically non-existent until Obama hit the fan. Now we have race riots everywhere and they are not caused by white people. Obama is the Pied Piper leading the DemocRATS.

Ben Carson heads to Jordan
Comment Up
You have to give him credit--what better way to make a correct assessment and come up with a rational solution than visiting the Mid-East first-hand.
Dr. Ben Carson boarded a flight to the Middle Eastern nation of Jordan late on Thanksgiving to embark on a tour of Syrian refugee camps there on Friday, he told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview before the trip.
The tour–which Carson is taking so he can learn more about how to solve the refugee crisis by resettling Syrians throughout the Middle East, rather than bringing any refugees to the United States of America or placing more in Europe–means the world-leading neurosurgeon is the first 2016 GOP presidential candidate to tour refugee camps in Jordan.

Obama Corrupting Democracy?
(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch-- announced that it filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia seeking records related to letters sent by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to current green card holders urging individuals to become naturalized U.S. citizens prior to the 2016 election (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (No. 1:15-cv-01702)). The lawsuit was filed on October 16, 2015.
In April 2015, President Obama’s “White House Task Force on New Americans,” issued a strategic action plan to help millions of green card holders become U.S. citizens. Immigration Services is reportedly reallocating vast resources away from its “Electronic Immigration System,” a computerized system designed to facilitate national security and criminal background checks, to a campaign of letters to all nine million green card holders urging them to naturalize before the 2016 election. The Obama administration push includes federal funding for leftist groups that advocate for illegal aliens and amnesty.
Read about it... and the corruption that is going on in our country to solicit Democratic voters at the expense of safety of the American people.

So, will the incumbents once again have a free ride and slide into public office unchallenged less than four months from now?
Let's face it; it's a crappy job--meeting one or two times a month deciding on policies and city business--and don't forget all those seminars to fabulous places like Nashville, Washington D.C and Key West--car allowances, cell phones and medical insurance. Maybe the perks are worth the annoyance from residents when they have to listen to their public commentary. Heck, they don't even have to return phone calls or e-mails.
I was talking with 90 year old John Jordan yesterday who is so mad that he said he might run just to make points. He is a dear friend and a serial candidate. I hope that there are others out there with the enthusiasm and the stamina to take on the challenge of democracy. There is a lot of work to do.
This city's slum, blight and crime issues have not improved. One thing that has been publicly noticed is this commission's attraction to development and Hudson Holdings...allowing heights in our downtown and their willingness to ignore the vote and the law. And what about pouring $11 million into the Park of Commerce? Whatever happened to the pothole emergency? This commission lost that vote by 25 and now they have found other ways to re-do infrastructure rather than taxing you for 34 years.
It is extremely difficult finding anyone who wants to run for office. No one wants to get beat up 24/7. But one thing that we do know, we desperately need elected officials looking out for the residents here--honoring the will of the people and not giving excuses and arrogantly believing that they are smarter than all the rest of us put together...sitting on that thrown of superiority.
The General Election will be held in the City of Lake Worth, Florida, on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, (with a Run-Off Election on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, if necessary), for the purpose of electing a Mayor, Commissioner from District #1 and Commissioner from District #3, each for a two (2) year term.
We will know the answer by noon, twelve days from now.

Americans willingly giving up the First Amendment?
Nancy Smith of Sunshine State News just wrote an article What's happened to Our Will to Preserve Free Speech?
She says that "the fact that 40 percent of millennials think government censorship of free speech -- even if it might be interpreted by some as bigoted and offensive -- is a good thing ... that is a problem. Forty percent. Think about it: You either live in a free country or you don’t. And a government that can sanction or punish you for giving your opinion is not the government of a free country and it certainly isn't the government of the one our forefathers founded."
We see this in our own city. Take invocations as an example, said before city commission meetings. It was easier censoring a message that some didn't want to hear by eliminating the appeal for inspiration and guidance altogether, part of our history. The small minority of people who feared the message (atheists) won and government is giving in to what they consider "political correctness" to protect the feelings, perceived or fabricated, of the few.
What is more important? Following like a sheep and under the thumb of government censorship or just being cordial and respectful while still having your First Amendment rights and allowed to say what you believe? With the Millennials, social media has opened up their ability for free speech, so their reaction to agreeing with censorship, sanctions, or even government punishment for saying what you think is puzzling to say the least.
Obama - Confused
We've heard about people confused about their sexuality...well, Obama is confused about who the enemy is that threatens the globe. And unfortunately, he is not grasping the truth or its severity. He just doesn't get it and never has understood his role--protect America's safety.
For several years now, I have been suggesting that Obama has no clue as to whom the enemy really is. We know that Assad is a despicable murdering bastard as well as the ISIS terrorists. But Assad is not directly threatening the United States unlike ISIS, a global threat to world safety and sanity. We've seen the be-headings; we've seen what their terror has done. Now Matt Drudge just wrote something along those lines of knowing your enemy. Finally people are talking about Obama's lack of understanding who the enemy is instead of just muttering it to themselves.
"We think the Islamic terrorists are the only evil, but the truth remains that the most demonic people are the ones behind the curtain of destruction, directing the scenes of perdition, while going before cameras with sharp grins, hand waves, and a lofty podium, and they are in power only because the masses allow them to be in power," says Shobat.
Obama needs to stop acting like nothing is wrong. And the world countries shouldn't have to house an entire nation of Syrian refugees some of whom will definitely be ISIS terrorists

Today, as we enjoy this Thanksgiving Day giving thanks for family and friends and country, do not feel guilty about your overwhelming feeling of love and protection towards them. Don't be ashamed about your worry regarding the thousands of immigrants and refugees that Obama is allowing in as you take another serving of cranberry sauce. Don't feel the least bit embarrassed about your concern when the liberals tell you that you are a selfish hypocrite and unChristian. Do not feel less than charitable that you have grave worries about accepting Syrians into our country, the most giving nation on Earth. Our own leader in chief has provided virtually no assurances that the admission of Syrian refugees will not pose a national security threat to the United States.
"The U.S. has imported 70,000 refugees per year for many years, more than half of them from Muslim-dominated countries such as Somalia and Iraq with active jihadist movements, and President Obama has pledged to increase that number to 85,000 this year and 100,000 the following year.
The new study is significant because the Obama administration has in the past made statements that 'around 200' Americans had left the country to join ISIS and could come back at any time using their American passports."
Read more... about the crisis and of the thousands of ISIS fighters already in this country.
Today we know that Obama does not have the resources to track these people and there is no way to conduct a background check from anyone coming out of Syria. We are one crack in the sidewalk or one Lake Worth pothole fall away from a tragedy. Obama knows this.
Yesterday, he pardoned a turkey (TOTUS) all the while feeling silly about it. But he doesn't feel the least bit silly for allowing thousands of possible terrorists into our country. Even the turkey was vetted.
Give thanks today for all the blessings that we do enjoy and may God watch over our country.

Anthony Pugliese, the developer who wanted to "steal" our beach years ago, just got sentenced to six months in jail for a million dollar swindle. Small price to pay. And he gets to stay home before jailed so that he can eat his Thanksgiving turkey. I would say that he has a lot to be grateful for.
It does pay to be a crook.

Know thy Enemy - they are Growing out of the Weeds
Much of the same sentiment is being expressed today as it was back before we entered World War II.
In 1939, we had not yet emerged from the Great Depression. People were still suffering. We had a very small military of around 200,000 men. A year later, we passed a conscription law and eventually built up our military to over 12 million by the War's end. We were not ready to embrace another war so soon after World War I. We had to build up our military and build up our economy. And besides, the war was on the other side of the world, not something we needed to bother with. Eventually, we were forced to enter when Japan bombed our shores.
Today, we have an all volunteer military of around 1,361,755, 1/12th of what we had when we were at War. Obama is reducing it even further all the while terror reigns and our enemy has threatened to come to America, again. We recently were involved in Iraq and Afghanistan fighting terrorists but Obama has pulled troops out of those countries where DAESH reigns. We no longer have any troops in Iraq (boots on the ground) which opened up a vacuum for ISIS/Daesh. If anyone wants to know what or who caused ISIS, there's your answer.
What will it take to defeat these terrorists? Knowing who the enemy is would be helpful. When will our president believe that there is a brutal enemy out there dying to get to our country and kill us? Even our airstrikes are way down. When will he understand that we don't know who these refugees really are and that there are enemy terrorist Muslim cells already in our country? What will it finally take--another invasion?
Amed Khan, (Read about Khan), former Clinton official says, "We bomb them, they grow out of the weeds again. They are not going to go away until they are just completely wiped out from the face of the Earth — and I mean doing everything."

Chaz Stevens - The Atheist - Lake Worth hears from his lawyer
Comment Up
The City of Lake Worth has written Chaz Stevens informing him of the new policy on invocations. Mr. Stevens already threaten to sue if he did not get in the invocation rotation. Stevens' lawyer wrote them back and the lawyer sounds about as steadfast (trying to be kind here) as his client in this matter. Chaz Stevens had previously intimated that a suit would be following. The tone of his lawyer's letter is, to be frank, wise guy New York style.
Here is the last part of their response to the city:
I believe it is entire (sic) fair to say that the possibility of any commissioner giving an invocation, or having the unilateral authority to nominate an individual to perform that function, grossly and blatantly flies in the face of the Constitution and is prohibited.
It would appear that in its hurried attempt to tap dance away from my client, and to adhere to Greece v. Galloway, the City of Lake Worth has stepped into a pile of Engel v. Vitale under your watch.
At the moment, that’s a (sic) much of your homework that I care to do for you.
Yours
Thomas H. Wright III, Esq.

Radical Islam is a serious threat but the DNC won't admit it
EricksonontheRadio says: "Fifty-six percent of DEMOCRATS believe radical Islam is at war with us. Ninety-two percent of Americans say “radical Islam” is a serious threat. That includes a majority of Democrats and Republicans. Well, the geniuses at the DNC, intent on proving they are not serious about fighting terror, have launched a new ad attacking the GOP for using the phrase radical Islam.
The most interesting part of this is that it comes as a form of damage control to protect Hillary Clinton. Clinton, in the most recent Democratic debate, contorted herself to avoid using the phrase radical Islam. Just like the DNC has protected her by limiting debate opportunities, etc., they are now trying to protect her on defense on this issue.
But in doing so, the DNC puts itself in opposition to all but 8% of the public.
I hope they run this ad over and over and over and then follow it up with gun control ads."
"Ridiculous. Embarrassing. The stupidity and blatant intellectual dishonesty of this ad makes me hostile. Normally, what the DNC says and does pales in comparison to the follies of the social justice warriors and 60s-era “activist” sect, but this is just too much," says Legal Insurrection.

Someone came on my blog at 11:44pm and asked me the following question:
Thanks for asking as I have thought about this and have come up with a few things--
Most people don't want to think about horrible happenings in the world. They are concentrated on their own immediate lives, their families, putting food on the table, holding on to their jobs and just trying to be happy. Serious issues upset their apple cart and they believe that no elected leader would lead us astray and if push comes to shove, that president who promised them hope and change will be there for them to keep the nation safe. They need positive energy rather than what's really around them and push it aside as not relative to them. They call the rest of us "complainers," or racists.
Obama still, to this day, has an approval rating of around 43%. It is 43% points too high.
Half the country are Democrats and Obama is building his voting base by encouraging food stamps, "affordable" medical care, and generally doling out help from the state. Ever since President Obama took office, the poverty rate among children has soared to 22 percent, with three million more children living in poor conditions. Of course, the Feds won't do a thing about illegal immigration. And then you have Democrats like Bernie Sanders, who want to spend $3 billion on solar panels for the poor. The federal debt owed to the public has more than doubled — up 107 percent but Democrats don't care about that. Washington allows corporations to outsource and we have lost millions of jobs to overseas...they won't lower the corporate tax and keep jobs here.
The majority of voters in LW are Democrat as well as in Palm Beach County in general. It used to be, back in the 50's, you had to register Democrat or you had NO one to vote for in the primaries. It has stuck and it took me 40 years to do something about that.
Although I have readers from all over the place, predominantly they are from this city I would guess. Have you ever gotten in a conversation with anyone from around here on national or international issues. They just keep bowing down to Obama for all he has done for them such as gay rights as an example or they will refuse to get into the debate. I have a good friend who would not vote for Romney saying he was a "nerd." I have a few good acquaintances/friends who are Democrats and don't read this blog--they only read fiction.
We have a large gay population. They are caught up in the rapture of his oratory and deeds and believe that he is the only one speaking for them. No doubt about it--he has done a lot.
The other thing about Lake Worth is that the local politics is split right down the middle from the informed to the uninformed, to the vocal and those who have no clue, so this brings the biggest response from those involved. The city is highly charged politically. Local issues are in their own back yard so immediately there is built-in interest. My making mention of the ills of Obama doesn't cut it for them. They want to hear about our commission and Mike Bornstein or if we or they are getting screwed.
We also have an active socialist population and you can't talk to them about anything but Bernie, abortions, and free college educations. There are the pacifists who believe and don't want us to be engaged in any more wars on foreign soil...NO boots on the ground they say. These are the people who want us to bring in Syrian refugees, support them and allow Muslim populations to grow in our country. We are a diverse nation, they tell us...bring us your tired, your poor, etc. and still bring up the Statute of Liberty. We have so many illegals in this city and that doesn't bother many of them.
They ignore the national debt of over $18 trillion and believe money grows on trees. We are a debtor nation and they don't care. We are helping the world, they believe. They don't want to hear what I have to say and dismiss it, as the nation continually slides into socialism and debt that is like quicksand, that we can't crawl from.
We have the atheists and the politically correct Democrats who want to do away with any religion and Obama has helped them achieve this. You do away with Christianity and you eradicate the soul of our nation. "Whatever we once were, we are no longer a Christian nation." BHO said this in 2006.
So there you have it--a few thoughts on this. If I had taken the time, I probably would have come up with a better answer. I am a blogger who does not write for a targeted audience. Hopefully next year the politics will change. When it does, it will be a rough road to get our nation back on track. And as Scott Maxwell said the other night, "We have never agreed on anything" and that's where the problem lies. There is no reaching across the aisle.
Someone came on my blog at 11:44pm and asked me the following question:
- Anonymous said...
- Why is it your readers hardly ever comment on your National/global posts (which I love) - any thoughts?
Obama giving warning to ISIS of pending US bombings

"While it took the U.S. fifteen months to even begin targeting ISIS’ oil refineries and tankers, air strikes by Moscow destroyed more than 1,000 tankers in a period of just five days.
In comparison, Col. Steve Warren said that the U.S. had taken out only 116 tanker trucks, the “first strike” to target ISIS’ lucrative black market oil business, which funds over 50 per cent of the terror group’s activities."
Read about it... and our pathetic strategy by Obama. He still doesn't understand that this is war.

Vice Mayor Scott Maxwell on Invocations at City Hall - Quote of the Day

"I'm not looking for controversy...but why is it that we've gone for 200 plus years with this process? It's worked very well for us and then we find one individual or two individuals in the community or a nation that want to make an issue out of it.
You know, earlier today we talked about democracy, ok...well that's not very democratic when you start having nickles holding up a dime. For 200 plus years, we have had this system in place. Now all of a sudden we're going to change the system over a handful of people that they decide they want to come in and mock everyone's else's religion. That's not what I consider respectful of other people's belief systems.
So, we all should shut down our belief systems or not express, or embrace, or celebrate or acknowledge or whatever adjective you want to use because one or two or three or a handful of people in the community are offended...are you kidding me? You're kidding me, right?"
~ Vice Mayor Scott Maxwell
I agree with Scott Maxwell. Right now the country is being lead by politically correct minorities of people who are changing our value system. That is their mission--to end the importance of Christianity, God, prayer or any religion. I agree with Maxwell that we "are not moving forward" when Commissioner Maier suggested that we were. They have had the right president of the United States in place to empower them. A lot has changed over the course of seven years.
When Maxwell used the expression of nickles holding up a dime, he was saying that basically the notion that something relatively small in value can thwart the larger benefits that would accrue from something much bigger. There is a lot of truth to that statement.
To say this again, eighty-three percent of Americans identify themselves as Christians. Most of the rest, 13 percent, have no religion. That leaves just 4 percent as adherents of all non-Christian religions combined — Jews, Muslims, Buddhists and a smattering of individual mentions.
Even our city attorney told us that all faiths have been represented in Lake Worth during our invocations: Christians, Jews, Moment of Silence, Muslims, Atheists, Quakers, Baha'i Faith. We can't control the message but we can tell them not to criticize others. He told us that our procedure has not been illegal and quoted a Supreme Court case that I have already discussed on this blog.
The City should have told the truth as to what provoked this to be placed on the agenda by the City Attorney--it was the request by Atheist/Satanist Chaz Stevens who has threatened a lawsuit. The last thing this city wants is another lawsuit and they don't want him appearing at City Hall.
They are controlling the message. Even in the end, Scott Maxwell voted to take the easy way out. They changed the process with their 4/1 vote [McVoy dissenting], catering to the minority of people who believe in nothing but themselves. If they are afraid of a lawsuit, they surely could open themselves up for a discrimination lawsuit down the road when you have 5 commissioners controlling the message and deciding what, if any or who should give the invocation at City Hall.
Here in Lake Worth, non-believers are very much in the minority. It is such a small percentage that it amounts to beans but this commission rolled over to them on the pretense of "moving forward" and totally ignoring the First Amendment.
I am not afraid of anyone's message whether they be Jewish, Atheist, Muslim, etc. I am very comfortable in my own skin, in my own beliefs, that whatever they say is irrelevant to my life but one thing is certain, they should have the right to give a two minute invocation. What is there to fear?
Note: In God We Trust
