An innovative couple set up a tent right down the road from me.
Suspended tree tent looks like it's straight out of the Hunger Games. Read about them...
I hope that this is not part of the Homeless pitching a tent in a public park that has become prevalent lately all over our State. John Prince Park has accommodations for campers in a specific area with 300 sites for RV’s and tents with electric and water hookups.

If they're not in the campground, they're breaking the law.Where in the Fuc$ is our overpriced Sheriffs dept?????
Maybe my husband and I will just go pitch a tax free tent at Bryant Park. I've always wanted to live on the water!!
I also find people sleeping on park benches in the early morning when I walk my dog. And also discarded needles. Why do we allow ALL NIGHT PARKING there when the park CLOSES AT DUSK?? Isn't this just an invitation to druggies and drug dealers??
The whole town invites druggies with free food and housing. AKA sober houses.
PBSO needs to I force the dusk to dawn closure at Bryant Park - and for that matter, all city parks.
I say turn the dogs loose and turn them out of there, it's not safe.
But then you have some people (Joann Golden, Cara Jennings, et al) picking them up and bringing these bums to commission meetings to squawk how we should provide for them... And Commie Ryan Maier is waving that flag in front of the parade of smelly vagrants and urbal campers.
Watch for the convicted anarchist Ryan Hartman to make a continued presence and campaign for we the people to make and allow sub accommodations and on our dime.
I hear this human excuse for a tick is likely to run for a commission seat. We better be weary of this charlatan posing as an environmentalist... Just last week he was convicted in his role at the Briger Forest demonstration where he threw the battery of his van into. Palm Beach Gardnes lake. Nice oxymoron, jack ass. Look for him to bring his EarthFirst! Co-convicts and their assorted misfits to more commission meetings and stir the pot.
I really don't want him or his carpet bagger druggies to be a part of our city - go back to your trust fund and leave us alone. I'll be watching just who supports his ilk and agenda.
That's. Hammock tent... My Boy Scout has one, works great to keep you off the ground and bugs at bay.
Where exactly did they set this up? The campground at John Prince doesn't have a lot of spots in the tent camping area with trees positioned oriperly to do this. Or are they just camping any place they pick in the park? That ain't right either...
I support all of those who have tried to save the Briger Forest over the past 5 years and those who have helped Everglades Earth First. Ryan Hartman was sentenced to probation, community service and fines.
Much of what you said is slanderous. So you want to watch all of us who support saving our environment? Go for it...because all the rest of us will be watching who supports going around our heights charter Amendment and allowing developers to do what they want in our city.
I'm an environmentalist as well… So is Chris McCoy. But I haven't seen anything from him that actually offers solutions on what to do about the environment or sea level rise,
How do you justify Ryan Hartman's throwing his van battery in the lake? It's frighten toxic and polluting our ground water. How does he justify it?
He's not a true environmentalist, he's an anarchist who wants attention and a spoiled little boy with a silver spoon stuck in his mouth.
and how do you or he justiy or condone their planned protest that shut down and disrupted school and synagogue all while
resisting arrest? Parents were frantic with worry as they could not reach their children - The whole area was on lockdown and traffic is snarled for hours. I know cause I was there dealing with his poorly planned protest ... this action was a form of domestic terrorism. " give me what I want or you can't get to your kids". It's the same behavior when he threaten the city during a commission meeting that he would bring an Occupy protest movement to LW if we even try to enforce our laws like dust to dawn closure at the parks - why you might ask? He's trying to threaten us into allowing his bohemian lifestyle to do as they please and camp in Bryant park. He's a cancer in our town.
Anony above at 7:48 sounds like the obsessed bully on Columbia Drive. He likes to blame Jennings on everything and she doesn't even live here anymore or blame Golden because she whipped his ass twice. What a dunce. Hartman was given 6 months of probation and community service for interruption of school buses to cross or something mundane. Only Blackman is telling the tale of a battery being thrown in the lake by this volunteer with Earth First. Anyone who cares about Florida's environment should commend these protesters.
I don't know who Ryan Hartman is but he's standing up for what he believes.
I don't know if it was his battery that was thrown into the lake or someone else's battery in order to make a point. Pollution is pollution and building all those homes on this forest is really a shame and pollutes our environment.
This is a group that wants to preserve our forests and all undeveloped land in Florida that would be destroyed, I am assuming. On the beautiful 58 acres of forests on the Briger property, they all will be destroyed for a developer to build 360 houses and townhomes in order to make a lot of money at the expense of our state, Palm Beach Gardens and PB County. Very sad for Florida when the almighty buck prevails and lands are not preserved. I really don't care if it is private property or not.
On another note and to answer someone above, the tent was in daylight and right across from where I live. it was not in the interior. It might have been some young folks...they pulled up in a van...and pitched the tent. it was gone the next day.
Lynn these are urban campers...
Did they trespass on your property to get water out of your hose?
These vagabonds are quick to pass along information to their fellow Voyagers of places they can go and camp out… Better be on the lookout for more of this activity in your neighborhood.
The battery came out of the van he owns... That the two women chained themselves to.
PB Post staff writer Daphne Durst goes on to report that the two women, Bailey Riley and Ashley Lyons were aw tenancies to 12 months probation, Ryan Hartman got 6 months probation, plus all three got 100 hours of community service... and they have fines and court costs to pay...
Of course all three were represented by Assistant Public Defender Brad Schlesinger along with Assistant Public Defender Katherine Panella - and we the tax payer end up paying for that!
Bailey Riley is a student in Tampa and can report via mail to her probation officer. Riley works part time and Ashley Lyons doesn't work at all so the judge is allowing them to pay down the court costs of at lest $300 by performing community seri d beyond the 100 hours at a rate of $10 an hour.
Ryan Hartman, who works, will have to pay - so says the judge.
All activity have every right to protest, but they have no right to break the law. These three purposely planned to block the road to the sho as a permitted event to draw media attention to thei cause.
Ryan Hartman is the guy in the rumpled shirt, unkeeped long black hair, he was dirty/smelled bad and threaten to bring an ACLU action and an Occupy Movement to Lake Worth over us trying to clean up the park. It was at a commission meeting maybe between April and July if memory serves me correctly.
Oh, that one...the one Wes is turned on about. Why in the hell would he be running for anything except up a tree or advocating for the rights of the homeless.
