Emily Miller of the Washington Times says, "The “gun-show loophole” is an exaggeration designed to foster the false impression that this is how the bad guys acquire firearms. A 2001 Justice Department survey found 0.7 percent of state and federal prison inmates bought their weapons at a gun show.

I just want it to be mandatory for anyone transferring, gifting or selling a gun to insure the buyer or recipient is properly screened and cleared that they're eligible to buy or receive a gun. And I would include anyone listed on the no-fly list as being ineligible to legally acquiring guns. Of course, no one is gonna find out what guns your uncle bob left you...
Of course then there's the whole neat of worms when you talk about mental illness. People on heavy duty prescription meds need to also be on the no buy list because they are mentally fragile, unstable or insufficient to comprehend the responsibility of possessing a gun and they pose a danger to themselves and the rest of us.
We all want a lot of stuff - what we need to do is obey the law.
The law (2nd amendment) requires a vote of the people to implement any changes to make it legal and not an act of pretended legislation! Babies are on the no-fly list and I consider this a lame talking point and not a legal solution!

A friend follows the 'mental illness' thing and happiness is listed as a mental illness - pfffft - throw that argument outta the window as propaganda! Kids on meds and in the system get more funding so therefor they are all in need of meds...Solution looking for a problem to make a profit...greedy corporations looking for a sale and you are an unpaid sales person! Stop listening to the talking points - read the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution & the bill of rights all our law makers swear to uphold then move forward according to authorized law and stop feeling your feelings and taking away my freedoms because you are not doing it correctly/legally! Thanks!
