UPDATE: This property will be featured tonight, January 13, at 5:30 Channel 12 News

This condo unit is rented out. The owner lives in zip code area 33462.
310 S J ST # 2
Municipality LAKE WORTH

Subdivision VARVIKKO II APTS COND AS IN DECL IN

The tenant has lived there for many years and has experienced a problem over the last year of a leaky roof and mold. The owner, instead of fixing the problems correctly, wants to evict his long-time tenant and has filed notice. After much calling with about 8 calls this past Friday, the Code Department is dropping by on Monday morning to assess all that is going on.

We have some horrible landlords in this city. Real jerk-offs.

I would love, love, love to know if this apartment is properly licensed by the City as a rental property and whether it has been inspected. Who wants to place bets that it is not licensed and not inspected. Meanwhile code, likes to request to inspect our rental properties every six months or whenever we have a tenant turn over despite the fact that the ordinance provides for once a year. Code would rather hassle those of us who already follow the rules rather than open some actual code complaints or track down the illegal rental properties.

I have been told that it is licensed. Inspections, according to the tenant, occur every 2 years? and the next one is due on the 17th or so of this month. Code will not do anything for this tenant but they will make the landlord clean it up before he can rent it again I was just told by the tenant. Look for this on channel 12.

Code inspects our rental properties every time the utilities change regardless of the last time they inspected. Pursuant to Ord. they can inspect once a year, but they don't follow their own rules and they've been known to inspect my rental three months after prior inspection, charging me of course.

Now we know who's responsible for calling the local news whenever there's a small problem in Lake Worth. What's the matter all the Lake Worth bashing on "your" blog not enough for you? The need to feel like you matter requires you to call local news too?

You know SQUAT, anonymous...guess again. I don't have an ego problem like some people do. This owner, however, has a big problem and I am glad that he called channel 12.

I think the problem is with another slum landlord. Can't we stop these people?

Thanks, Lynn. I watched it. Interesting how it ended, with William Waters saying people in apartments with issues like this will just have to move...

Heard that William threw a hissy fit- that he is MAD that the tenant dared to call Channel 12! The tenant has to move out before they can do something? Bullshi!
Would Wes Blackman, Greg Rice, etc, have to move out? HELL NO !! William -pull up your big boy pants, and help this citizen, even though you don't like him personally. This guy is not liked by the powers that be because he dares to speak up about problems in Lake Worth.
William , you should be TYHANKING this guy and channel 12 for outing a slum Landlord for you !!!
Can everyone imagine what chaos vacation rentals would cause in a city that does not even follow their own rules with the rental properties that are already on the books? If you have been inspected more than the status quo- go and speak up in public at a city meeting.
