Very sad to see Capt. Silva go. He will be missed. Whoever takes over for him has some very big shoes to fill.

He's a very nice person, and very diplomatic. I'm sure he'll do well at the State Attorney's office.

I'll miss him. Now he will be involved in some politics but out of this crazy crime ridden city.

Why couldn't Silva or anyone in the past get this city cleaned up? We still have tons of crime, no one can get this city cleaned up and nice looking like Naples. Will Lake Worth ever be nice and crime free? Will we ever get someone who really does the job?

One person can't get the City cleaned up, we all need to work on issues of crime and blight. We can all pick up trash, help a neighbor clean up their yard, attend a neighborhood clean up, and to the extent necessary report a property to code etc. As for crime, we can all make the call, we can put pressure on PBSO and our elected officials to address crime. We can make sure our homes are well lit, etc. You can also help the City by reporting the illegal rentals and illegal short term rentals, its easy to look up a property on the PAPA web page, if someone is renting out their homesteaded home, report them to the property appraiser and report them to the city if they don't have a rental license or are violating the short term rental law. If we could all take 30 minutes once a month to report properties to the property appraiser that we see on VRBO but hold a homestead or that we know are rented out the City's tax base would widen and more properties would pay more in taxes.

Do your part.
