Rick Scott's re-election

Comment Up

On Tuesday, voters did the right thing.  In a vast percentage of Democratic voters, it had nothing to do with being an informed voter.  It had everything to do with Party Loyalty and not crossing the Democrats' line. Democrats believed all the negative hype distributed by their Party against Rick Scott. The Democrats brought up the Fifth Amendment in ads as many times as Scott took it back in 2000. Read about it. Enough voters saw through the politics and the teachers union, etc. to give Governor Rick Scott the nod again.

In Frank Cerabino's column today, he says that voters did not necessarily go along with Rick Scott's or Republican ideas basing his statement on the fact that the majority of voters, 58%, wanted Amendment 2 to pass on medical marijuana and that was a bigger percentage than what Scott got. He said that Tuesday's election was a ROUT (rhymes with boot) for Republicans but not so much for their ideas. I 100% disagree with this analysis but I usually do when it comes to liberal left-wingers and their far-out statements.

The message to be learned here and one that die-hard Obama supporters reject, (they all love his do-nothing policies and his nearly $18 trillion dollar debt and Gwyneth Paltrow thinks he is breath-taking) is a simple message.

Rick Scott is a member of a Party that believes and practices conservative principles--Republicans demand a sensible, conservative and fair budget and believe, among many other important differences with Democrats, that taxes shouldn't be increased for anyone (including the wealthy) and that wages should be set by the free market. The message was-- A vote for us (Republicans) is a vote against Obama.  Democrats could not counter it.

Charlie Crist was Governor during the economic malaise caused by the housing crisis which was in turn created by Wall Street's toxic and mostly worthless mortgage backed securities which they sold to the public while they were betting against them.
Gov. Scott, on the other hand was aided by being elected in the strong years of economic recovery from this housing and securities fraud crisis. He used his ill gotten gains from his company's fraudulent Medicare billing to buy his first election by smearing his opponent with similar statistics.
Remember, there are lies, damn lies, and then there are statistics.

rick scott stole 1 billion dollars and got away with it. scott also cut education funding to bare bones. That's not dirty politics those are facts. scott cut education because he needs dumb uniformed voters to keep voting for the b.s. he's selling.

LOL-
Democrats love people like you. But the fact of the matter is, you guys lost and now, hopefully, our country will be able to move forward in the right direction--
secure our borders, stop illegal immigration, confront ISIS, stop the spending binge, etc..

Democrats kept bringing up the same bull over and over again that they did in the 1ast election. It didn't work then and it didn't work this time. don't you think politicians should learn from their mistakes? That's the only argument you had and he never once was questioned personally about it by any government or law enforcement agency or the SEC. If the Democrats had any fuel, it would have caused a fire. Didn't happen either time. Find a better argument next time.

Ironically "Sorry Charlie's" law firm contributed $$$$$$$$$$$ to get marijuana amendment on ballot thinking these supporters would also support him. Might have helped him but at least some of those voted for Scott. (Those who voted for Scott were probably the percentage seriosly voting for the medical advantage of marijuana and pot heads voted for "Sorry Charlie".

Gov. Scott disbanded the Dept of Community Affairs to allow his developer cronies to pave over the rest of paradise without state scrutiny.
He also signed into law the statute that Lake Worth's legal eagles are using to stop placement of the heights amendment into our Charter.
The developers go to bed every night thanking God for Saint Rick. Are you joining them?

You can't find a politician anywhere that you love all they stand for. Sorry Charlie you never know what he stands for other than "opportunity".

12:09...that is your interpretation of the heights amendment. It has not been proven legal in a court of law. Right now, the heights amendment stands--45 feet and 35 feet in our downtown. This had to do with the city attorney's interpretation of the law trying to make it fit their argument. That does not make it so. We presented our case at the time...the amendment passed with 56% of the vote and some de-facto law can't stop our election and its results. Only a judge can do that.

Rick Scott can be all of this Lynn, but bottom line he and his admin. discriminate against gays, not allowing for gay marriage in FL or recognizing gay marriages from other states, pure hate and discrimination, hate is not conservative. There are not fair and equal policies for all people in FL and all people are not put first, only heterosexuals. Count YOUR blessings, gays do not have the same rights as YOU. If we did not have Adrian Wyllie and all these other candidates for Gov. only between Scott and Crist, then Crist would have won, all those other dis-tractors hurt the dems, and Crist and his chances, otherwise Crist would have won. Too bad for FL.

@1:38---there are many people left in this country that are religious and believe that marriage is between a man and a woman. This has nothing to do with HATE even though that is a word you like to use in support of gay marriage, that along with RACISM. I reject both arguments.

OUR STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENTS ARE SUPPOSED TO NOT MIX religion into government or policy, but they are and it is not fair for gays to not have ALL the same RIGHTS that heterosexuals have, it does go back to religion and our government is breaking its own rules by not allowing for equal rights for ALL PEOPLE. ALL. ALL people should have the right to pursue happiness and equal benefits under the law, but they don't, IT is NOT fair. So call it bigotry or discrimination, religious bias, whatever, but it is not fair for ALL.

To use your logic, it is then not fair that a man cannot marry his pet goat, nor is it fair for a woman to not sleep with her well endowed donkey, nor is it fair for a man to not be able to marry as many women as he desires and then sleep with the sheep. Do you see just how quickly your logic begins to fail you? As we slide down the slippery slope, please keep in mind that the gays are fighting the wrong battle for the wrong reasons. If gays had any sense at all, which most do not, they would be using their massive wealth in a fight to keep the Muslims away from our borders instead of subsidizing a movement that will be history in just a few short years. Do something constructive with your wealth and influence or you will be interned in a death camp where you either conform to Islamic law or die. Choose your poison or the Muslims will choose it for you. Iran is now requiring gays to have a sex change operation to conform to Islam or be put to death. Do you want to be forced back into the closet or have your head put on the chopping block because you did not have enough sense to look into the future? OMG the nightmarish visions that conjures up. But that is better than the alternative. If you truly believe that you are discriminated against because over the millennium society has put forth laws that govern an orderly society, then you also deserve what is awaiting you when the Muslims become a mere 3% of this country. Good luck.

".....Just like any special ed. person or anyone, we are all different and should not be denied rights......"

That one sentence by the poster above actually sums up the argument the previous poster made pretty well. To take this statement one step further: If it is your right to marry any another human being, it makes no sense what-so-ever to deny pedophilia, bestiality, polygamy or any other variant that anyone in America wants to define as marriage and his (her) right. Want to marry your six year old daughter, in this persons mind it is your right as a "special" person to do so. Do you see this slippery slope? Probably not as you are so quick to discriminate against anyone who can see the larger picture.

The gay community has made so many enemies with their 'in your face' attitude and their blatantly 'over the top' gay pride parades, that it may be difficult in the not to distant future to find straight people who are willing to defend them in states like Florida which now has eight counties with a nearly five percent Muslim population. Remember, it requires only 3% of the population for laws to be changed. Watch Miami-Dade as a bell-weather.

Are their enough gays to hold the Muslims at bay? I doubt it. That may be what the original poster was attempt to convey but it appears to have fallen on deaf ears. Time will tell.
