Miss Universe Pageant and Transgenders

Comment Up
It may not be anything more than a good business decision. But Donald Trump had the final word after new rules were written in The Miss Universe Contest, that transgenders will be allowed to participate in his pageant. Was it the threat of a law suit by Gloria Allred that did it? Trump says no.
"Is Gloria a man or a woman????---- few men would know the answer to that one," Trump tweeted in a personal retort to Allred. "She did not ask Mr. Trump to prove that he is a naturally born man or to see photos of his birth to view his anatomy to prove that he was male," Allred said.
While officials acknowledged Jenna Talackova as a "real girl," they originally disqualified her because the rules state all contestants must be "naturally born female." Jenna, a transgender since she was 19, will be allowed to compete in the Miss Universe pageant as Canada's contestant.

Perhaps now that the Miss Universe Pageant recognizes transgenders, in the future, society will allow a well qualified city manger to do her job.
