Parking at Lake Worth beach

Comment Up

According to the vice mayor, someone who tells me I am not connecting the dots,  says we're not making any money at our beach park and it will be years before we do.

Thanks commissioners, especially Commissioner Szerdi for leading the vote on giving away our 50 decal parking spaces to non-residents. People were parking at the employee parking lot and every single space at Old Bridge Park was filled, no meters in view. People were parking at Bryant Park and on Golfview, walking over the bridge to go to the beach.

Do they make money on any other park in this city? Bryant Park? Memorial park? What about Osborne Gym? Do they charge people for parking decals there?

It was horrible today, I could not park there and I have a decal, I saw many parked there from NJ and out of town in our lot without decals, no one was enforcing today, it sucks, I pay this money and cannot use it, I am not sure now I will buy one next year, this stinks, I am very upset with our mayor and comm. now.

Maybe they should start charging a membership fee at the Osborne gym. Really kill this town and put parking meters EVERYWHERE !!!!.Our downtown would turn into a ghost town and this group could put up 50 story CONDOS in their place ! Maybe that's the plan anyway! You could give these Commissioners 10 MILIION ( or the 68 million that they want the tax payers to cough up ) and this group could piss it away ! Maxwell NEVER wanted the casino to be re-done. It could be a roaring success and he would lie through his teeth about it. But these people think nothing of spending 5,000 per month for a lobbyist !Good grief .

Surprise Surprise!!
Midday on a beautiful Sunday in April and the parking lot at the beach is full.

I was one of the fortunate to actually find a space in decal parking. I saw an out of state car parking and told him there was a fine. He thought about it and decided to stay anyway. Of course I never saw a parking enforcement so he got away with it. I am not buying a decal next year until they start enforcing this decal parking. It is a waste of your money. Most of the beach attendees had coolers and don't event eat at the restarants, etc.

It was Mr. Szerdi as well as his pundits who said many times, "Whenever I drive over there, there are plenty of empty spaces." This is to show you that it is not entirely true by any stretch of the imagination.

I just came from the beach (8:40) and there are plenty of empty spaces. Every time I go there are plenty of empty decal spaces. I'll go back at 11:00 and let you know if the lot is full.
Just a question, what day and time did you take your pictures?

Frankly, I love to see full parking lot b/c that means we are paying off the debt for the beach.

Anon at 11:50: you cannot possibly blame the Commissioners and the Mayor for non-decal cars illegally parking in the decal lot.
C'mon....

Anon at 12:49: Is it possible that you are not well versed in what a GOOD lobbyist actually does?
Emphasis on the 'good'...lobbyists have a horrible reputation, granted, but when they are true to their cause, they can achieve some astounding results.

Re: parking violations. It would take just a few weeks of really vigilant pking fines, to spread the word that illegal pking isn't a safe bet anymore -
Let's get (can we?) a volunteer pking squad to set things straight up there!
