Poll on Gay Marriage

Comment Up

As people are not as liberal thinking or accepting as those in Lake Worth might be on gay marriage, I thought this poll interesting.

From the Washington times

LIVE RESULTS POLL--Do you support traditional marriage or gay marriage?

Traditional Marriage 82%
Gay Marriage 18%

Total Votes: 118,596

The article, the blog posts after, and the population of all makes you wonder? Sounds very hateful toward gays and homosexual behavior. You have wonder the population they used to come up with your results posted here. Maybe gays should just not have or raise kids. But what can you do when a couple is married, has kids then comes out of the closet as gay and divorces to then have a gay partner? There is a lot of hate in this article and all the comments about it. Makes you wonder....

Ultimately, whoever is opposed to same sex marriage has the right to not marry someone of the same sex. What they do not have the right to do anymore in the State of Florida and 35 other states is to prohibit anyone from pursuing their marital bliss with who they choose. Thank God for that! I am sure Anita Bryant is fuming behind this decision in Florida. Anecdote, poetic justice, Mrs. Bryant was blessed with a gay son! God does not like ugly.

Happy New Year,

People can find hate under a rock.

Mark--Anita Bryant stood up for her convictions. She is a very religious person and as such does not believe in gay marriage. Her right. But what the gay lobby did to her was far worse than anything she could have said about the subject. To put her out of business and destroy her career was unfair. And that's what they did. With some people, free speech is only ok when it agrees with your views. She had tens of thousands of gays out there to ruin her and make her a spectacle. She was a gutsy dame. Hope she still is. And the poll is what it is. Travel to other parts of America and people are not so accepting of gay marriage. You live in a city where the gay population is somewhat larger and more established.

Lynn,

There is a big difference between standing up for your beliefs and conviction and using those beliefs and convictions as a smoke screen to spew hatred, bigotry and racism, Anita was very good at doing the later. If she really wanted to stand up for her religious beliefs she would have channeled all those resources toward Christian behavior like, oh I don't know feeding hungry children, fostering orphans, starting a non-profit to help the needy. But now, she chose to viciously attack human beings because of something they have no control over. God created us all, not just straight, white, anglo-saxon's. She lost all her riches because of hate. She used to have plenty of gay fans. We showed her we do not take assaults on who we are lightly. I am proud I was part of the boycott of OJ until they removed her as their spokesperson. We fought with our dollars and won. There is nothing wrong with not buying a product because a hateful bigot represents that product. Gays did nothing hateful to her other than express their freedom to choose what they buy. Look where all her "gutsyness" got her. LOL! And a gay son to boot. I truly believe that was a message from God saying, here you go, will you hate your own son? I would not put it past her. Too many people hide behind a religion to hate. She is just as bad as a radicalized Muslim using the Quran to justify killing innocent people. True Christians embrace all of God's creation, not just the ones that are like them!

God Bless You,

we don't need to talk about this anymore--equal rights

Look , I don't care who marries who. BUT, I have friends on both sides of the issue. Some people AGAINST the gay marriage issue believe in gay rights to a civil union so that gay couples have all of the rights under the law as married couples do.However they also believe that marriage is a sacrament in the church between a man and a woman. Some of my gay friends want to go that extra step, into marriage and not just a civil union, for the same reason that heterosexual couples get married . What bothers me is that the people of Florida voted on an issue(that just happens to be gay marriage) and a group of judges negated their vote. What if the people of Florida had voted IN FAVOR of gay marriage and a group of judges had negated THAT vote ? An election by we the people should never be able to be overturned.

18% seems like a high percentage
