According to former Defense Secretary and Director of the CIA Robert Gates, who slammed Obama's leadership style in a new book coming out next week, both Hillary Clinton and President Obama admitted that opposition to the "surge" in Iraq was "political."
Gates also talks about the President's abrupt shifts in policy such as his decision to call for an end to "don't ask, don't tell" with one day's notice. He concluded that these agreements with the Obama White House "were good for only as long as they were politically convenient."
