Former Human Resource Director filed Discrimination suit--Lake Worth to settle

Germaine English

On Tuesday night, there is a settlement agreement with our former Human Resource Director who "went missing" as a few of them have in Lake Worth.  English filed a charge with the EEOC. We are not told in the back-up as to how she believes she was discriminated. Perhaps it was Retaliation, one of the most frequent types of charges in the workplace. Harassment?  Civil rights?

Germaine English filed a Notice of Discrimination Charge with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). During the mediation with the EEOC a Settlement Agreement and General Release was agreed upon. Pursuant to the Settlement Agreement and General Release, it was agreed upon that:
  • one check for two weeks of vacation pay ($4,200 less applicable taxes, deductions and withholding), which will be payable to Germaine English in keeping with the City of Lake Worth’s normal payroll practices;
  • one check payable to Germaine English in the amount of $30,335, less applicable taxes, deductions and withholding;
  • one check made payable to the Darfoor Law Firm, P.A. in the amount of $17,265.00.
  • She has agreed not to file any future lawsuits

WTF??? This amount needs to be taken out of Mike Bornsteins paycheck. He is the City Manager and ultimately to blame for yet ANOTHER STUPID DECISION by Lake Worth administration!!No wonder we can't get even minimal maintenance on our roads. Unless Bornstein is fired along with our city attorney Torcivia(who probably gave the go ahead on her firing)I am voting NO on the stupid bond!

Bornstein is ignoring the roads and the potholes in them in order to get voters to vote for the bond.

VOTE AGAINST $40 million for this shady character and his cronies on the Commission on November 8th.

When was she fired? How long was she on the job? Why can't Lake Worth keep employees? What is wrong with management of this city? Can someone please tell us, the residents, what is going on?

I can say this she got what she had coming to her. She fired a lot of excellent knowledgeable experienced employees at CM request and now it is a revolving door. She was not a kind person to work with. CM used her for sure to get rid of people and she was more that willing never standing up for anyone. What about all the employees that CM and her fired where is their law suit. Something smells bad here and it is coming from the CM office

I find it completely pathetic that we "the public aka citizens of lake worth" know for a fact, not think, but know our Commission, our Mayor and definitely our City Manager are the exact definition of corruption but are helpless do anything about it. Mr. Bronstein is getting ANOTHER RAISE in January!! Are you kidding me????

Our city cannot keep any employees because of the mistreatment. Hell look at that Code Officer that we all read about a week ago!!! How many more will be wrongfully and seems to ILLEGALLY terminated??????

Michael Bronstein we HATE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
