Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act passes Senate

Senate advances Lindsey Graham's Russia sanctions bill hours after his funeral

The U.S. Senate cleared a major procedural hurdle on the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act with an 86, 12 vote, just hours after lawmakers attended the late senator's funeral at Washington National Cathedral.

Senators filed from the cathedral to the Capitol on Tuesday and did something rare in modern Washington: they voted overwhelmingly, across party lines, to advance a sweeping sanctions package that the late South Carolina Republican had spent his final days pushing toward the finish line.

The 86, 12 tally was not close. It was a statement.

The bill bearing Graham's name targets Russian oil and gas exports, extends existing sanctions on Iran's energy and weapons sectors, and hands President Trump authority to impose tariffs of up to 100 percent on the five largest purchasers of Russian crude, a provision aimed squarely at China and India.

It also imposes primary and secondary sanctions on Russian officials, oligarchs, their family members, Russian banks, and the so-called Russian Shadow Fleet of tankers used to skirt existing restrictions.

Darline Graham filed to run for Senator

Darline Graham Nordone enters South Carolina Senate race to carry on her brother's legacy

Darline Graham Nordone, the late Sen. Lindsey Graham's sister and his appointed interim successor, announced Monday she will seek the Republican nomination for a full Senate term, with President Trump's endorsement already in hand.

Nordone made the announcement during a Fox News interview with Sean Hannity, ending days of speculation about whether she would move from caretaker to candidate. "I've made a decision. I'm in," she said.

The filing window for the August 11 special Republican primary opens Tuesday, and Nordone will enter a field that already includes two South Carolina congressmen.

The announcement caps a rapid sequence of events that began with Graham's sudden death on July 11. The 71-year-old senator died from a suspected aortic dissection after traveling to the NATO leaders summit in Turkey and meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv hours before he fell ill. He had been favored to win a fifth Senate term in November.

South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster, a close Trump ally, appointed Nordone to serve out the final months of Graham's current term. She was sworn in on July 14, becoming the first woman to represent South Carolina in the United States Senate. The appointment came just 48 hours after Graham's passing.

Trump calls in to Jake Tapper's show on Lindsey Graham

Trump Snaps at Jake Tapper: “Talk About the Reason You Asked Me to Speak”

Jake Tapper changes subject to Iran--Trump says to Stick to Lindsey Graham After Iran Question

President Trump called into CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday for what was supposed to be a discussion about the sudden death of Senator Lindsey Graham. But the interview quickly took a turn.

Jake Tapper brought up Graham’s support for recent U.S. strikes against Iran, then moved straight into questions about whether America was back at war and who controlled the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump was not interested in letting the segment get dragged away from Graham.

Tapper pressed again, asking about Iran’s claim that the Strait of Hormuz had been closed. Trump shut that down too.
“It’s open as far as we’re concerned. Don’t talk about it. Talk about the reason that you asked me to speak,” Trump said.
Tapper then moved back to Graham and asked if Trump had any final words for Americans about the senator. He did.

Lindsey Graham had Iran Death Threats

Lindsey Graham brushed off Iran's threats just five days before his sudden death

Five days before he died, Sen. Lindsey Graham posted a photo on X showing Iranian mourners parading a poster with a bullseye over his face. His response was seven words long: "At least they used a good photo of me."

Graham added one more line, "Judge me by my enemies", and went back to work. He flew to Ukraine. He toured a drone factory. He met with President Volodymyr Zelensky. He announced a deal on Russia sanctions. Then he came home and, one day later, was dead at 71.

The South Carolina Republican's death from what his office called a "brief and sudden illness" closed a career defined by an unapologetic willingness to confront hostile regimes, and by a final week that captured that posture in miniature. The New York Post reported that emergency dispatch calls suggested Graham experienced chest pain followed by a heart attack, though no official cause of death has been confirmed.

National Review reported the cause as sudden cardiac arrest, placing Graham's death on Saturday night, July 11, 2026. He had returned from Kyiv, his tenth trip to Ukraine since Russia's full-scale invasion, just one day earlier.

Lindsey Graham dead at 71

Sen. Lindsey Graham dies at 71 after ‘brief and sudden illness’

President Donald Trump led tributes to Graham, a leading Republican voice on defense and foreign policy, describing him as a “true American Patriot.”

Graham was chairman of the Senate Budget Committee and was seeking a fifth six-year Senate term in November. He was one of the most well-known members of the chamber and a key voice within the party on defense and foreign policy.

Emergency personnel responded to a call for “cardiac arrest” at Graham’s Capitol Hill home on Saturday night, according to police scanner audio obtained by NBC News.

Lindsey Graham confronts NBC Kristen Welker

Check It Out, Lindsey Graham Got It Right, For Once- Demolished NBC Talking Head

Senator Lindsey Graham delivered a blistering and righteous critique on Sunday, directly confronting the liberal media’s hypocrisy as personified by NBC’s Kristen Welker.

As Welker attempted to complain about the federal prosecution of New York Attorney General Letitia James, Graham dismantled her narrative with the force of undeniable truth. He exposed the profound double standard that has defined the left’s weaponization of the justice system for years, a tactic that is finally being corrected under the strong leadership of President Donald Trump.

The context for this exchange is the damning indictment of Letitia James herself. A federal grand jury has charged the corrupt New York Attorney General with two serious crimes: Bank Fraud and False Statements to a Financial Institution. The charges stem from her dealings with a mortgage loan on a property in Norfolk, Virginia, which she fraudulently claimed would be a secondary residence.

In a stunning contradiction, James then treated the property as a rental investment, declaring the income on her taxes and completely exposing her deceitful scheme.

The conservative commentator, who is known for his skepticism towards America's support for Ukraine in their war in Russia, pointed to the fact that the notorious war hawk Lindsey Graham criticized Zelensky's conduct in the wake of the meeting.

Destroy Iran's nuclear program

Senators John Fetterman and Lindsey Graham Come Together to Agree on One Policy Proposal

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., and Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., are united on one thing: destroying Iran's nuclear program.

"I don't think diplomacy works," Graham stated on "Face the Nation." He described Iran as a "religious Nazi regime" intent on destroying Israel.

Graham expressed hope for action. "I am hoping there will be an effort by Israel to decimate the Iran nuclear program, supported by the United States. And if we don't do that it will be a historical mistake," he said.

Fetterman echoed Graham's stance. "One Hundred Percent," he wrote in a post on X, backing the call to action.

Graham acknowledged the support. "Spot on, @SenFettermanPA. You get it," he replied.

Lindsey Speaks Out on Future and Potential Legal Actions

Lindsey Graham Foresees Biden, Mayorkas Prosecutions If Trump Prevails

In an incisive CNN interview, Senator Lindsey Graham speculated on potential legal action against President Joe Biden and Alejandro Mayorkas if Donald Trump claims victory in the impending elections.

According to Breitbart News, Senator Lindsey Graham highlighted possible investigations into President Biden and Alejandro Mayorkas, the Secretary of Homeland Security, concerning their roles in border management and the controversy over Hunter Biden's laptop.

These investigations hinge on the outcome of November's presidential election, where a win for former President Trump could shift the focus drastically.

Graham highlighted suspected legal abuses related to border policies and the Hunter Biden laptop controversy, suggesting a rigorous examination if there is a change in administration.

His statements point to an intensified scrutiny that could reshape current narratives and possibly influence the political landscape and policy directions in the United States.

"See you in The Hague," says Lindsey Graham to Putin

Russia Adds US Senator to ‘Terrorist and Extremist’ List

Well, it seems like 2024 is shaping up to be quite the year – and we’re not talking about the Olympics.

In a twist that reads more like an episode of “House of Cards” than reality, Russia has bestowed upon Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) the dubious honor of being added to their list of “extremists and terrorists.”

This all started when Graham had the audacity – or the common sense, depending on who you ask – to suggest that Russia should be designated a state sponsor of terrorism. Quite the bold move, don’t you think?

But hey, let’s not forget that Graham is a man known for his penchant for penalties against Russia. He’s no stranger to stirring the pot.

Border Security--No such thing under Biden

Graham says Biden border policies ‘bit them in the ass’

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Sunday argued the Biden administration’s policies on the U.S. southern border “bit them in the ass,” calling the border a “national security nightmare.”

“Our border is a national security nightmare,” Graham said in an interview on NBC News’s “Meet the Press.” “[The Biden administration] chose bad policies. It’s bit them in the ass, and we’re not going to continue these stupid policies. We’re going to change them.”

Border security remains at the center of negotiations between the Senate and the White House as the upper chamber seeks to strike a potential deal to unlock aid for Ukraine, Israel and border security measures.

Mayorkas and Biden need to be impeached.

RESTRICT ACT: Is it really a TikTok ban?

Sen. Lindsey Graham was unable to explain why controversial federal powers were slipped into the RESTRICT Act, a bill co-sponsored by the Republican lawmaker that was sold to the public as a TikTok ban.

Jesse Watters interviewed Graham on Wednesday night’s episode of “Jesse Watters Primetime” on Fox News, and the media personality interviewed Graham after raising civil liberty concerns regarding the RESTRICT Act’s potential for locking up political opponents based on wrongthink.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson earlier this week said that the RESTRICT Act gives the federal government unprecedented power to surveil and arrest American citizens, Valiant News reported.

“This bill would give enormous and terrifying new powers to the federal government to punish American citizens and regulate how they communicate with one another,” Carlson said.

The Confusing Lindsey Graham

RINO Lindsey Graham Rushes to Biden’s Defense Over Classified Doc Scandal

I've never been able to figure out Lindsey Graham...can anyone?

On Tuesday, Senator Lindsey Graham was quick to come to the defense of Joe Biden, who has been put under investigation after classified documents were discovered in his private home. Instead of speaking out against him and reprimanding him for the scandal, Graham instead stated that he didn’t believe anything sinister was going on.

Nothing sinister? That's classic when you consider the entire Biden crime family and what has been discovered and now well known.

MTG BASHES RINO Lindsey Graham for Supporting Gun Control

Fake Republican Lindsey Graham recently called for gun control and announced that he would support restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms on Twitter, saying:
I stand ready to vote on ALL the proposals mentioned by President Biden tonight and encourage the Democratic Leader to bring them forward for votes.

I also stand ready to work across the aisle to find common ground – something that was absent from President Biden’s address to the nation.

Ketanji Brown Jackson gives excuses for representing GITMO terrorists

KBJ All Of Sudden Goes Silent After Her Words Come Back To Bite Her, Doesn’t ‘Remember That Accusation’

For someone who had so much to say, KBJ suddenly went silent after her own words came back to haunt her when she claimed that detaining those at GITMO made our government a war criminal.

Senator Lindsey Graham told KBJ that she went “too far” after she claimed members of the United States Government were “war criminals” for detaining enemy combatants at Guantanamo Bay.

KBJ played dumb and said she doesn’t “remember that accusation” and was just writing a complaint for the client she was assigned to by the federal public defenders office.

They gave her Hell for congratulating Lindsey Graham

Dianne Feinstein Steps Down As Head Of Judiciary Committee After Backlash From Progressives

Supposedly, the Democrat party wants to "bring us all together."

Yeah, right!

"Feinstein was widely criticized by the radical left after she was seen hugging Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-SC) at the end of Barrett’s confirmation hearings.

“Mr. Chairman, I just want to thank you,” Feinstein said to Graham as the hearing was ending. “This has been one of the best Senate hearings that I’ve participated in, and I want to thank you for your fairness and the opportunity of going back and forth.”[Lifezette]

Obama won't be called in front of Judiciary Committee

Republican Senator Says He Will NOT Call Obama to Testify in Obamagate Scandal

With all of the details that we’re learning about the Russian hoax and spying AKA Obamagate, one would think that it’s time to question former President Barack Obama, but Graham, who is Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee says he’s not planning on doing it.

Obama was behind the unmasking of Flynn or condoned it and his cohorts leaked it and ruined Flynn's life. People need to be held accountable for this illegal investigation of Flynn and an incoming president they wanted to get rid of by hook or by crook. I want to see all of these actors appear before the Judiciary Committee and testify under oath.

Quote of the day - Lindsey Graham

“In the next appropriations bill, there’s not going to be any money for the W.H.O. I’m in charge of the appropriations subcommittee. I’m not going to support funding the W.H.O. under its current leadership. They’ve been deceptive, they’ve been slow, and they’ve been Chinese apologists.

I don’t think they’re a good investment, under the current leadership, for the United States. And until they change their behavior and get new leadership, I think it’s in America’s best interests to withhold funding.”
