Yesterday, 8,132,250 voted for governor with Ron DeSantis getting 49.8% of the vote or 4,046,020 votes to become our next governor. In highly Democrat stronghold, DeSantis won 41.29% in Palm Beach County with Gillum taking 57.99%. Ironically, Gillum, a socialist, received millions for his campaign from two billionaires.
I went to bed before the Senate race was called but Rick Scott won by 50.2% of the vote or 4,067,686 votes and outed Bill Nelson who had retained that job since 2000. Scott won 41.74% in Palm Beach County with Nelson taking 58.26%. According to the center, nearly $160 million has been spent on Nelson’s match-up with Gov. Rick Scott.

Message from Rick Scott
Senator Nelson has given Floridians yet another reason not to trust him and has shown once again why it is so important that we get your help to defeat him in November.
Nelson has a long history of supporting tax increases and healthcare mandates — but he has branded his staff as “independent contractors” to avoid providing his team with health care benefits or paying payroll tax.
Payroll tax especially is a massive source of funding for Medicare and Social Security, two programs that Nelson claims he's fighting to protect.
It seems as though the Senator is all for expanding healthcare access and Medicare benefits, just as long as it doesn’t affect him.
Bill Nelson expects Floridians to believe he will act in our best interests, yet he refuses even to take care of his own staff. How can Nelson justify raising our taxes, when he is finding ways around paying his own?
The answer is, he can’t. It’s wrong, and it’s why I need your help to defeat him in November: https://secure.rickscottforflorida.com/
.
Such blatant hypocrisy could only come from a career politician, and Floridians deserve better. If we’re going to change Washington, I’m going to need your help. We must start by getting rid of Senators who think they are above the very laws they create.
Please support Team Scott, and let’s show Nelson how to win an election the right way.

Marco Rubio never could climb out of the Gang of 8 hole that he put himself in...that was his ultimate downfall while seeking the nomination for President of the United States.

Republicans bring Immigration S 744 over the top on cloture vote
Comment Up
NumbersUSA says, today, 68 Senators cast votes that will be very difficult to ever redeem with future actions.
After all the promises of "enforcement first," these Senators accepted an entirely "amnesty first" bill that in the first few months would give work permits and legalization to some 11 million foreign citizens who either (a) crossed the border illegally, most of them by paying drug cartels and many of them by helping the cartels move drugs, or who (b) violated the promises on their vacation and guest visas and illegally took U.S. jobs (often through identity theft and fraud) and a share of the taxpayer-provided infrastructure.
Every single Democratic Senator voted YES to the amnesty and to the arguments of corporate lobbyists that a nation -- with 20 million Americans unable to find full-time jobs in a country plagued with labor shortages -- must give out 33 million new lifetime work permits to foreign citizens over the next decade. And these Republican Senators voted YES to the same provisions, breaking with the majority of their Party and all their Party leaders in the Senate:
Alexander (R-TN) Ayotte (R-NH) Chiesa (R-NJ) Collins (R-ME) Corker (R-TN) Flake (R-AZ) Graham (R-SC) Hatch (R-UT) Heller (R-NV) Hoeven (R-ND) Kirk (R-IL) McCain (R-AZ) Murkowski (R-AK) Rubio (R-FL)
Marco Rubio and Bill Nelson did not listen nor were they interested in the 19,000 signatures we presented to them against S 744 just a few weeks ago nor did they listen to their base.

Remember 1986 Coalition Sum Up
Click here to read about the 50 separate organizations that banded together under the banner "Remember 1986 Coalition." With a unified voice they asked Senators, the press, and fellow Americans to remember the broken promises of the 1986 amnesty bill and warned to not let it happen again.
In thirty-four states, from New York to Washington, organized press conferences took place. Many NumbersUSA activists took part in the press conferences talking about the major flaws in the Gang of 8's amnesty bill. Others attended meetings with Senate staffers and delivered our Say No to Amnesty petition signatures to Senate offices.
Palm Beach county was mentioned.

The Gang of Eight - Sí, se puede!
Comment Up

Yesterday our gang of eight (a symbolic number of citizens) visited the offices of congressman Bill Nelson and Marco Rubio. We were on a mission and to make a statement: 19,000 signatures of Floridians against the Gang of Eight's Immigration plan were handed over to regional Directors, Michele McGovern for Senator Nelson and to Greg Langowski of Senator Marco Rubio's office. We told them why we were against the Plan and why we believed it would hurt American citizens and our country.
As friend Joyce Tarnow says and what our local Gang of Eight advocates, "E-Verify is the answer. By disallowing illegal aliens to hold jobs in the U.S. they go home. It works, as the situation in Arizona proves when they passed mandatory E-Verify. Remember 1986. Congress gave amnesties to three million illegals and promised to secure our borders and to seriously go after interior enforcement. Oh yes, and Congress promised there would be no more amnesties. Amnesty happened for well over three million and they were then allowed to bring in extended family. Another draw is the birthright citizenship interpretation of the 14th Amendment which awards citizenship to any child born in the U.S. of illegal aliens."
Our local Gang of Eight, a bipartisan group of Republicans, Democrats and Independents, believe that it is a self-defeating, déjà vu comprehensive mess of a plan that undermines border security and will destroy the middle class. We will end up with the Haves and the Have Nots. We will have dwindling water resources, overcrowding and increased pollution but most importantly, less and less jobs for American middle class citizens. That's the message we presented yesterday and how disappointed we were with Marco Rubio, a senator with whom we usually agree.
Also, yesterday, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to approve the nation’s proposed immigration law on a bipartisan vote of 13 to 5. It now goes on to the Senate. "The move came as the committee reached a deal on one of the final snags threatening the legislation — and agreed to hold off on another particularly controversial amendment, which would have added protections for same-sex couples."
When the committee voted to approve the legislation Tuesday evening, a cheer and applause rang out through the room, as immigration advocates leapt to their feet, shouting “Yes we can!” and “Sí, se puede!” This is where we are heading folks but the cry should be No, no debemos. When speaking about Rubio, Billy Kristol said, “He should say, I made a good faith effort, but you know what, this is not a piece of legislation.”

Heading home, we came upon a Border Control car. We all drove by giving the driver a thumbs up. He's trying to do his job. Now it will be up to our elected representatives. Are they up to the task?

Remember Amnesty 1986
From NumbersUSA
Tomorrow, members of grassroots organizations from around the country will launch a coordinated event to send a message to their US Senators: Remember 1986!
In 1986, our government promised to secure our borders. Instead, they granted amnesty to millions of illegal aliens and never enacted real solutions to stop illegal immigration.
In Palm Beach, fellow NumbersUSA activists will be delivering the NumbersUSA petition to the offices of Senator Rubio and Senator Nelson. They will meet with staff members in the offices to discuss the major flaws in the Gang of 8's amnesty bill including the language that would allow 33 million new foreign workers to live and work in our country while 20 million people here today cannot find a full time job.
The group will start with a meeting in Sen. Nelson's office then head to Sen. Rubio's office for a press conference before sitting down with Rubio's staff. The petitions will be delivered to the following addresses on tomorrow, May 21st:
10 a.m.: Sen. Bill Nelson's West Palm Beach Office
413 Clematis Street, Suite 210, West Palm Beach, FL 33401
1 p.m. Sen Marco Rubio's Palm Beach Gardens office
4580 PGA Blvd., Suite 201, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33418
You are welcomed to join us and give your support.
