ABC spent years telling the federal government that The View is serious journalism. Joy Behar just blew that argument to pieces.

And Joy Behar said something about Donald Trump on live TV that may cost Disney its broadcast license. Wednesday's broadcast – where Behar implied the sitting president performs sex acts with animals – is going to be Exhibit A in whatever hearing comes next.

The setup was a Senate hearing clip – one the left-wing media chopped and edited to remove all context. FBI Director Kash Patel was explaining something critical: the FBI's new hiring guidelines exist partly to help sex trafficking victims. Women who were trafficked, forced into prostitution and bestiality by their captors, wanted to help other victims after escaping.

The old FBI rules barred them from service because of what was done to them. Wednesday's broadcast – where a co-host implied the sitting president performs sex acts with animals – is going to be Exhibit A in whatever hearing comes next.

This Is a Pattern, Not a Slip--Behar has a history of saying exactly the wrong thing at exactly the wrong moment for ABC's legal position.

Less than a year ago, ABC yanked Kimmel off the air after FCC Chairman Brendan Carr called his Charlie Kirk death jokes "truly sick" and threatened Disney's broadcast licenses. Nexstar and Sinclair – two of the country's biggest affiliate groups – immediately pulled the show from their stations.

Kimmel returned only after apologizing on air, voice breaking, swearing he never meant to make light of anyone's death.

The show has become a revolving door of left-wing politics disguised as late night entertainment – and now it's openly daring regulators to respond.

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr was blunt when Kimmel's show was suspended last fall: companies either act on their own or face regulatory action.

ABC begged its own viewers last month to help save The View from federal regulators.

The FCC's answer arrived this week and it was not the one Disney wanted.

Brendan Carr's agency just moved against Disney in a way that could end more than one show.

The Federal Communications Commission is preparing to rule that The View is not a bona fide news program – a decision that would strip Disney's flagship gabfest of a 20 year old legal shield.

That shield is the only thing standing between Whoopi Goldberg's table and the FCC's equal time rule.

Lose it, and every time a Democrat candidate sits at that table, ABC has to hand identical airtime to the Republican running against them.

Revoke ABC, NBC's FCC Licenses for Dem Bias

Continuing his crusade against leftist mainstream media outlets ABC and NBC for being "simply an arm of the Democrat Party" and a "threat to our democracy," President Donald Trump is renewing the threat of revoking their broadcast licenses.

"Why is it that ABC and NBC Fake News, two of the absolute worst and most biased networks anywhere in the world, aren't paying millions of dollars a year in license fees," Trump wrote in the second of two Truth Social posts.

"They should lose their licenses for their unfair coverage of Republicans and/or conservatives, but at a minimum, they should pay up BIG for having the privilege of using the most valuable airwaves anywhere at anytime!!!

"Crooked 'journalism' should not be rewarded, it should be terminated!!!"

FCC Chair Brendan Carr said in April, while license revocation is an extreme punishment — what he termed the "regulatory death penalty" — it remains within the FCC's toolkit for broadcasters who fail to serve the public interest. He said that they have a public-interest obligation that has not been enforced.

Top Christian broadcaster fighting government demand for 'public shaming rule'

A fight involving a Christian broadcaster based in Medford, Oregon, reaching out via radio and television, holds the potential now for a significant ruling that federal bureaucracies are supposed to do what Congress tells them to do – not more.

It is the Dove Radio & Television that is contesting demands by the Federal Communications Commission that it start monitoring, recording, reporting and even publicizing the makeup of its employees, their race and sex.

It's a type of fight that has come up before, and will come up again: Bureaucrats decide that Congress has given them an authority so they try to impose requirements that are not necessarily germane to that task.

Perry Atkinson, president and CEO of the broadcaster, told WND that his organization, unlike many avenues for communication in 2024 America, is already highly regulated.

It would end up being a "controlled speech" agenda, as the station would be required to constantly monitor all comments and issues to make sure nothing controversial would be expressed.

"Brendan Carr, one of two Republican members of the five-member Federal Communications Commission, warned Thursday on Newsmax about an effort by a foreign company founded by liberal billionaire George Soros that is seeking to fast-track the purchase of more than 200 radio stations in the U.S.

In February, Soros Fund Management reportedly purchased $400 million of debt in Audacy, which is the No. 2 U.S. broadcaster behind iHeartMedia. Audacy, which owns more than 220 stations nationwide and reaches 165 million monthly listeners, features a number of conservative shows from hosts that include Erick Erickson, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, and Dana Loesch.

FCC rules prohibit giving a radio station license to a company if more than 25% of its controlling interest is held by a foreign individual, government, or entity.

To assume control of Audacy, the FCC would need to make an exception for Soros Fund Management."

The withdrawal of Gigi Sohn‘s nomination to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has been hailed as a major victory for Republicans and a strong reminder of the importance of bipartisanship.

The Biden administration had nominated Sohn in October 2021, but the nomination was met with opposition from both sides of the aisle, as well as from cable and media industry lobbyists. The announcement of her withdrawal came after Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) said that he would vote against her, costing Democrats a crucial vote if her nomination made it to the floor.

Sohn had been one of the chief architects of net neutrality under the Obama administration, a policy which was reversed by the free-market types who ran the FCC under former President Donald Trump. This record, and her social media posts, made it difficult for the Senate to hold a floor vote on her confirmation.

In a statement, Ms. Sohn said she was withdrawing because of attacks on her record as an advocate that she said came from “legions of cable and media industry lobbyists, their bought-and-paid-for surrogates, and dark money political groups.”

The FCC dropped a bomb on China with a new ban on certain imports.

“The Federal Communications Commission on Friday announced it has adopted new rules banning communications equipment from several Chinese companies from being imported to or sold in the United States, due to the ‘unacceptable risk to national security,'” reported Breitbart.

“The rules prohibit equipment and services from Chinese electronics companies Huawei Technologies and ZTE Corporation, as well as two-way radio maker Hytera Communications, and connected-camera providers Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology and Dahua Technology, as well as their subsidiaries and affiliates,” reported Breitbart.
