U.S. will not attend G20 in South Africa

It serves as the main forum for international economic cooperation and meets to discuss pressing global issues.

President Donald Trump said Friday that no U.S. government officials would be attending the Group of 20 summit this year in South Africa, citing the country's treatment of white farmers.

Trump had announced he would not attend the annual summit for heads of state from the globe's leading and emerging economies. Vice President JD Vance had been scheduled to attend in Trump's place, but a person familiar with Vance's plans who was granted anonymity to talk about his schedule said Vance would no longer travel there for the summit.

"It is a total disgrace that the G20 will be held in South Africa," Trump wrote on Truth Social. He cited "abuses" of Afrikaners, including violence and death as well as confiscation of their land and farms.

The G20 Johannesburg Summit will be the twentieth meeting of the Group of Twenty, a meeting of heads of state and government planned from 22 to 23 November 2025. It will be the first G20 summit held in Johannesburg, South Africa and on the African continent.

Many Democrats did not attend the speech, and Vice President Harris did not co-preside over the joint meeting with House Speaker Mike Johnson.

Mike Johnson, noting the inappropriateness of a senator stepping in for Harris, stated, “It’s, to me, unconscionable that Kamala Harris is denying that responsibility and boycotting the event.” The last time a rank-and-file senator stood in for a vice president was in 1989.

Several have already said they would boycott his address in protest – prompting a furious backlash from the House GOP.

It's funny how they NEVER mention that terrorist Hamas started this war, killing 1,200 Israelis and taking over 200 hostages. That seems to escape their little liberal minds.

The Bud Light Boycott Appears to Be Working

Dave Williams of Bump Williams Consulting told industry website Brewbound that packages of Bud Light showed accelerating declines in sales and shares for the week ending April 8, when the boycott started to pick up steam. He cited NIQ data for his assertion.

“That being said, while the increased declines for Bud Light were apparent, they were also not completely earth-shattering in terms of magnitude,” Williams wrote in a note, according to the publication. “Now, this will be interesting to monitor over upcoming weeks to see if this slide continues, but for now, it looks to be rough, but not catastrophic.”

Widespread calls to boycott Bud Light were triggered earlier this month after Mulvaney, a male who claims to be female, posted about getting commemorative cans of Bud Light with his likeness on the label. Mulvaney and Bud Light’s parent company, Anheuser-Busch, confirmed they were involved in a campaign.

Well, I won't be one of the people boycotting Bud Light...hate beer and I don't drink anything stronger than a ginger ale.
