Illegal crossings at our border at historic low

Trump Administration Delivers 16 Straight Months of Zero Releases at the Border

“Sixteen straight months of zero releases at the border proves that President Trump’s policies are working,” said DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin. “Catch and release is over, consequences are back, and illegal crossings have fallen to historic lows.

President Trump made a promise to the American people that he would make America safe again, and he has done just that by giving us the most secure border in American history.”

The sustained decline in illegal border crossings and apprehensions – now at levels not seen in over three decades – shows the profound impact of robust enforcement policies. With daily apprehensions down 94% from the previous administration, the border remains more secure than at any point in history.

“Border security starts with knowing who and what is entering our country – and controlling it on behalf of the American people,” said CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott. “That means people who cross illegally are apprehended, detained and removed – not released into the United States. Our agents are enforcing that standard every day.”

Illegal crossings in August remained historically low:
  • U.S. Border Patrol apprehensions decreased in August--The U.S. Border Patrol’s apprehensions along the southwest border in August (8,870) were 5% lower than in July. Nationwide, the Border Patrol’s apprehensions in August (10,939) were 3% lower than the previous month.
  • Southwest border apprehensions were 94% lower than under Biden--The U.S. Border Patrol’s apprehensions along the southwest border in August were 94% lower than the monthly average of the Biden administration; 97% below the peak of the Biden administration (December 2023); and less than what was apprehended in 5 days in August 2024.
  • Zero parole releases--The U.S. Border Patrol released zero illegal aliens in August, compared with 10,186 released by the Border Patrol under the Biden administration along the southwest border in August 2024.

Asylum claims at the border

Supreme Court backs federal power to turn away asylum seekers at the border

The Supreme Court ruled 6, 3 on Thursday that the federal government may turn back asylum seekers at the U.S., Mexico border before they set foot on American soil, handing the Trump administration a major legal victory in its effort to control who enters the country and when.

Justice Samuel Alito, writing for the conservative majority, held that a migrant standing in Mexico has not legally "arrived in the United States" and therefore cannot demand asylum screening under the Immigration and Nationality Act.

The decision reverses a Ninth Circuit ruling that had blocked the practice known as "metering", a policy that caps the number of daily asylum applications accepted at ports of entry. With that lower-court barrier now removed, the administration regains a tool it has called essential to managing the southern border.

The practical meaning is plain: border officials are not required to inspect or process asylum claims until a person physically crosses onto U.S. soil. For years, immigrant-rights groups argued the opposite, that presenting yourself to a U.S. officer at the border line was enough to trigger legal protections. Six justices disagreed.

Justice Alito grounded the majority opinion in common sense and statutory text. As the New York Post reported, Alito wrote:
"In ordinary speech, no one would say that a person arrives in a place, for example, a house, a city, or a country, before the person enters that place."

Democrats Gambled on the Longest DHS Shutdown in American History – and Lost

Democrats Triggered the Longest DHS Shutdown in History and Now Republicans Are Making Them Pay for It

Democrats shut down the Department of Homeland Security in February rather than fund ICE.

They held out for months, demanding reforms, insisting on "accountability," and blocking the agents who protect your neighborhood from being funded.

Now Republicans are finishing the job – $70 billion for ICE and Border Patrol – and Democrats couldn't slow it down by a single vote.

In mid-February, Democrats refused to vote for ICE and Border Patrol funding. Their stated reason: two U.S. citizens were fatally shot by immigration enforcement agents in Minneapolis during a Trump deportation operation.

Their actual goal: gut the enforcement machinery that's been removing criminal illegal aliens from American soil at a record pace. So DHS shut down – the longest partial shutdown of the department in American history.

More Illegals crossing our border

200 Border Patrol agents headed for Texas amid illegal crossings surge

At least 200 federal immigration agents are being sent to a border town in Texas where illegal border crossings have spiked amid the Trump administration’s claims the U.S.-Mexico border is secure.

The 200 agents otherwise assigned to the country’s northern and southern borders will be deployed to Laredo for 30 days to assist local Border Patrol employees who are dealing with a significant increase in immigrants attempting to enter the country illegally from Mexico each day.

NewsNation sources also say the surge in federal agents will include those from Customs and Border Protection’s BORTAC unit, a special operations group often brought in to assist with field operations.

Department of Homeland Security data obtained exclusively by NewsNation shows there were 2,600 encounters between federal agents and migrants in the Laredo Sector in March and April — a 50% increase from the previous two months. The 1,400 reported encounters in Laredo this month represent an 86% spike from April 2025, DHS reported.

Sources tell NewsNation that the Trump administration plans to expand the border wall through Laredo, but the city has pushed back on the expansion. City officials have expressed concerns about the wall running through residential areas of Laredo and eliminating river views for residents there.

Who would have thought it would be this difficult to secure our border and finish the wall in order to keep Americans safe from criminals and cartels.

Funding ICE and Border Control

Senate GOP to Begin Process for Funding ICE, Border Patrol Next Week

This comes amid the Department of Homeland Security having been shut down for 59 days

Senate Republicans are planning a vote as soon as next week on a budget blueprint that would pave the way for a party-line vote to fund Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) announced on April 14.

Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland Security has been shut down for 59 days. While ICE and CBP are funded due to last year’s tax-and-spend megabill, agencies such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) have been without funding due to deadlock over Senate Democrats’ demands for reforms to immigration enforcement.

A bill to fund all of DHS except for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol has passed the Senate and is pending in the House.

Separately, Republicans are looking to fund ICE and Border Patrol for three years, or the rest of President Donald Trump’s administration, through a process called reconciliation.

This allows bills related to taxing, spending, and the national debt to pass the Senate with a simple majority and not be subject to the 60-vote procedural threshold that applies to most legislation.

Senate Democrats used a funding fight to try to gut immigration enforcement

Three House Democrats defy Jeffries, vote with Republicans to fund DHS and immigration enforcement

Three House Democrats broke ranks with Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries on Friday and voted to fully fund the Department of Homeland Security, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol.

Reps. Henry Cuellar of Texas, Don Davis of North Carolina, and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington joined 209 House Republicans and independent Rep. Kevin Kiley of California in backing Speaker Mike Johnson's 60-day funding patch.

According to the Washington Examiner, the vote handed Johnson a key win after a weeks-long shutdown fight over immigration enforcement, and it exposed a crack in the Democratic wall that Jeffries has been working to hold together.

The reason for the crack is simple: the Democratic position is untenable, and a few of their members finally admitted it. Defunding Border Patrol isn't a winning hand.

The top destructive lie by Democrats --the border is secure

ESPN’s Smith Says Trump Was Right to Secure Border

Calls Out Biden for Lying About Crisis

For years, conservatives were warning anyone who would listen about the catastrophe unfolding at our southern border. For years, the mainstream media and Democratic politicians dismissed them as xenophobes and fear-mongers.

Nothing to see here, they insisted. The border is secure said Biden and Biden's Border Czar, Kamala. Go back to sleep, America.

Funny how things change. Now, one of the most recognizable personalities in sports media is saying something that might make his ESPN colleagues choke on their lattes. And what he’s admitting should make every American who was gaslit about this crisis feel more than a little vindicated.
From Breitbart:
“The borders needed to be closed. [Trump] was right to do that, but only because Biden opened them. Had Biden followed Barack Obama’s method and his plan, and what he did in deporting even more people than Trump did in his first term, you wouldn’t hear me saying that.

“But when you let anywhere from 12 to 15 million people cross the border illegally, swearing in our face, spitting in our face, while telling us it’s raining, figuratively speaking, by telling us there was no border crisis when clearly there was, emergency efforts were necessary.”
Stephen A. Smith is a man who has spent decades swimming in the mainstream media current just declared that President Trump was correct to secure the border. He also accused the Biden administration of flat-out lying to the American people about the mess they created.

Democrats own the Government Shutdown, again

Trump blames Democrats for shutdown

Touts falling gas prices and crime numbers aboard Air Force One

President Trump pinned the ongoing partial government shutdown squarely on Democrats Monday, telling reporters aboard Air Force One that the impasse over Department of Homeland Security funding has "nothing to do with Republicans" and accused the opposition of resisting election integrity measures because "they want to cheat in elections."

Trump spoke while flying from Palm Beach International Airport back to Washington, framing the shutdown as a consequence of Democratic obstruction on voter ID, proof-of-citizenship requirements, and immigration enforcement.

He also claimed a string of economic and public safety wins for his administration, pointing to low inflation and falling fuel costs.

The partial government shutdown continues with no deal in sight. At its center: funding for the Department of Homeland Security and a widening disagreement over what conditions come attached to it.

Every time the debate turns to border enforcement or election security, Democrats find a reason to change the subject. The SAVE Act asks for something most Americans consider common sense: prove you're a citizen before you vote. That this is a dealbreaker tells you everything about Democratic priorities.

Blue States will have to ask for help from DHS for protesters

Ask me nicely

Jerry McConway from Realtalk digest says, Trump is now pulling all federal agents out of Democrat cities in terms of providing assistance with riots and protests, requiring city and state leaders to ask for help. He posted to Truth Social, “I have instructed Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, that under no circumstances are we going to participate in various poorly run Democrat Cities with regard to their Protests and/or Riots unless, and until, they ask us for help.”

Trump continued, “We will, however, guard, and very powerfully so, any and all Federal Buildings that are being attacked by these highly paid Lunatics, Agitators, and Insurrectionists. Please be aware that I have instructed ICE and/or Border Patrol to be very forceful in this protection of Federal Government Property.”

I have to admit, I am not against this tactic by Trump. And I would also note that people seem to be forgetting one question… how did we get here? Were it not for Joe Biden opening up the borders and blue states embracing sanctuary status, ICE would not have to come to these cities in the first place.

And let’s also remember that the American people voted for this immigration crackdown. Trump never hid his intentions on this front, so spare me the faux outrage now that he is delivering on his promise.

Can the madness end in Minneapolis?

Trump Says He Wants to De-escalate in Minnesota

Border Patrol chief Greg Bovino was replaced by White House border czar Tom Homan this week to lead the ongoing illegal immigration enforcement.

Trump’s latest comments come after the fatal shooting of an armed man by federal agents Saturday in Minneapolis and pleas from state and local officials to withdraw ICE. The president explained in a Fox News interview Tuesday afternoon that the deescalation isn’t a pullback of resources but rather a change in leadership.

Trump said the ICE protests in Minnesota could be easily resolved but are being led by paid agitators and insurrectionists.

Although there’s been thousands of “hardened” criminals arrested in the state under the leadership of Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino, Trump conceded maybe he wasn’t the right person to lead the mission, dubbed Operation Metro Surge.

“Bovino is very good, but he’s a pretty out there kind of a guy, and in some cases, that’s good,” Trump said on Fox News. “Maybe it wasn’t good here.”

Bovino was replaced by White House border czar Tom Homan this week to lead the ongoing illegal immigration enforcement. As tough as Homan is, Trump said, he gets along with governors and mayors.

Hopefully, Tom Homan will be able to stop the madness in Minneapolis. Trump has changed his leadership there to solve it but Homan will be dealing with the same characters.

Alex Pretti

On Saturday, the national media had a nervous breakdown over a border patrol agent shooting and killing a domestic terrorist who brought a gun and dozens of rounds of ammo to a “mostly peaceful protest.”

Let’s see, the Tampon Tim Brigade brings guns and chomping losers to the icy streets of the Twin Cities. That’s some fiery but mostly peaceful protest Democrats are hosting again in Minneapolis. The New York Times is leading the propaganda team.

Slow Motion video shows armed suspect drawing his gun right before Border Patrol agents take him down in Minneapolis.

He fought arrest. Agents defended themselves.

Democrats have normalized attacking federal officers. This is the bloody result.

DHS conducts daycare audit in Minneapolis

DHS Raids Somali-Linked Daycares in Minneapolis

What is happening in Minneapolis:

The Department of Homeland Security has launched a door to door audit operation in Minneapolis that is focused on daycare centers and related social service operations linked to Somali communities.

Federal teams are checking records, asking how funds were spent, and inspecting hiring practices. Officials say the visits are part of enforcement work tied to suspected welfare fraud, illegal employment, and human smuggling concerns. Local reporters captured agents knocking on doors and interviewing operators in real time.

How big is the operation:

Federal sources describe the effort as a 30 day DHS surge that could include hundreds or even nearly two thousand agents rotating through the area.

The teams reportedly include officers from ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations and Homeland Security Investigations, with support from Customs and Border Protection. Commanders with experience in other major operations have been assigned to coordinate activities on the ground.

Lori Lightfoot challenges Commander Border Control

Commander U.S, Border Control

Former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot tells Border Patrol official his 'day of reckoning is fast approaching'

'Don’t call it a comeback; we’re gonna be here for years,' senior Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino wrote on X

As senior U.S. Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino continued to suggest that the agency will be in Chicago "for years," former Windy City Mayor Lori Lightfoot told the federal official that his "day of reckoning is fast approaching."

"If you think we’re done with Chicago, you’d better check yourself before you wreck yourself," Bovino, commander of Operation At Large in California, wrote in a post on X.

"Don’t call it a comeback; we’re gonna be here for years," he added in a play on lyrics in LL Cool J's song, "Mama Said Knock You Out," which plays in the background of a video montage included in the post.

Admit the Fact, Attack the Data — The Democrat Playbook

Jasmine Crockett Tries to Dismiss the Border Numbers — Reality Isn’t Cooperating

Illegal border crossings are at historic lows, and not the kind of “we changed the definition” lows we got used to during the Biden years, but real, measurable drops that even critics are forced to acknowledge before immediately trying to explain them away.

Border encounters are reportedly down more than 75% year over year, daily apprehensions at the southwest border are down roughly 95% compared to the previous administration, and for months now, illegal aliens have not been released into the interior.

That should be a bipartisan victory. Instead, it triggered a familiar reflex on the Left: panic, denial, and narrative gymnastics.

Texas Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett briefly acknowledged that border encounters are lower before immediately casting doubt on the numbers themselves, accusing the administration of dishonesty and shifting the conversation to “inhumane enforcement” and “comprehensive immigration reform.”

This is the modern progressive tell. When results contradict ideology, ideology doesn’t change — reality does. The same people who spent years insisting government statistics were sacred now suddenly believe numbers are subjective if Donald Trump (and the American people) benefit from them.

Democrats war on Immigration and Customs enforcement

Illinois has been fighting Donald Trump's border security agenda since day one of his presidency

Governor JB Pritzker made his position crystal clear

And ICE just exposed Illinois for one thing that left jaws on the floor...Illinois Released Nearly 1,800 Criminal Aliens With Active Detainers.

These aren't paperwork violations or people overstaying visas — we're talking about murderers, rapists, child pornographers, armed robbers, and kidnappers.

ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons sent a scathing letter to Illinois officials warning that the state has "tens of thousands of criminal illegal aliens" in custody who "should be swiftly removed from the United States" instead of being "returned to our streets to wreak havoc on law-abiding citizens."

What's with JB Pritzker?

Trump's Border Enforcement Upends Cartel Plans

Sinaloa Cartel boss reveals Trump's border policies disrupting drug operations

Brace yourself for a rare glimpse into the shadowy world of drug cartels, where a Sinaloa Cartel leader has just confessed that President Trump’s border crackdown is hitting them where it hurts.

The New York Post reported that in a stunning CNN interview, a high-ranking member of the notorious Sinaloa Cartel admitted that the Trump administration’s tough border policies have thrown a wrench into their illegal operations, from drug smuggling to human trafficking.

This anonymous figure, hidden behind a black mask, sunglasses, gloves, and a hat, spoke candidly with CNN’s senior national correspondent, David Culver, from the back of an SUV. The setting alone paints a picture of the secrecy and danger surrounding this criminal empire.

The cartel member didn’t shy away from the gritty details, claiming involvement in everything from smuggling coordination to taking lives. Yet, he insisted Trump’s policies have made their dark trade far more difficult, a begrudging nod to the effectiveness of heightened enforcement.

“Oh yeah. Yeah,” he admitted when asked if the president’s approach has complicated their work.

Well, isn’t that a refreshing dose of honesty from someone who usually operates in the shadows?

AI: A weapon in the arsenal of enforcement

Trump's border enforcement unleashes new weapon against illegal immigration

Artificial intelligence isn't just a buzzword, it's the key to executing interior enforcement at scale

President Donald Trump was elected on a promise to secure the border and deport illegal aliens. On day one, he declared a national emergency, rescinded Biden-era catch-and-release policies, and restored a clear legal standard of entry.

The result? In June, illegal crossings hit a record low for the second consecutive month. And once again, not a single illegal border crosser was released into the interior. This is more than a return to normality; it is the most secure border in American history.

But restoring the rule of law does not stop at the border. Interior enforcement pertains to the entire immigration lifecycle—from arrest to detention to removal. To execute mass deportation, everything at President Trump’s disposal must be fully activated, properly executed, and statutorily entrenched.

Now, with the One Big Beautiful Bill finally signed into law, the Trump administration has no excuse not to deliver across the board on immigration enforcement. The tools exist, and artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the most important among them.

AI is no longer a pilot project or futuristic experiment. If expanded, AI will give immigration enforcement muscle—not by "humanizing" a lawful system, but by accelerating it, cutting bureaucratic bloat, and clearing the path for both mass deportation and faster processing for those doing things the right way.

Biden administration’s border catastrophe

Democrats created this mess, now Trump has to clean it up

Tom Homan has been making Democrats sweat since Donald Trump put him in charge of the border.

The former ICE director doesn’t mince words when it comes to illegal immigration.

And Tom Homan utterly destroyed Biden’s border legacy with one jaw-dropping admission that will have every American furious.

Border Czar Tom Homan stood on the White House lawn and delivered a truth bomb that should make every American’s blood boil, except perhaps a Democrat, of course.

The Biden administration’s reckless open border policies created such a massive disaster that it would take arresting and deporting 7,000 people every single day for the next four years just to catch up with the damage they caused.

Think about that--7,000 illegals a day would have to be deported!

Arests made at Military Zone at US border

Troops make first arrests in border military zone, CBP surpasses 1,400

Officials announced on Wednesday, June 11, that military personnel have detained three undocumented migrants found in a military zone along the U.S. southern border and turned them over to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, adding to the more than 1,400 arrests in the zone made by border police. Civil liberties advocates say the military shouldn’t be policing the border.

Border officials announcing the migrant apprehensions say the focus of the zone is complete operational control of the southern border.

“The message should be clear: Do not enter the United States illegally,” El Paso Border Patrol Sector Chief Walter Slosar said during a joint news conference attended by KFOX in El Paso, Texas, on June 11. “This in no way, shape or form around us looks like an inviting place or the front door of a country.”

New military-restricted zone spans two states--The Department of Defense took over more than 109,651 acres of federal land along the U.S. southern border in April and designated it a “National Defense Area,” or NDA. Migrants caught crossing into this area now risk entering a military zone and this means jail and fines.
