A traffic stop this week in Florida didn't just end with a ticket. Authorities ended up making a major drug bust and arresting the driver.

Deputies working in Lake Worth Beach pulled over Nicketa Divernat on Wednesday night.

Her arrest report has not yet been released, but the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said deputies seized more than 60 lbs. of high-grade marijuana, with an estimated street value of $90,000.

House lawmakers narrowly passed three appropriations bills Thursday to fund the State Department and foreign operations, the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security through fiscal year 2024, as Republicans inch closer to a vote on a measure that could temporarily avert a government shutdown.

The State Department and foreign operations legislation passed in a 216-212 vote, with Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.) voting against the bill — the only Republicans to do so.

The Pentagon bill, absent Ukraine aid, cleared the lower chamber in a 218-210 vote, with two Republicans, Reps. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) and Ken Buck (R-Colo.), opposing it and two Democrats, Reps. Jared Golden (D-Maine) and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-Wash.), joining Republicans to pass it.

The Las Vegas teen who is accused of stealing a car and then using it to intentionally run down a man on a bicycle said he thought all he would get for his crimes is a "slap on the wrist."

Jesus Ayala, who was 17 when he was allegedly driving a stolen car used to murder a former California police chief who was out riding his bike on the morning of Aug. 14, showed no remorse at all for his actions in court, according to KLAS-TV.

In court, Las Vegas Police prosecutors said that the suspect boasted that because he was a juvenile he would never do any real time for his crime spree and that he'd end up with just a "slap on the wrist" in the courts.

"You think this juvenile [expletive] is gonna do some [expletive]? I’ll be out in 30 days, I’ll bet you," an officer told the court that the teen said as he was being arrested.

He and his passenger are both being charged for murder as adults. Teens don't get away with their crap if charged with murder in Nevada.

According to CBS News, there are currently four criminal cases being investigated involving non-military aid, and a shocking 170 Ukrainian government officials have been charged with corruption just this year. This raises concerns about the diversion of aid, despite reassurances from Ukrainian politicians.

President Biden pointed the finger at Republicans on September 12 after the U.S. Census Bureau released the childhood poverty figures for 2022. In a statement posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, the president wrote that “the rise reported today in child poverty is no accident,” adding that the Republicans are to blame for blocking the Child Tax Credit enhancements.

He vowed to work to bring back the additional tax credits, while also claiming that Republicans were more concerned about corporate tax cuts. Americans with children were receiving between $250-300 per child each month, depending on the child’s age. The monthly deposits came to an end in January 2022.

Covid was over and Republicans wanted people to go back to work.

West Virginia Democratic Senator Joe Manchin’s opposition shut the door to extending the additional credits. Rising inflation was also a contributory factor to the 7.2 percent increase in child poverty in 2022. More Americans were working, but the cost of living ate up additional income. And whose fault was that?

The Wisconsin Department of Corrections is housing a man who raped his own daughter in a women’s prison because he said he identifies as a woman himself—and the DOC is refusing to offer any kind of insight or explanation on the matter.

Mark Campbell is currently incarcerated in Taycheedah Correctional Institution, a women’s prison in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, inmate records show. He is a registered sex offender convicted of first-degree sexual assault of a child.

That child was his own 10-year-old daughter, court documents allege. Born in 1971, Campbell is currently 52 years old, weighs 225 pounds, and stands at 5 feet 9 inches, according to the DOC inmate locator.

Two Virginia Beach parents have filed a lawsuit seeking to force their local school system to adopt Republican Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s new model policies for the treatment of transgender students.

The lawsuit, filed on the parents' behalf by the conservative-leaning Cooper and Kirk law firm, alleges that local school boards must adopt the policies adopted earlier this year by the Youngkin administration.

It says the parent plaintiffs "want to protect their children from being compelled to use biologically inaccurate names and pronouns, forced to use bathrooms and locker rooms with members of the opposite sex, or required to pretend during athletic competition that gender identity can override the enduring physical differences between boys and girls."

The Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejando Mayorkas said Tuesday that he had named Russia collusion hoaxers and Hunter Biden laptop deniers John Brennan and James Clapper to an intelligence “experts” panel.

Brennan, a former CIA director, and Clapper, a former Director of National Intelligence, were key players in spreading the “Russia collusion” hoax to discredit the 2016 election, with Clapper telling CNN that it was possible there was evidence linking Russia to Trump, then admitting under oath that he knew of no evidence.

With tensions between Ukraine and Russia continuing to escalate, it remains to be seen whether or not the United States will increase its investment in the conflict.

A senior House Republican lawmaker told Politico on Monday that there are not enough Republican votes to send Ukraine more aid.

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky will head to the Capitol building on Thursday, where he will lobby for more aid for Ukraine. President Joe Biden has asked for $24 billion in military and economic aid to Ukraine.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner (R-OH) predicted on Sunday that Zelensky “makes the case better than anyone” and could be “very, very persuasive” in getting reluctant Republicans to back more aid.

As Zelensky moves to request more aid from American taxpayers, six Ukrainian deputy defense ministers were fired following the dismissal of Minister Oleksii Reznikov in a corruption scandal.

The FBI had so many paid informants at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, that they lost track of the number and had to perform a later audit to determine exactly how many “Confidential Human Sources” run by different FBI field offices were present that day, a former assistant director of the bureau has told lawmakers.

At least one informant was communicating with his FBI handler as he entered the Capitol, according to Steven D’Antuono, formerly in charge of the bureau’s Washington field office.

It suggests that “the FBI cannot adequately track the activities and operations of its informants, and that it lost control of its CHSs present at the Capitol on January 6,” he wrote.

“These revelations reinforce existing concerns, identified by Special Counsel [John] Durham, about the FBI’s use of, and payment to, CHS's who have fabricated evidence and misrepresented information.

The poverty rate in the United States increased for the first time in over a decade in 2022, according to new data from the Census Bureau. The poverty rate rose from 7.8% in 2021 to 12.4% in 2022, an increase of 4.6 percentage points.

That news comes as the Census also reported that the U.S. real median household income decreased by 2.3% to $74,580 in 2022. Meanwhile, year-over-year inflation rose 7.8%, per Fox Business.

Biden’s administration still claims that his policies are working and that his spending plans have sparked the American economy. But, prices have increased more than 17% since he took office.
