Florida Highway Patrol won America's "Best Looking Cruiser Contest" for the third time in a row

The American Association of State Troopers announced the results on Friday.

My critique: Photo too dark, background does not depict Florida--should have had a sunshine photo at the beach and an alligator sitting in front of cruiser. Who designed this?

The Florida Highway Patrol

has officially entered the 2025 American Association of State Troopers “Best Looking Cruiser” competition, seeking a third consecutive title.

This year’s entry prominently features an FHP black-and-tan Corvette, a vehicle seized from a convicted drug trafficker.

FHP is asking Floridians to cast their votes for the cruiser. The public voting period runs from 10 a.m. June 30 to noon July 11. The cruiser that garners the most votes will be featured on the cover of the American Association of State Troopers, or AAST, 2026 calendar.

The Corvette featured in the competition was acquired through a joint criminal investigation with the Drug Enforcement Administration targeting a nationwide drug trafficking organization. FHP is currently utilizing the seized vehicle at various outreach events to promote traffic safety campaigns aimed at reducing crashes on Florida’s roadways.

Florida Highway Patrol cruisers take first in best-looking contest

We all did it!

The American Association of State Troopers announced the winner of its 2023 America's Best Looking Cruiser Competition is the Florida Highway Patrol with the state's black-and-tan vehicles beating out second-place California by nearly 39,000 votes.

Final results were tallied at noon Monday and showed Florida Highway Patrol in the top spot. After California followed Nevada Highway Patrol, Indiana State Police in fourth, and Kentucky State Police in fifth. I think it was the gator that pushed us over the top.

Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and FHP used a variety of strategies to engage the community in this year's competition which ultimately led to an increase in votes and a surge of teamwork felt throughout the state as different law enforcement, state agencies, media organizations, businesses, and public figures came together to raise awareness of the competition and share in the state effort to win first place.
