Tania Fernandes Anderson, the woke BLM Muslim carrying the Black Nationalist flag above, and former illegal alien on the Boston City Council was sentenced to prison on corruption charges on Friday.

As previously reported, Boston City Councilor Tania Fernandes Anderson, a Democrat and the first Muslim elected to the council, was arrested by FBI agents last December.

Tania Fernandes Anderson, who served as Vice Chair of the Post Audit Committee, which oversees government accountability, was arrested on six felony charges (five counts of wire fraud and one count of theft concerning programs receiving federal funds) stemming from a kickback scheme.

Fernandes Anderson, 46, was born in Praia, Cape Verde, a country in South Africa. She immigrated to the United States at the age of ten, settling in the Boston neighborhood of Roxbury.She graduated from John D. O'Bryant High School. She is the executive director of Bowdoin Geneva Main Streets, a non-profit supporting small businesses. She was formerly an illegal immigrant and finally six years ago she became an American citizen.

Despite sanctuary city policies aimed at preventing cooperation with immigration authorities, some Boston police officers are reportedly assisting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in secret.

According to Breitbart, acting ICE Director Todd Lyons said officers in Boston are privately providing information to help capture undocumented immigrants with criminal records, going against the directives of Mayor Michelle Wu’s administration.

Boston has been a proclaimed sanctuary city under Democratic leadership, limiting local law enforcement from working with ICE in immigration-related matters.

Democrat Mayor Michelle Wu has been vocal in her opposition to such cooperation, previously comparing the agency to secret police forces and neo-Nazi groups. The city’s sanctuary status also reflects broader Massachusetts policy trends.

In Lyons’ view, sanctuary designations like Boston’s do not lead to safer cities. Instead, he claimed they result in more undocumented individuals with criminal records remaining active in communities—requiring repeated response from local police.

According to ICE and DHS statements, many of the individuals targeted in these operations had been released by local authorities despite detainers being lodged by federal agents. Officials claim that state and local "sanctuary policies" hinder their ability to take custody of these individuals, allowing them to return to the community.

In response, some media outlets have investigated claims that immigrants charged with violent crimes are being released, noting that most individuals wanted by ICE are released from court or jail after posting bail, a process in which immigration status is not typically a factor.

FBI agents arrested a Democratic Boston official Friday morning on federal corruption charges, citing an alleged “kickback scheme” to steal thousands of taxpayer dollars from her own constituents.

Tania Fernandes Anderson, who is serving in her second term as city councilor for Boston’s Seventh District, was indicted on one count of theft regarding programs receiving federal dollars and five counts of wire fraud, according to the Department of Justice’s indictment unsealed Friday.

Prosecutors allege that Fernandes Anderson, facing financial challenges last year following a state ethics commission’s decision to fine her $5,000 for violating a conflict of interest law, conspired with an unnamed relative on her staff in an alleged bonus kickback scheme to defraud the city of Boston.

Fernandes Anderson allegedly paid her relative a $13,000 bonus — more than twice as large as the bonuses given to all of her other staff combined — who then slipped $7,000 in cash of that bonus to Fernandes Anderson during a secret exchange in a city hall bathroom on June 9, 2023, according to the DOJ’s indictment.
