IACRL Honors Roger Stone

IACRL Honors Roger Stone

Italian American Civil Rights League’s Florida Chapter Honors Man of the Year

By: Richard Luthmann

Italian Americans built America. They built businesses, neighborhoods, churches, and families rooted in faith and discipline. Yet our political influence rarely receives attention.

Roger Stone’s recognition by the Italian American Civil Rights League proves the community still commands respect. Stone’s message was simple: freedom requires courage and loyalty. Italian Americans understand that lesson.

Our grandparents fought for opportunity and dignity. Today, a new generation carries that tradition forward. The launch of the South Florida chapter shows the movement is growing. Heritage matters.

Faith matters. Family matters. And if the packed room at Casa Calabria proved anything, it’s that Italian Americans are ready to defend those values again.

Roger Stone took the podium as the night’s distinguished guest of honor, and his remarks electrified the room. He reminded us that we are living through a consequential moment in American history.

“What we see today unfolding is a fight between good and evil, between dark and light, between the godly and the godless,” Stone declared.

His message was clear and urgent: the battles being waged in politics are fundamentally about preserving our freedoms and values from those who would undermine them. Stone praised Italian Americans as some of the nation’s most patriotic citizens, even though their political influence is rarely discussed openly.

Joe gets award from LGBTQ

'Amerigotit': Watch Joe Biden stumble over name of the nation he led for 4 years

Event includes his award from LGBTQ activists

LGBTQ+ Victory Institute honored President Biden for building the most LGBTQ+ inclusive administration in U.S. history.

Joe Biden was for eight years vice president of the United States. Then later four years president.

But he's not sure of the name of the nation actually.

He mumbled it while preaching to a crowd of LGBTQ activists who gave him an award for his work toward their cause.

It came out something like "The United States of Amerigotit."

Heck, he even forgot his press secretary's name and called her "Karrem."

Trump hater, Tom Hanks, Awards ceremony cancelled by West Point

West Point Cancels Tom Hanks Awards Ceremony

Alumni at West Point’s US Military Academy abruptly canceled an upcoming award ceremony for actor and veterans advocate Tom Hanks – a long time backer of Democratic candidates and causes, who was roasted this year for his portrayal of a President Trump supporter as a racist dope.

“This decision allows the Academy to continue its focus on its core mission of preparing cadets to lead, fight, and win as officers in the world’s most lethal force, the United States Army,” read an email dispatched Friday by Retired Army Col. Mark Bieger to alumni, per The Washington Post.

Hanks was scheduled to be honored at the famed military institution on Sept. 25 with the Sylvanus Thayer Award, dedicated to recognizing an “outstanding citizen” who did not attend West Point, but still exemplifies the academy’s ideals of “Duty, Honor, Country.”

The email did not state whether Hanks would still be receiving the award at a different time, or whether it had been revoked, the outlet reported. (Personally, I am sure it has been revoked).

The ceremony was to be accompanied by a parade held at West Point, attended by the entire Corps of Cadets. The Sylvanus Thayer Award is the closest equivalent to an honorary degree from West Point and is named after Colonel Sylvanus Thayer, who was superintendent of the school from 1817 to 1833.

Thank God West Point Alumni understood that Hanks did not in any way shape or form deserve this award.

The Sylvanus Thayer Award is the United States Military Academy's highest honor, awarded annually to a U.S. citizen whose service and accomplishments exemplify the United States Military Academy's values of Duty, Honor, Country.

City of Lake Worth gets a Tree Award

Lake Worth Beach Earns 2024 Tree City USA Recognition from Arbor Day Foundation

The Arbor Day Foundation named Lake Worth Beach a 2024 Tree City USA in honor of its commitment to plant, grow, and maintain trees to benefit its community. This is the 18th time since 1990 Lake Worth Beach has been recognized as a Tree City USA.

“We all have a role to play in shaping our future and tree champions like Lake Worth Beach are leading the way,” said Michelle Saulnier, Vice President of Programs at the Arbor Day Foundation. “Trees are critical infrastructure, building resiliency and fostering good health in our nation’s cities. We’re proud Lake Worth Beach is among the Arbor Day Foundation’s growing network of communities dedicated to creating positive impact through trees.”

“Receiving the Tree City USA designation is a significant achievement that reflects our city's commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship,” said Lake Worth Beach Mayor Betty Resch. “Trees provide essential benefits to our community, from improving air quality and reducing urban heat to enhancing property values and promoting overall well-being.”

To earn Tree City USA recognition, a city must uphold four core standards including maintaining a tree board or department, having a community tree ordinance, spending at least $2 per capita on urban forestry, and participating in an Arbor Day celebration.

Shh, don't tell the Arbor Day Foundation that the Mayor and the City of Lake Worth plans on cutting down an old healthy Oak tree in front of Dave's Last Resort.
