Washington Is Reviewing the Europe Footprint

Hegseth Review Could Withdraw Up to 40,000 U.S. Troops From Europe

The United States is weighing a major force-structure shakeup that could pull thousands of troops out of Western Europe, according to a new report from NBC News. One scenario could remove up to one-third of the troops stationed there, or about 25,000 service members. Other estimates put the possible number at 40,000, which would be roughly half of the U.S. forces based in Europe.

These figures describe possible scenarios, not a final troop movement order. Still, the review signals that Washington is taking a hard look at where American forces are stationed and how much of Europe’s defense the United States should continue to carry.

European Governments Are Alarmed--The possibility of such dramatic cuts has alarmed lawmakers from both parties and European governments worried that Russia could be emboldened. Germany, Italy, and Spain are likely to be impacted, NBC News reported, citing officials it did not name.

Those countries have some of the largest concentrations of American troops in Europe. They were also at odds with President Donald Trump over the war in Iran. The message from Washington is becoming difficult to miss: NATO allies cannot expect America to handle the heavy lifting forever.

Trump Points to Poland--Even as the review raises questions about the U.S. presence in Western Europe, Trump said America will not abandon its allies. He pointed to Poland as a possible location for a new U.S. Army base. “Thanks to the bold leadership of my friend, Karol Nawrocki, President of Poland, major progress is being made toward establishing a U.S. Army base in Poland,” Trump wrote.

He added that if the plan moves forward, the location would be announced very soon, calling it a historic step for the U.S.-Polish alliance. The post placed Poland at the center of Trump’s message about maintaining strong partnerships while reviewing America’s broader military posture.

Strict Immigration Policy goes on deaf ears with Dutch Parliament

Dutch Government Collapses Over Immigration Failure

Prime Minister Dick Schoof has just announced that he would offer his resignation from the Netherlands’ ruling coalition while continuing in a caretaker government, setting the stage for a likely snap election.

Dutch right-wing leader Geert Wilders has pulled his Freedom Party (PVV) from the country's ruling coalition after issuing an ultimatum last week demanding tougher action on curbing the migrant crisis.

With no agreement, Wilders, whose party held the most seats, quit the coalition in The Hague, plunging the Netherlands into political uncertainty.

"The PVV promised voters the strictest asylum policy ever," including a hard-line 10-point plan to "close the borders to asylum-seekers," Wilders told reporters earlier.

He noted that when coalition partners (populist Farmer-Citizens Movement (BBB), the centrist New Social Contract (NSC), and the liberal People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD)) disagreed on the new plans, "I had no choice but to say: We rescind support for this Cabinet."

In the past decade twenty-nine million immigrants, both legal and illegal, arrived in Europe, straining the Continent’s already overstretched and largely dysfunctional immigration system.

Illegal migrants entering Europe come predominantly from Africa and the Middle East, with Syria the leading country of origin, followed by West Africans and Afghans.

Terrorist attacks in Europe by Islamist extremists, especially those in Madrid and London, and the cases of radicalization of native Muslim Europeans have contributed to mistrust and public anger.

Europe needs to do more, better

UK offers peacekeeping troops to Ukraine ahead of Paris talks

  • UK could send peacekeeping troops to Ukraine
  • Sweden says it would consider joining a peacekeeping force
  • European leaders to meet in Paris
  • French official says Europe must do more
LONDON/PARIS, Feb 17 (Reuters) - British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has become the first European leader to say he is ready to put peacekeeping troops in Ukraine, making the commitment ahead of an emergency leaders' meeting in Paris to discuss Europe's role in a ceasefire.

Starmer's comments underlined a growing realization among European nations that they will likely have to play a larger role in ensuring Ukraine's security as Washington works alone with Russia on a potential end to the three-year conflict.

Starmer, who is expected to travel to Washington to meet Trump next week, said on Sunday that Europe was facing a "once in a generation moment" for the collective security of the continent, and it must work closely with the United States.

He said Britain was ready to play a leading role in delivering security guarantees for Ukraine, including being ready to put "our own troops on the ground if necessary."

The end of this war, when it comes, cannot merely become a temporary pause before Putin attacks again," he wrote in the Daily Telegraph newspaper.

US Military Issues Terror Alert at European Bases

We are on High Alert

"Multiple U.S. military bases in Europe are under a heightened state of alert for a terrorist attack against U.S. military personnel or facilities, multiple media outlets reported Sunday.

The bases include the U.S. Army garrison in Stuttgart, Germany, where the U.S. European Command headquarters is located, which raised its alert level to Force Protection Condition “Charlie” on Sunday, two U.S. officials told CNN.

This level is raised “when an incident occurs or intelligence is received indicating some form of terrorist action or targeting against personnel or facilities is likely,” per the U.S. Army."

The Muslim takeover of Europe

Meanwhile, the Muslim invasion of Europe continues. Turkey has opened the floodgates. “European states will perish and economies will crash”

"With nearly all of today’s news centered around the coronavirus and corrupt, brain-dead Joe Biden leading the pack of equally corrupt, brain-dead Democrat presidential candidates in the United States, I thought it important to share a bit of history-changing news with global significance that is getting little to no coverage in the mainstream media."

Is Europe Choosing Suicide?

Europe has two options – get its collective head out of its collective ass or die! It is that simple. The leaders of European countries must choose to either abandon political correctness and repeal laws that permit the current uber-dangerous ISLAM situation to thrive.

See how easy that is to say? ISLAM! That is your problem, Europe. It is staring you in the face, your cemeteries are filling with its innocent victims, and if you can’t see it then may God help you in your next life, for you are obviously unable to help yourselves in this one.

German Chief of Staff appointed over U.S. European command

Comment Up

USAREUR , a part of the U.S. Department of the Army, trains and leads Army Forces in support of the U.S. European Command. "Besides hundreds of smaller military-to-military interactions, they participate in numerous large, multinational land power exercises throughout the European continent. It conducts training for the 25,000 U.S. soldiers and almost 40,000 U.S. service members to make them combat-ready for deployment anywhere in the world."

And now what happens? Obama appoints a German, with no allegiance to our Constitution, as Chief of Staff! What next, Obama?  In actuality, the chief of staff does not command troops—he commands the general staff office. He answers to the commanding general of the U.S. Army - Europe, Lt. Gen. Donald M. Campbell Jr., U.S. Army. So, Obama must be trying to smooth relations with Germany for all that sneaky spying and stuff. Liberals are going to love this though.
