"Another day, another anti-conservative rant from Mr. Cerabino. This daily onslaught of political mudslinging in our "local news section" reeks of bias and desperation as the real issues of major concern, i.e. immigration, inflation, geopolitical failures, etc. are strategically ignored. It's an appalling statement from a "news" publication notwithstanding the fact his column is in the "local news" section of the paper.

Gone are the days where Mr. Cerabino artfully wrote about "local" people in a non-biased manner to the extent politics was not in his repertoire. The stories were usually humorous and even heart-warming at times. It's truly unfortunate however totally understandable, why the citizens of this country have lost their trust in the media to report factual and unbiased news. I'm guessing there will be a time where our media in general will come to the realization news takes priority over politics and we can get back to reporting the news in a way that's unifying instead of divisive."

I was really happy to see this Letter to the editor in Friday's Palm Beach Post. Frankly, Frank Cerabino is an opinion writer, left of left and annoying as hell. He has been writing for the Palm Beach Post for over 30 years and takes great pleasure now in writing something totally negative and flat false about anything a political conservative stands for from facemasks, Covid, CRT, trumped up racism, trolling transgenders, the governor of Florida and President Trump.

I stopped reading his column.

Frank Cerabino is the Palm Beach Post's resident Trump hater. Anyone affiliated with Trump in any way (all Republicans) will see and feel his wrath.  Now it's our great governor who he's attacking.

On Tuesday, voters did the right thing.  In a vast percentage of Democratic voters, it had nothing to do with being an informed voter.  It had everything to do with Party Loyalty and not crossing the Democrats' line. Democrats believed all the negative hype distributed by their Party against Rick Scott. The Democrats brought up the Fifth Amendment in ads as many times as Scott took it back in 2000. Read about it. Enough voters saw through the politics and the teachers union, etc. to give Governor Rick Scott the nod again.

In Frank Cerabino's column today, he says that voters did not necessarily go along with Rick Scott's or Republican ideas basing his statement on the fact that the majority of voters, 58%, wanted Amendment 2 to pass on medical marijuana and that was a bigger percentage than what Scott got. He said that Tuesday's election was a ROUT (rhymes with boot) for Republicans but not so much for their ideas. I 100% disagree with this analysis but I usually do when it comes to liberal left-wingers and their far-out statements.

The message to be learned here and one that die-hard Obama supporters reject, (they all love his do-nothing policies and his nearly $18 trillion dollar debt and Gwyneth Paltrow thinks he is breath-taking) is a simple message.

Rick Scott is a member of a Party that believes and practices conservative principles--Republicans demand a sensible, conservative and fair budget and believe, among many other important differences with Democrats, that taxes shouldn't be increased for anyone (including the wealthy) and that wages should be set by the free market. The message was-- A vote for us (Republicans) is a vote against Obama.  Democrats could not counter it.

And it's still tough to figure out what's really afoot with that one (Amendment 4), which can be simply boiled down to this:

Are you willing to help the Florida Association of Realtors sell homes by increasing the tax burden on existing homeowners so first-time home buyers, house flippers, snowbirds and businesses can get bigger tax breaks?

Those who support this amendment are many of the very same people who support growing our downtown Lake Worth taller. It's all about money in their pocketbook, not the health and welfare or quality of life in this city.

Don't forget, it is candidate Jim Stafford who got the endorsement from the Realtor's Association and he is the one supporting taller buildings in downtown Lake Worth. The only benefit would be to all those in the development and real estate business, not to Joe Taxpayer or anyone who believes that our city, with its quaint downtown shops and restaurants, a look we have had for over 100 years, would be more welcoming or friendly or generate more money to the city or to the commercial businesses by building taller.

Cerabino is a scream. Lake Weird is his suggestion for the name change of Lake Worth. Sometimes his humor is weird and depending upon your mood at that moment, you can find him outrageously funny, like today, or a total boob, like today...take your pick.

He wrote about the proposed name change to our city and in many respects, he was in tandem with Mark Parrilla and Barbara Jean Weber who both spoke before the commission the other night. To paraphrase what Mark said, "Naming someone Marilyn Monroe doesn't make that person sexy...Let's act as if, to become as if."  Barbara Jean said, "I don't have to say I have a diamond--you can see that it's a diamond." The Commission looked at them both with blank stares.

The Vice Mayor who dreamed up this entire matter of our name change to put it on the ballot, even down-played the potential costs of renaming our City by saying costs of 50 years ago were a lot more than costs today because of the Internet, or some such statement. No one twists things better than Maxwell to make a point. White is black and vice versa. It depends. He gives reasons why one should vote on one matter and gives opposite reasons why they should not on a different matter. Whatever turns him on is democracy in action. Why did the name of our city even become an issue?

This is a commissioner who is obsessed by costs. This is a commissioner who accuses everyone of being political but himself who, as it turns out, is the most political commissioner we have had in well over a decade. He accuses other commissioners on the minority side of the vote of playing politics for any statement they make that is opposite to his view (the Mayor did this as well) when in truth, Maxwell is always running for election. It certainly seems as if he is reaching out in this instance to the special interests--he didn't reach out to me or anyone I know who lives in his District. Did he ask anyone from a Pioneer family? Our opinion was unimportant.

It is totally outrageous that this Commission wants to change the name of our city that has been named Lake Worth since 1896 and a commission that is pandering to the business community and being led around by the Vice Mayor who just doesn't like a whole heck of a lot in our City. He believes by changing the name that the people will come; investment will begin and our city will soon change before our very eyes with taller buildings and single family neighborhoods with multi-family development that will change our character forever...like some fairy wand was waved over our city, an instant transformation for the better. Even a president of a neighborhood association believes that by building taller downtown, we will get more advalorem taxes. NO WE WON'T. This is why I have little regard for most neighborhood associations...they are way too political.

Clean up the blight. Stop attracting slum lords who rent to slobs or owners who leave their property vacant, ignoring it to become blighted. Stop trying to re-write our history and condemn a war hero of the United States. Preserve our heritage that is so important--a city that I am proud to call Lake Worth and one in which I am proud to call home. How weird is that?
