Dear Fellow Floridian,

This week, our national debt hit $40 trillion. It's hard even to fathom just how much money we're talking about, and even more difficult when you think about how much the United States government is now paying in interest on that debt.

Here are a couple of things to put it in perspective:

• If we paid down $1 million every day since the birth of Jesus Christ, we still wouldn’t have covered even 2% of the current national debt.
• Meanwhile, we’re currently paying $3 billion per day in interest ALONE.
• Congress managed to double our debt from $20 trillion in less than NINE YEARS. It was less than $6 trillion just 25 years ago. The federal debt is an exponential problem.

Think about it like a credit card bill that keeps growing with no plan to pay it off, causing prices to rise, the value of the dollar to fall, and your paycheck to cover less and less of the expenses piling up around you. We can’t sustain this.

Florida families are facing this reckless reality every day, and it's why I'm fighting to Make Washington Work for YOU by demanding Congress STOP THE SPENDING and BALANCE THE BUDGET.

That’s why I have sponsored numerous bills to tackle the swamp’s decades-long spending addiction, such as:

• Leading the Balanced Budget Responsibility Act to provide the president with the authority and discretion to curb wasteful government spending and balance the federal budget.
• Cosponsoring Senator Jon Husted’s Principles-Based Balanced Budget Amendment, which would amend the Constitution to require the federal government to balance its budget, just like every American family and business does.
• Fighting the Senate’s reckless, wasteful, and corrupt earmarks.
• Introducing my Locating Every Disbursement in Government Expenditure Records (LEDGER) Act to require the Department of the Treasury to track all government payments.

As your governor, I balanced the budget, cut taxes, paid down nearly one-third of our state debt, supported private-sector job growth, and lowered costs for families. Washington needs that same approach.

It’s time to cut wasteful federal spending, pay off our debt, and restore fiscal sanity so that we can protect the American Dream for our children and grandchildren.

Pass the Save America Act

Message from Senator Rick Scott

Dear Fellow Floridian,

This week I invited President Trump to come speak at the weekly Steering luncheon I lead. It was an honor to have the President come speak to Senate republicans and get everyone on the same page on what our priorities should be for the rest of the year.

It is essential that we pass the Save America Act. Just this past month we saw what appears to be rampant voter fraud in California where they’re still counting ballots and homeless people claim they were paid off for their votes. Now, L.A. County is on the verge of allowing legals to vote openly. We can’t let this happen to our elections.

We need to ensure only American citizens vote in American elections and show ID to do it. This shouldn’t be controversial. But democrats don’t want voter ID or to clean up voter rolls. This is why I propose that the Senate put the Save America Act on the floor every day we’re in session and make Democrats show the Americans where they stand.

I also believe that to pass it, we will likely need to need to eliminate the filibuster. This legislative tool was meant to end debate in the chamber after everyone had said their piece. It was never meant to block bills forever at the will of the minority. We ought to have debate, then vote. That’s how the Senate is supposed to work, and it’s how we can pass SAVE America and secure our elections.

We need to stand up for voter integrity so Americans have faith in our elections. That’s why I’m not giving up. As your United States Senator, I will continue to fight to get the Save America Act passed and deliver President Trump’s agenda to the American people.

Sens. Rick Scott, Elizabeth Warren Introduce Bill to Permanently Ban Members of Congress from Lobbying

On May 14, Senators Rick Scott and Elizabeth Warren introduced the Banning Lobbying and Safeguarding Trust (BLAST) Act, to permanently ban former members of the House of Representatives and Senate from lobbying Congress after leaving office.

Senator Rick Scott said, “When politicians use their time in public office to cash in after they leave government, the American people lose. Trust in our institutions is at an all-time low, and the revolving door between Capitol Hill and K Street is a big part of that.

We need to restore the American people’s trust in their government, and that’s why I’m proud to introduce this bipartisan bill to put government clearly back on the side of the people.

Our founders never intended public service to become a training ground for a lifetime of lobbying. Senator Warren and I are working to end this practice once and for all.”

Senator Elizabeth Warren said, “It’s simple: Members of Congress should spend their time in Washington serving the American people, not preparing to cash in big time with a cushy lobbying career after they leave office.

It’s long past time to close the revolving door that’s corrupted our government and destroyed public trust in elected officials. This bipartisan bill is a no-brainer that Congress should pass now.”

National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk

Dear Fellow Floridian,

Like many of you, Ann and I are still completely heartbroken by the tragic loss of our good friend and fellow patriot, Charlie Kirk. This is a devastating loss for his wife, Erika, and their two precious kids, and the millions, including myself, who felt the impact of Charlie’s work and were inspired by his devotion to God and his beliefs.

Charlie was a good man – a devout husband, father, and friend – whose life was shaped by his faith and the idea that in America, debate and discussion are crucial to the betterment of our country. He dedicated his life to the idea that the power of our ideas can not only win the day, but start a movement. That’s exactly what he did.

Charlie was taken from us in a disgusting act of political violence on September 10, 2025, but his legacy lives on. He inspired us. He inspired me every time I spoke to him. And now, each of us has the opportunity to carry on his memory by believing in the power of our ideas, discussion, and the values of our nation.

Last week, I had the opportunity to lead and unanimously pass in the Senate my resolution with Congressman Jimmy Patronis to designate October 14, 2025 – Charlie’s birthday – as “National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk” to honor his life as we continue to come together to pray for his family and celebrate his impact on the great nation.

I was also honored to attend Charlie's memorial to pay tribute to the life he lived, the man he was, and the legacy he built. May we all keep Erika and the entire Kirk family in our prayers, and may we continue to practice the ideas Charlie preached—to love our families, live by our faith, and stand by our ideas.

Sen. Rick Scott Leads Legislation to Cut Unnecessary Government Red Tape

"WASHINGTON, D.C. — Senators Rick Scott, Ron Johnson and James Lankford announced the introduction of the Regulatory Decimation Act.

This will rein in the administrative state by requiring federal agencies to repeal ten existing regulations prior to issuing a new one and ensuring the cost of any new regulation does not exceed the ones repealed. Congressman Dave Taylor is leading the legislation in the House of Representatives.

Senator Rick Scott said, “The federal government has grown exponentially during the four years of the Biden administration, with hundreds of thousands of federal regulations costing Americans $1.9 TRILLION.

Important message from Rick Scott on Save Act

As Americans, protecting the integrity on our elections should be our number one priority

"This begins with making sure only U.S. citizens can cast the votes that determine the future of our nation.

Unfortunately, that is not guaranteed today.

Recently, there has been thousands of non-citizens removed from voter rolls across the country. We cannot ignore this threat to our democratic process. I was proud to see my SAVE Act pass the House earlier this summer with bipartisan support, and have been fighting to get it done here in the United States Senate.

However, Senate Leadership and Democrats are dragging their feet every step of the way. In fact, they've ignored the problem since day one of the Biden-Harris administration when “Border Czar” Harris opened the floodgates to allow millions of illegal immigrants into our country.

We cannot allow anything to undermine the integrity of our elections. That’s why I am demanding that when we pass a continuing resolution to fund the government in September, we include the SAVE Act as part of that funding bill.

As your United States Senator, I won’t stop fighting to make sure your vote is protected and the Biden-Harris border crisis doesn’t rob your voice at the ballot box."

The SAVE Act is a bill to amend the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 to require proof of United States citizenship to register an individual to vote in elections for Federal office, and for other purposes. Democrats seem to like illegals voting and the Border Czar has never been to our border.

University of North Florida latest polls for Florida

NEW POLL: What new numbers say about Harris vs Trump in Florida

A new poll released Tuesday indicates that former President Donald Trump still has a sizeable lead over Vice President Kamala Harris in Florida.

The poll, conducted by the University of North Florida, asked likely Florida voters their choice for president, U.S. Senate and three proposed amendments to the Florida Constitution.

When a sample of 774 respondents was asked who they would vote for if the presidential election were held today, 49% of the respondents said Trump while 42% indicated a vote for Harris.

4%$ percent said they would vote for another candidate and 6% were either undecided or refused to answer, according to the poll.

"It's not a huge surprise to see Trump ahead in his home state of Florida, which he won by three points in 2020," University of North Florida political science professor Dr. Michael Binder said. "With Harris just entering the race, enthusiasm amongst her supporters has livened up what was once thought to be an easy win for Trump in Florida."

Dear Fellow Floridian,

Last month, I went on my sixth trip to Israel, where I saw the absolute evil of Israel's enemies and their brutality. I saw where Jewish families were killed just for being Jewish, where women were raped and murdered and babies butchered. I talked with people who experienced the attack firsthand and thankfully survived, and they told me what happened to them, their families and friends.

Sadly, the devastation has continued since October 7th. Just this week, I was walking into my office when I noticed a group of men and women looking at the poster I have with every hostage's face on it to raise awareness about those still in captivity.

As I stopped to speak with them, I learned they were all either released hostages or family members waiting for their loved ones to come home. One of the released hostages was Aviva Siegel. Aviva told me what she experienced and the heartbreak she is feeling knowing her husband Keith is still in captivity.

I cannot imagine what that's like, but I can tell you this: I will NOT stop fighting and speaking every single day about what happened on October 7th and those held hostage, including Americans! And like I told Prime Minister Netanyahu, as your U.S. Senator, I will ALWAYS stand with Florida's Jewish community and our great friend, Israel.

We cannot be silent. We MUST stand with Israel and bring every hostage home.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) must submit a Work Plan for the Fiscal Year 2024 funds appropriated by Congress no later than May 8, 2024.

In a move that has sparked controversy and drawn attention, Senator Rick Scott, a Republican from Florida and former governor of the state has issued what he calls a “formal travel advisory for socialists visiting Florida.”

Scott’s advisory, released on Tuesday, aims to convey a message that Florida is, in his words, “openly hostile” to socialists and those associated with the Biden Administration.

Scott’s press release asserts that the state of Florida fails to recognize and appreciate the contributions made by socialists and others working in the current administration.
