Hawaii Democratic congressional candidate faces mounting felony charges after beach brawl caught on video

A Democratic congressional candidate in Hawaii now faces felony terroristic threatening charges after allegedly pulling a knife on a beachgoer during a confrontation caught on camera, the latest in a string of arrests that includes a gun incident and an assault on a hospital nurse.

Kirill Basin, 40, was arrested August 1 at Keawakapu Beach in South Kihei, Maui, after an argument over loud music spiraled into a physical fight that left him knocked unconscious and ended with police hauling him away on two counts of first-degree terroristic threatening.

Fox News Digital reported that Basin shoved a beachgoer named Kama Homan, then swung a beach chair at him. Homan pushed the chair away and knocked Basin out cold.

But the confrontation did not end there. Prosecutors allege in an August 5 court filing that Basin, after regaining consciousness, reached into a small black bag and told Homan, "Do I have a gun? I'll kill you," before pulling out and brandishing a knife. He also allegedly told bystanders, "I'll put you in the ground."

These are Democrats who want to represent America.

Hawaii’s law required gun owners to get permission to carry their weapons in stores and hotels

The U.S. Supreme Court voted 6–3 on June 25 to strike down a Hawaii gun law that banned residents from carrying concealed weapons in privately owned public places, such as gas stations and shopping malls, without permission from the owners.

The majority opinion in Wolford v. Lopez was authored by Justice Samuel Alito.

Justices Elena Kagan, Ketanji Brown Jackson, and Sonia Sotomayor dissented in the case, which was closely watched by gun rights advocates.

Alito said the Second Amendment “has the same meaning in all parts of the United States.” “It cannot give way to ‘the spirit of Aloha’ in Hawaii … any more than it can yield to the spirit of the Big Apple … or the Windy City,” he said.

“It applies in the same way to our 50th State (where about 8% of adults possess guns) and our 49th State (where the figure is roughly 59%).

Biden arrived two weeks after the disaster. As Biden was entering the incinerated city, he was greeted by hecklers saying F you.

Joe Biden arrived in Maui and got off to a disastrous start by either forgetting people's names or mangling their names. However, by far worst of all is that Biden claimed that former Hawaiian Senator Daniel Inouye who was born and raised in Hawaii was actually from Japan. Although Senator Inouye passed away in 2012, he was so pissed off about this that if you listen very very carefully you might hear him angrily call Biden a liar from the grave.

Chinese Satellite observed off Hawaii

Chinese green-light laser satellite spotted off Hawaii

The National Astronomical Observatory of Japan initially posited that NASA’s ICESat-2 satellite was the source of the green laser light show seen near Mauna Kea, Hawaii. Days later, NASA confirmed that it had conducted a simulation taking into account the location of satellites in the planet’s orbit at the time and determined that a Chinese satellite was responsible for the lights.

As for the Chinese satellite in question, there was no indication that it is serving a nefarious or aggressive purpose. Roy Gal of the University of Hawaii’s Institute of Astronomy noted that the orbiting object is primarily used to gauge pollutants in the atmosphere.

Of course, not everyone supports his effort to give China the benefit of the doubt. Former Marine Forces Pacific Chief of Staff Ray L’Heureux, for example, expressed skepticism that one of “the most prolific polluters on the planet” would bother collecting evidence about pollutants near Hawaii.

Last week, the US Coast Guard said it was monitoring a Russian ship that has, in recent weeks, been sailing in international waters near the Hawaiian Islands possibly to gather intelligence.

In its press release, the Coast Guard said it was coordinating with the Pentagon to track the Russian vessel and provide updates on its movements and related activity to the 14th District.

A prominent Hawaii Democrat was sentenced to 40 months in prison for taking bribes in exchange for shaping legislation while in office.

Former Democratic Senate Majority Leader J. Kalani English pleaded guilty to honest services wire fraud earlier this year, admitting in court that he accepted bribes from a Hawaii business owner in exchange for shaping legislation that would benefit a company involved in publicly financed cesspool conversion projects.

Hawaii Will Not Mandate Booster Shots for Travelers

Last month, it was reported that Hawaii would be requiring booster shots for travelers to the islands. Under the state’s current “Safe Travels” program, visitors to the state must quarantine for five days or test negative for the coronavirus within one day of travel if they are not fully vaccinated, which previously meant two doses of the Pfizer/Moderna vaccines or one dose of Johnson & Johnson vaccine. The proposed update would have included booster shots in order for people to skip quarantine.

Not now. Hawaii is losing tourists and this decision is all about the money. Tourism is a large chuck of the economy in Hawaii.

The commission voted a few years ago that they didn't have to have discussion from the dais and approval on their travel...they just didn't think it was the public's right to know.  Now everything they do as far as travel is out of the sunshine. About the 87th Annual Meeting

The United States Conference of Mayors’ 87th Annual Meeting took place June 28-July 1, 2019 in Honolulu, HI. It was presided over by Columbia, SC Mayor Steve Benjamin and was hosted by Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell.

The conference took place at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in  Waikiki Beach.

Mayor Pam Triolo attended this meeting and I was told that Vice Mayor Andy Amoroso also attended.
