"It delivered a record $133.6 billion in economic impact in 2024, according to a new Visit Florida analysis released Tuesday, marking one of the strongest years on record for visitor spending and tax revenue.

The report shows that tourism-related taxes generated enough revenue to offset what Florida households would otherwise pay by an estimated $1,730 annually, with total savings approaching $2,000 when indirect effects are included.

Out-of-state visitors spent $134.9 billion last year, a 3 percent increase over 2023, as Florida drew an all-time high of 143 million travelers and supported 1.8 million jobs statewide.

Florida sets new tourism record in 2024, welcoming 142.9 million visitors

Gov. Ron DeSantis announced on Wednesday that Florida set a new tourism record in 2024, welcoming 142.9 million visitors, surpassing previous records and marking the highest number of travelers in the state’s history.

Nearly 30 million visitors traveled to Florida during the fourth quarter of 2024 alone, with close to 3 million of those being overseas travelers. DeSantis noted the role South Florida played in attracting international tourists, pointing to the region as a major hub for global visitors.

“That is a pretty good increase over 2023 that’s the highest on record, including almost 30 million in the fourth quarter alone, and almost 3 million overseas visitors,” said DeSantis. “And we know a lot of that is here in South Florida. So we’re really excited that our tourism industry is booming.”

South Americans are traveling to the U.S. to then steal from wealthy Americans.

One Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) official called the crime tourists an “enormous threat right now in our country” that is increasing by the day. Even after being arrested, though, the illegal aliens and foreign nationals face low bail that they are often quickly released from police custody.

In Fiscal Year 2019, more than 81.5 million foreign tourists traveled to the U.S. In Fiscal Year 2018, the federal government admitted 22.8 million foreign nationals to the U.S. through the Visa Waiver Program.

Hawaii Will Not Mandate Booster Shots for Travelers

Last month, it was reported that Hawaii would be requiring booster shots for travelers to the islands. Under the state’s current “Safe Travels” program, visitors to the state must quarantine for five days or test negative for the coronavirus within one day of travel if they are not fully vaccinated, which previously meant two doses of the Pfizer/Moderna vaccines or one dose of Johnson & Johnson vaccine. The proposed update would have included booster shots in order for people to skip quarantine.

Not now. Hawaii is losing tourists and this decision is all about the money. Tourism is a large chuck of the economy in Hawaii.

Baby killing Democrat Governor David Ige just signed a law that will make abortions easier to get in the deep blue island state of Hawaii.

He thinks allowing nurses to perform quick and simple procedures will help to boost tourism, as liberal sluts flock there from conservative places where baby killing isn’t so convenient.

There are consequences for being an idiot

Apparently Lexington, Virginia is suffering some after effects caused by The Red Hen Restaurant after it kicked out Sarah Sanders and her family.

Lexington got thousands of letters against the restaurant's action and tourism has fallen big time.  It has had to dip into some emergency funds to counter the problem.

Christian tourism in Israel up 20%

20% increase reported, and Israel’s tourism professionals seeking to expand Christian tourism even more.

"Despite the on-going geopolitical drama related the impending move of the American embassy to Jerusalem, Israel is seeing a surge in the number of Christians visiting the holy sites this year.

Israel’s Tourism Ministry is preparing to welcome tens of thousands of Christian pilgrims over the Christmas season, finishing up a record-breaking year as the number of tourists reaches 3.5 million people in 2017.

A 20 percent increase in Christian visitors is expected over the holiday season compared to last year, according to Tourism Minister Yariv Levin, who attributed the record growth to his ministry’s ongoing international tourism campaign."

Climate comparisons and Florida Tourism

The Post on Weather in today's paper said that January through April in Florida were the hottest months in 122 years.

In the Business section, more than likely due to marketing efforts by Florida, tourists visited in record numbers as well with 31.1 million visiting our state. Since 2010, tourism has grown by 65% in Palm Beach County. The Florida legislature cut the tourism marketing budget by $50 million against the governor's wishes.

Let's hope that Hudson Holdings really does open the Gulfstream property as a hotel one day.

Chinese Tourism in the U.S.

When it dawns on the liberals what this Chinese tourism industry is based upon, liberal heads will be exploding coast to coast. There will probably be a push to outlaw this business in every liberal sanctuary within our borders. What is even more fun is the fact that it is based on our bill of rights. The same rights that do not exist in many countries. As a matter of fact, some Japanese tourist business is based on this model. Read and be amazed, sort of.

Thank you for your E-mail...The reality is there is no tourist tax available..The financial statements for the Tourist tax are public record, as are all the financial commitments going forward the next 25 years..there simply is no money available to fund another project like this. .plain and simple..

 Any economic downturn, which is very likely at some point in the future as history has shown, would severely jeopardize our ability to market Palm Beach County as a tourist destination competitively throughout the US and the internationally..The hospitality -Tourism industry in PBC employs over 86,000 people, far and away our #1 provider of jobs ...certainly not worth risking that economic driver for a third baseball stadium in the county that is utilized the 6 busiest weeks of the tourist season, mid February thru March when all the hotels are running their highest occupancy rates already.

Less than 1% of all the annual room nights into PB County are generated from Spring Training...

Not sure why some( not all) of the commissioners continue to entertain fantasies of being the spring training capital of the world..and think the tourist tax is an unlimited source of funds that their constituents don't have to pay...

This one should be dead at least and the BCC will realize it soon enough..at least in regards to funding from bed tax dollars. .Now they have a way to turn it down and not look like they are against baseball...which is fine....that's the way the game is played unfortunately..
