Excessive spending by Florida city government

Ingoglia Accuses Jacksonville of Wasteful Spending

A few days after accusing Orange County of excessive spending, Florida Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia on Wednesday leveled a similar charge against the city of Jacksonville.

The city is overtaxing citizens by nearly $200 million annually, Ingoglia said. The figure is based on inflation and population growth over the last five years, the CFO said.

The formula also includes filters for government efficiency, or lack of it, Ingoglia said.

“We got to what the budget should be under normal, sane circumstances with people who are somewhat fiscally responsible with their money,” he said. “And they were $200 million over that number. That’s an outstanding number.”

As property values and assessments have increased over the last few years, local governments have benefited from higher property tax receipts.

“Local governments are taking that money and expanding government, paying people within the bureaucracy some pretty big raises and wasting dollar after dollar – your tax dollars,” Ingoglia said.

The city’s general fund budget – paid through property taxes – increased by $692 million over the past five years, he said.

Under the Doge microscope, county governments everywhere in the state are having to change how they operate and how they think.

Earlier this year, the Palm Beach County commission struggled to come to terms with the possibility that millions in federal funding could be withheld under the new Trump Administration if they refused to scale back their diversity, equity, and inclusion programs (DEI). They did.

DOGE completes its audit in Palm Beach County

DOGE found "eye popping" examples of Waste in Palm Beach County

The Report will be out in 60 days

Of course, Democrats are pushing back and even County Commissioner Bobby Powell has implied that Florida DOGE Chief Blaise Ingoglia is not qualified. Now who would expect a Democrat to say anything else.

County administrator Joe Abruzzo questions quality of 60-day audit and wonders how thorough it possible could be. In 60 days we all will find out.

DOGE on the job in Palm Beach County

Agency in Croshairs of DOGE

"A Palm Beach County agency that provides grants to nonprofits to help struggling teens and their families is in the crosshairs of the state’s DOGE team and county commissioners.

At a meeting Aug. 26, leaders of the county’s Youth Services Department will be asked to justify why they want to give $3.1 million in tax money to 33 agencies. It marks the commission’s first critical inquiry into spending since it created the department 10 years ago.

The review comes as Gov. Ron DeSantis’ government efficiency team scours county books for waste. Before the Florida DOGE auditors arrived in the county on Monday for a two-day visit, they said they wanted to take a close look at the $18 million-a-year Youth Services Department.

During a July 8 meeting, Commissioner Baxter criticized youth services staff for not giving her enough time to review information to see if the proposed grants were duplicating efforts of the Children’s Services Council. The council, an independent taxing agency approved by county voters in 1986, collects $167 million annually for programs that help kids and families.

“I want a breakdown of how many are getting money from the Children’s Services Council and the county,” said Commissioner Baxter, who is on the council’s board. “Is it one agency? Is it the other? Is it both?” She was supported by the entire council.

The six agencies were selected for council grants of up to $50,000 because they offer programs for older children who received high scores from outside professionals who reviewed the applications for the county.

The programs, offered by agencies such as Compass, the Milagro Center and Children of Inmates, focus on education, building life skills, suicide prevention, financial planning and family counseling."

DOGE coming to Palm Beach County

Palm Beach County’s date with DOGE is set

In two weeks, a team from the government efficiency office created by Gov. Ron DeSantis will arrive in county offices to begin combing through financial records, regulations and policies to ferret out waste, according to a letter County Mayor Maria Marino received Thursday.

In the letter announcing their visit on Aug. 18 and 19, the team targeted areas that have been hot-button topics for DeSantis and President Donald Trump.

Programs that involve climate change, diversity, equity and inclusion and homeless assistance will be inspected closely, according to the letter signed by the state’s CFO Blaise Ingoglia; Eric Soskin, the state’s DOGE czar; and Leda Kelly, head of the governor’s Office of Policy and Budget.

Read the letter    This is an in-depth request.

DOGE staffer beaten to a pulp by punks

Police Report: Edward Coristine Assaulted in Alleged Carjacking

President Donald Trump shared a photo of 19 year old DOGE staffer after the alleged attack and threatened to “federalize” Washington, DC. The victim, Edward Coristine, nicknamed "Big Balls," was assaulted around 3:00 a.m. Sunday by a group of teenagers in the city’s Logan Circle neighborhood. The teens attempted to carjack him and a woman, whom police identified as his significant other, (Aill Cain on Fox said a bystander) according to authorities.

President Donald Trump posted a threat on his social media platform Truth Social to “federalize” the District of Columbia, citing claims of gang violence. He also shared a photo of a bloodied, shirtless man sitting in the street.

Soon after, Elon Musk tweeted that a Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) staffer was “beaten to the point of concussion” by an alleged gang in DC.

DeSantis launches DOGE audits beginning July 31

DOGE coming to Florida

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced on-site audits of city and county governments starting July 31, targeting areas with complaints from taxpayers of wasteful spending.

The Florida governor specifically called out Broward County, saying it raised property taxes by nearly 50% since 2020, even though its population reportedly grew by less than 5%. DeSantis emphasized that these audits are now required by law and local governments must cooperate. How about Palm Beach County next?

The state is demanding 7 pages of data from targeted municipalities, ranging from compensation and contracts to spending on climate programs and DEI initiatives.

Cutting Medicaid Fraud

Dr. Oz: DOGE Found $14 Billion in Medicaid Fraud

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz said that his agency and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) have identified at least $14 billion in fraud, waste, and abuse.

“There’s about $14 billion we’ve identified with DOGE, of folks who are duly enrolled wrongly in multiple states for Medicaid,” Oz told Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures.”

As an example, Oz said, “You live in New Jersey, but you move to Pennsylvania, and which state gets your Medicaid? Turns out both states collect money from the federal government.”

He said that some people who are eligible to get a job or seek education are receiving Medicaid, echoing statements made by GOP lawmakers, including House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.). who in recent days said that able-bodied individuals and illegal aliens have received Medicaid benefits.

Lying Democrats love to say that Trump is cutting Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. That is their constant fear tactic. Nope. They are finding and getting rid of the fraud so that these services can provide benefits to worthy individuals such as people with disabilities and others who need it or in the case of social security, who have earned it.

Cracking down on Government Waste and Fraud

Waste, Fraud and Dysfunction

Kim Rogalin: "Cracking down on waste isn't just about saving money; it's about restoring integrity to safety-net programs and protecting taxpayers. And if fixing this problem is not quintessential 'efficiency,' what is?"--Veronique de Rugy

"Before the election last year, nobody was talking about cutting anything...on the margin, it may still wash out pretty positive relative to the counterfactual where DOGE didn't exist."--Ryan Bourne.

"Given the incentives of federal workers and the tendency of government to only ever get bigger, it's possible to regard DOGE's work as a smashing success."—Christian Britchgi

The Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) estimates that the federal regulatory burden is a hidden tax costing well over $1 trillion.

The $101.4 billion of improper payments made by Medicare and Medicaid in 2023 accounted for 40% of all improper payments across the entire government that year, according to the Government Accountability Office (GAO).

But 75% of spending goes to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, defense, veterans' benefits, and interest payments on the national debt. Those so-called "mandatory" spending programs constitute the majority of federal spending and most of the expected spending growth in the coming years. Achieving the substantial $2 trillion in savings our nation urgently needs, we must address the primary driver of federal debt: unchecked mandatory spending.

The executive branch has very limited authority with respect to spending. While there is tremendous waste and dysfunction within the federal budget, the largest problem is the government doing too many things it shouldn't and subsidizing nearly everything under the sun. Congress has primary responsibility for the size, scope, and spending of the federal government.

Large-scale federal government reform is not under the executive control. DOGE must also put together a package of budget cuts for Congress to work on. DOGE must also focus on government subsidies to private businesses and look at wasteful grant programs delivering billions of dollars to state governments.

"There is an entire industry of economists, policy wonks, and government auditors who have spent decades identifying wasteful spending and drafting savings blueprints for an ambitious Congress or president to adopt."--Jessica Ried

Labor Dept and DOGE cut DEI funding

Labor grants worth $13.6 million in DEI funding terminated

The Department of Labor (DOL) and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) join forces to review and eliminate controversial grant programs aimed at promoting diversity initiatives across various sectors.

According to Breitbart, federal agencies have terminated 25 diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) grants totaling $13.6 million, which included funding for programs supporting gender-expansive individuals and various underrepresented communities.

The terminated grants encompassed several initiatives, including a $716,000 allocation for DEIA materials and training modules, $398,000 for gender equity awareness programs, and $350,000 designated for migrant communities.

These cuts are part of a broader effort to redirect funding toward merit-based employment opportunities.

Government Credit Card Scandal: A Monumental Fraud

Gov Credit Cards, The Shocking Fraud Musk Uncovered

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), spearheaded by Elon Musk’s relentless anti-corruption team, has delivered a bombshell update on one of the biggest scams ever uncovered in the federal bureaucracy.

While the liberal media remains silent—or worse, actively defends this systemic waste—DOGE has already saved American taxpayers a staggering $105 billion through a combination of asset sales, contract cancellations, fraud prevention, and workforce reductions.

Yet, instead of applauding these efforts, Democrats are furious, launching frivolous lawsuits and secret backroom deals to stop Musk and his team from draining the swamp once and for all.

In a shocking revelation, DOGE recently announced it had deactivated 200,000 government credit cards across 16 agencies—but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. There are still 4.6 million active government credit cards floating around, many with *10,000monthlyspendinglimits∗∗.

As Musk bluntly stated, “Most of what DOGE is finding, you don’t need to be Sherlock Holmes. It’s very obvious, basic stuff,” @elonmusk said, “We found TWICE as many credit cards as there are humans. And these are cards with $10K per limit.

The Criminal Democrats' Tesla Takedown

Elon Musk to cut back his work with DOGE

In a significant turn of events, Elon Musk has decided to curtail his involvement with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to refocus on Tesla, prompted by a striking drop in the automaker’s profits.

According to the Daily Mail, Elon Musk announced cutting back on his DOGE commitments starting in May, following Tesla's substantial profit decline.

Since taking over the role of 'First Buddy' at DOGE in January, Tesla has witnessed a roughly 40 percent decrease in its stock value. This has coincided with a stark 71 percent drop in Tesla's first-quarter profits compared to last year, falling from $1.4 billion to $409 million.

This financial downturn has failed to meet Wall Street expectations and has been a source of mounting worry for investors and stakeholders.

DOGE Investigates Unemployment Insurance Fraud

Government Paid Millions in Unemployment to People with Birthdates in 2154, DOGE Investigation Finds

American taxpayers fund a massive federal government. Much of that money is spent with little oversight. The problem has persisted across administrations with few repercussions for those responsible.

Something changed this year. The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) began investigating government waste. Led by Elon Musk, the team started digging through records across federal agencies.

What they uncovered shocked even seasoned government watchdogs. Indeed, the findings were so bizarre that officials had to double-check the numbers.

Americans’ tax dollars were apparently going to people who haven’t even been born yet. An initial survey of Unemployment Insurance claims since 2020 revealed that thousands of people with future birthdates received benefits totaling millions of dollars.

Can you believe it? Your hard-earned money went to someone supposedly born in 2154!

The Tip of the Iceberg - Illegals getting billions in U.S. Benefits

Illegal immigrants are claiming billions of dollars worth of Medicaid and other US benefits

according to data uncovered by the head of DOGE’s border team

Antonio Gracias said around 1.3 million non-citizens are currently claiming Medicaid, at an estimated cost of around $6.5 billion.

The stark revelation came after Gracias and his team began probing the huge uptick in non-citizens who were assigned Social Security numbers last year.

The figure leapt from 400,000 in 2021, to more than two million in 2024. Among those are non-citizens who have entered the US legally on visas and green cards and who pay into the US tax system.

“And we looked at voter rolls and we found that thousands of them were registered to vote in a handful of states.”

“And then we went even further with those friendly states and found that many of those people had actually voted.”

Tarlov accuses Elon of Corruption

Jessica Tarlov’s Epic Fail Against Musk—Elon Mopped The Floor With Her!

There’s something deeply satisfying about watching the liberal media’s narrative crumble—especially when the architect of its destruction is Elon Musk, a man who refuses to bow to their agenda.

This week, Fox News’ resident progressive ideologue, Jessica Tarlov, attempted to ambush Musk with a loaded question designed to paint him as a corrupt crony capitalist. Instead, her “gotcha” moment backfired spectacularly, leaving her floundering while Musk dismantled her weak argument with facts and transparency.

Tarlov, armed with the usual progressive talking points, launched her attack:

“So you’ve been making cuts to a lot of the agencies that have open investigations and regulatory battles with your companies… at the same time you continue to get billions in government contracts. Tesla gets billions in subsidies. How do you explain that to the American people?”

The implication was clear—Musk was supposedly slashing oversight to benefit his own businesses while raking in taxpayer money. It was a narrative straight out of the left-wing playbook: paint the successful entrepreneur as a villain exploiting the system.

Rather than taking the bait, Musk calmly dismantled her argument with a dose of reality: “Every Doge action is listed on the Doge.gov website. If anyone has a concern about any one of those actions, they can raise that… We make mistakes, but we fix them fast.”

Then she went on with the Democrat's false narrative about social security...Elon set her straight on that one too!

DOGE keeps saving Taxpayers money

DOGE, Labor Department halt overseas grants with eye toward financial savings

The U.S. Department of Labor, under guidance from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has made headlines by announcing the cancellation of $577 million in foreign grants, and this decision aims to trim wasteful spending and contribute to a growing fiduciary effort to save taxpayer money.

The DOGE- driven cancellation affects multiple international initiatives, including projects for gender equity and migrant worker protections, aiming to redirect $237 million into broader U.S. savings goals, as Breitbart reports.

Among the affected initiatives is a $10 million project dedicated to advancing gender equality in Mexican workplaces. Other notable eliminations include a $12.2 million effort aimed at enhancing worker empowerment across South America and a $6.25 million initiative focused on improving respect for agricultural workers' rights in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador.

The Department reports that eliminating these international grants translates into a $807.45 saving for each U.S. taxpayer. In a broader context, DOGE's actions have resulted in the termination of 9,289 grants, totaling $32 billion in savings. This relentless hunt for inefficiencies seeks to cut wasteful expenditures and enhance governmental productivity.
