The Florida Highway Patrol Enters 2026 National Best Looking Cruiser Contest

Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) officially entered the 2026 American Association of State Troopers (AAST) “Best Looking Cruiser” competition while simultaneously celebrating America’s 250th anniversary. For the last three years, FHP’s iconic black‑and‑tan cruisers have earned the “Best Looking Cruiser” title, making Florida the first state in contest history to win three consecutive years.

This year, we are asking all Floridians and FHP supporters across the country to help us make history once again.

Voting begins Monday, June 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. EST and continues through Monday, July 13, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. EST. The top 13 states with the most votes will be featured in the 2027 wall calendar, and the top‑voted cruiser will appear on the cover.

Help us place FHP’s cruiser at the top of the AAST competition by casting your vote and selecting Florida as home to the best‑looking cruiser in the United States for the fourth year in a row.

Florida Highway Patrol won America's "Best Looking Cruiser Contest" for the third time in a row

The American Association of State Troopers announced the results on Friday.

“Florida is a state filled with pride and support for our law enforcement officers, and this historic, first ever three-peat is a reflection of that,” said FLHSMV Executive Director Dave Kerner. [weartv.com]

The Florida Highway Patrol

has officially entered the 2025 American Association of State Troopers “Best Looking Cruiser” competition, seeking a third consecutive title.

This year’s entry prominently features an FHP black-and-tan Corvette, a vehicle seized from a convicted drug trafficker.

FHP is asking Floridians to cast their votes for the cruiser. The public voting period runs from 10 a.m. June 30 to noon July 11. The cruiser that garners the most votes will be featured on the cover of the American Association of State Troopers, or AAST, 2026 calendar.

The Corvette featured in the competition was acquired through a joint criminal investigation with the Drug Enforcement Administration targeting a nationwide drug trafficking organization. FHP is currently utilizing the seized vehicle at various outreach events to promote traffic safety campaigns aimed at reducing crashes on Florida’s roadways.

Mural artist to be chosen for 601 Lake Avenue

Three finalists chosen to replace MLK mural in downtown Lake Worth Beach — Which is your favorite?

"Three Palm Beach County-based artists have been selected as finalists for a large-scale public mural in downtown Lake Worth Beach.

The winning mural will be chosen by the end of June to replace the fading Martin Luther King Jr. mural on the south exterior wall of the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County building at 601 Lake Ave.

The MLK mural, painted in 2017 by renowned Brazilian artist Eduardo Kobra, will be removed in the coming weeks as construction crews repair cracks and leaks in the wall. When the repairs are completed, the new mural will be painted, with an expected completion by early fall.

The three finalists for the new mural, chosen from 12 submissions, are West Palm Beach-based artist team Anón, made up of husband and wife Jhonattan and Samantha Arango; West Palm Beach-based artist Craig McInnis; and Boca Raton-based artist Trinity Rivard."

Florida Highway Patrol cruisers take first in best-looking contest

We all did it!

The American Association of State Troopers announced the winner of its 2023 America's Best Looking Cruiser Competition is the Florida Highway Patrol with the state's black-and-tan vehicles beating out second-place California by nearly 39,000 votes.

Final results were tallied at noon Monday and showed Florida Highway Patrol in the top spot. After California followed Nevada Highway Patrol, Indiana State Police in fourth, and Kentucky State Police in fifth. I think it was the gator that pushed us over the top.

Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and FHP used a variety of strategies to engage the community in this year's competition which ultimately led to an increase in votes and a surge of teamwork felt throughout the state as different law enforcement, state agencies, media organizations, businesses, and public figures came together to raise awareness of the competition and share in the state effort to win first place.
