Lake Worth Beach man pleads guilty to stealing election office equipment

A Lake Worth Beach resident and a registered Democrat accused of stealing equipment from the Palm Beach County supervisor of elections office decided whether he would fight the accusations.

According to court documents in Palm Beach County, John D. Panicci, 59, pleaded guilty Tuesday, Sept. 15, to unlawful use of computers or electronic devices.

Panicci was sentenced to time served in county jail, which was 16 days, placed on probation for two years, ordered to complete 100 hours of community service and must pay court costs.

As part of the plea deal, Panicci was ordered to complete a mental health evaluation and treatment; have no contact with, or be at, the Palm Beach County supervisor of elections office; and complete a 12-hour theft abatement course. [WPBF]
