Supreme Court lifts injunctions on Trump Travel Ban
The action Monday is a victory for President Donald Trump in the biggest legal controversy of his young presidency.
The court did leave one category of foreigners protected, those "with a credible claim of a bona fide relationship with a person or entity in the United States," the court said in an unsigned opinion.
The justices will hear arguments in the case in October.
Trump said last week that the ban would take effect 72 hours after being cleared by courts. The ban would apply to citizens of Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.
The Trump administration said the ban was needed to allow an internal review of the screening procedures for visa applicants from those countries. That review should be complete before October 2, the first day the justices could hear arguments in their new term.

President Donald J. Trump is committed to repealing the disaster known as Obamacare. The President continues to work with Congress to deliver for the American people the healthcare solution they deserve.
Will Democrats allow this to happen and work with Republicans for a better healthcare plan?

Senior falls and injures herself at Lake Worth beach parking lot

A Senior citizen, heard screaming in the upper parking lot last night at Lake Worth beach got the attention of the Mulligan's employee who was hired to take passengers from the lot to the restaurant by golf cart. George Hart, owner, felt it was too far for people to walk especially the elderly.
The incident happened around 7:00pm. The woman, 84 years old, was looking for the parking meter in the pitch dark, walked through bushes and fell and "broke open her face" according to a third party. Taken by ambulance, we do not know the details at this time.
City Manager Bornstein has admitted that the parking lot is one year behind schedule. There is still a lack of lighting. Mulligan's has devised some emergency temporary lighting so that their customers can see. The City says it wants Mulligans' lighting all permitted.

Alleged Drug Kingpin seen on Lake Avenue

Remember John Shealy, partner of Dylan Harrison of the Kava bar in downtown Lake Worth? To refresh your memory on Mr. Shealy-- the Judge ordered a $500,000, 10 percent bond and a $500,000 corporate surety bond on what the news had reported him as being--an "alleged synthetic drug kingpin." He was arraigned separately from Harrison because of a previous weapons charge.
A source has told me that he was just spotted this morning in front of Commissioner Amoroso's store on Lake Avenue having a chat with our commish. I am sure that they were just talking about the weather or the trials and tribulations of being a small business owner.

Hot News - Lake Worth Assistant Utility Director

Lake Worth Assistant Utility Director, Clayton Lindstrom, is a finalist for the position of Utilities Director for the city of Lakeland, Florida. Lakeland is a member of the Florida Municipal Power Agency.Lake Worth is currently in the process of exiting the FMPA's All requirements project. Lindstrom also sits on the newly formed Electric Utilities Advisory Board (EUAB) (as liaison), an advisory board formed to assist the city in the selection of a new electric service provider.

FMPA just agreed to their Settlement with Lake Worth

One new twist:
The Board just approve the settlement. Additionally, our request to receive settlement payments in lump sum instead of over 18 months was also approved. They agreed to two payments with the first $425k made as soon as all the legal documents are finalized (possibly July) and then the other $425k at end of the fiscal year.

Occupy Lake Worth

Occupy Lake Worth organizers simply took over our Bryant Park and bandshell without a permit and some marched down Lake Avenue without legal permission.
In fact, they didn't even bother to apply for a permit...that didn't even cross their anarchist minds. "Who us? Get a permit? You must be kidding." They did remember the bullhorn, however. Insolence at its finest.
The organizers want to shut down our economy and bring their socialistic message to the entire world and have no use even for our local laws or the people who reside here. It's our park. Next time, any of you who are there whose minds are still functioning properly, tell them to get the heck off of our park. Take that bullhorn away from Ana and Cara and give the crowd your own message.

The Board of the Chamber of Commerce is meeting tonight to bring back Tom Ramiccio as director. I was told that he has the votes.
Dan Perrin of Dorsey/E. Earl Smith Memory Gardens is leading the initiative to re-instate Ramiccio. A friend of Tom Ramiccio on the Board of Directors is Roger Manning, Banyan Printing where Ramiccio is employed. Some of the Directors who have been known to support Ramiccio in the past include Greg Rice, Dave Vespo, and Betty Resch. :) I have been unable to reach them for a comment.
Talk about disconnect.

Fire assessment passes on a 3/2 vote with Maxwell and Waterman dissenting. It comes back on October 4 because Government Services Group screwed up (so what else is new?) and sent out notices to former property owners. Notices subsequently had to be re-sent.
