The newly appointed Attorney General, who took office on February 5, 2025, emphasized her commitment to prioritizing violent crime reduction while addressing immigration enforcement. She specifically targeted sanctuary jurisdictions that resist cooperation with federal immigration authorities.

The Department of Justice has initiated legal proceedings against states failing to comply with federal immigration enforcement requirements. This marks a new phase in the administration's approach to immigration policy enforcement.

Bondi articulated her position during her Fox News appearance with a direct message. She stated: "We are sick and tired of Americans being murdered and these states protecting illegal aliens."

Supreme Court lifts injunctions on Trump Travel Ban

[NWI.com] The Supreme Court is letting the Trump administration mostly enforce its 90-day ban on travelers from six mostly Muslim countries, overturning lower court orders that blocked it.

The action Monday is a victory for President Donald Trump in the biggest legal controversy of his young presidency.

The court did leave one category of foreigners protected, those "with a credible claim of a bona fide relationship with a person or entity in the United States," the court said in an unsigned opinion.

The justices will hear arguments in the case in October.

Trump said last week that the ban would take effect 72 hours after being cleared by courts. The ban would apply to citizens of Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.

The Trump administration said the ban was needed to allow an internal review of the screening procedures for visa applicants from those countries. That review should be complete before October 2, the first day the justices could hear arguments in their new term.

"DOJ petitioned the US Supreme Court on Thursday to reinstate President Trump’s extreme vetting policy, which was blocked by injunction by three federal judges, all of whom have proven to be robed political hacks for the Democrat Party, two of them from the famed far left Ninth Circuit.

All three judges usurped the executive authority of the President of the United States, effectively appointing themselves President, clearly impeachable offenses, in my opinion.

One of the judges who ruled against President Trump’s extreme vetting policy was not only a partisan Democrat but also a bundler/fundraiser for the Democrat Party, while another, Derrick Watson, had dinner with Harvard classmate Barack Hussein the night before he ruled to block President Trump’s executive authority."

A Judge who cares about the law

"Judge Anthony Trenga, who was appointed by former President George W. Bush, said in his 32-page ruling that Trump was legally allowed to ban travel from those specific countries and that the executive order was not discriminatory in nature as the Palestinian activist who filed the lawsuit requesting an injunction had suggested.

Trenga wrote that the president “has unqualified authority to bar physical entry to the United States at the border.” He also pointed out that the executive order itself does not mention religion and has a “state secular purpose” of protecting U.S. citizens from terrorist attacks.

The judge didn’t view Trump’s campaign rhetoric about a “Muslim ban” as being dispositive and did not accord it the weight that Judge Derrick Watson in Hawaii did.

Here’s a good breakdown as to why Judge Watson’s opinion was wrong, including finding a violation of constitutional rights of non-citizens.

The interpretation of the judge in Virginia is much more in line with normal interpretation of the law.

Generally, you interpret a law, or in this case an order, based on the plain language, you don’t go looking at everything that may have ever been said on the subject, not even necessarily on the order itself.

You don’t look beyond it at intent unless the law/order is itself unclear, which this order is not. The order itself has no religion and has no discriminatory aspect about it. Not to mention as the judge in Virginia correctly notes, it is the purview of the president to set immigration policy, not the courts.

So thankfully there’s at least one judge who cares about the law and not reading his own opinion into it."

"Last week, U.S. District Judge Derrick Watson blocked Donald Trump’s revised travel ban just hours before it was set to go into effect. Now, a series of significant problems with the ruling have come to light.
In his ruling, Watson himself admitted that there’s nothing about the executive order that “would be problematic if not for his interpretation of Trump’s statements before the order was issued.” But a ban should be halted for lawful reasons, not personal ones".

President Trump's Temporary Travel Ban

"A federal district court denied a request to place an emergency restraining order on President Donald Trump’s modified immigration executive order, an attorney representing states opposing the order told Reuters Friday night.

The initial executive order posted by the Trump administration — which restricted travel from seven countries with majority Muslim populations — last January was challenged by lawyers in states such as Washington and Minnesota.

Seattle U.S. District Court Judge James Robart issued a temporary restraining order against the initial policy last month.

The new order narrowed the travel restriction down to six countries and would give exception to green card holders among other changes. According to Reuters, Robart did not apply his restraining order to the new immigration order."

Judge Robart assaulted The Constitution

As you watch the media and their coverage of the President Trump Executive Order on a travel ban from 7 countries, the Ninth Circuit Courts decision seems a slap in the face for the President. President Trump's Executive Order Ban

Aren't you sick to death of the now over-used expression--"This is what America Stands for?" It doesn't stand for immigrants entering our country who want to do us harm.

"U.S. Rep. Lois Frankel, former mayor of West Palm Beach, joined the protest, which was organized by Women’s March Florida and South Florida Activism. She just had to give us all her political bull...politics before our country. The executive order applies only to non-U.S. citizens, so anyone with U.S. citizenship—whether that person in natural-born or naturalized—is not affected. But on Sunday, Reince Preibus, the White House chief of staff, said on NBC’s Meet the Press that Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents would have the “discretionary authority” to question U.S. citizens coming from the seven countries. CBP agents have had that authority even before Friday’s executive order."[The Atlantic]

This is NOT a Muslim ban. If it were, Trump missed the top ten Muslim nations in the world. Do we know who these people are who are coming into our country?  Are they vetted thoroughly?  The Press and politics is blowing this out of proportion to suit their agenda. Hold Donald Trump to the same standard as Barack Obama.

For 120 days, the order bars the entry of any refugee who is awaiting resettlement in the U.S. It also prohibits all Syrian refugees from entering the U.S. until further notice. Additionally, it bans the citizens of seven majority-Muslim countries—Iraq, Iran, Syria, Somalia, Sudan, Libya, and Yemen—from entering the U.S. on any visa category.

President Trump's temporary ban on travelers from Seven Mid-East Countries

"The Immigration and Nationality Act passed June 27, 1952 revised the laws relating to immigration, naturalization, and nationality for the United States. That act, which became Public Law 414, established both the law and the intent of Congress regarding the immigration of Aliens to the US and remains in effect today. Among the many issues it covers, one in particular, found in Chapter 2 Section 212, is the prohibition of entry to the US if the Alien belongs to an organization seeking to overthrow the government of the United States by "force, violence, or other unconstitutional means." This, by its very definition, rules out Islamic immigration to the United States, but this law is being ignored by the White House.

Islamic immigration to the US would be prohibited under this law because the Koran, Sharia Law and the Hadith all require complete submission to Islam, which is antithetical to the US government, the Constitution, and to the Republic.

All Muslims who attest that the Koran is their life's guiding principal subscribe to submission to Islam and its form of government. Now the political correct crowd would say that Islamists cannot be prohibited from entering the US because Islam is a religion. Whether it is a religion is immaterial because the law states that Aliens who are affiliated with any "organization" that advocates the overthrow of our government are prohibited..Enforce the law," says Susan P!!

President Trump is making America safe again in spite of the first snafu that his security team now fully understands. There is nothing wrong with re-screening those holding Green Cards when re-entering this country.

Trump's executive order was based on a bill that Obama signed into law in December 2015. The countries were chosen through Obama's Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act as part of an omnibus spending bill. The legislation restricted access to the Visa Waiver Program, which allows citizens from 38 countries who are visiting the United States for less than 90 days to enter without a visa. Right now, the temporary ban involves 7 countries for 90 days.
