Artificial Intelligence

Time to Pump the Brakes on Artificial Intelligence Finance?

Big Tech needs trillions to fund their AI dream, much of it from insurance companies and pension funds.

Artificial Intelligence dealmaking has surged in 2025 and looks to keep right on going in 2026 on the way to the stupidity where all booms eventually end up.

Deals among the major players have reached around $1 trillion. Nearly every week, tech giants like Oracle, Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, Google and Nvidia announce multi-billion dollar circular investment deals with AI, large language models, or “chatbot” creators such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and xAI, along with data center providers like Coreweave and several smaller firms.

These are circular investments where the tech giants pour billions into AI chatbot companies, which rely on massive data centers and purchase or lease millions of graphic processing units (GPUs), the chips used for AI computing.

Amazingly, the deals closed in 2025 may be just the tip of the iceberg. A recent study by McKinsey & Co. concluded that data centers will require $6.7 trillion worldwide to keep pace with demand for computing power.

What could possibly go wrong?

Another costly Biden program bites the dust

IRS Closes Down Free Direct File Service

A Treasury report found that 0.5 percent of 146 million tax returns for tax year 2024 were filed via the program.

Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), the ranking member on the Senate Finance Committee, released a statement on Nov. 6 criticizing the IRS’s decision. He said the program should remain in effect for the 2026 filing season, which is slated to start in January 2026.

Direct File was rolled out as a pilot program in 2024 for the 2023 tax year after the IRS was tasked with looking into how to create a filing system under the Inflation Reduction Act that was signed into law by President Joe Biden in 2022.

“I wrote the bill that created Direct File because the existing free options were insufficient and the big tax prep companies had been caught red-handed using deceptive practices to scam taxpayers into overpaying,” Wyden said.

“Direct File had low overall participation and relatively high costs and burdens on the federal government, compared to other free filing options,” the report stated.

It noted that less than 0.5 percent of all 146 million tax returns that were filed for tax year 2024 were submitted through the Direct File program, which cost the federal government about $41 million for that year.

Accountability Comes Knocking in Georgia

Stacey Abrams’ Nonprofit Implodes Amid Corruption Scandal

After years of headlines, fundraising drives, and carefully polished “voting rights” messaging, Stacey Abrams’ nonprofit, the New Georgia Project, is finally shutting down. The group’s board released a self-congratulatory statement full of glowing language about “milestones” and “community engagement,” but the reality is less inspiring.

This wasn’t a nonprofit that ran out of mission—it ran out of excuses. For a decade, Abrams’ political machine operated in the gray area between activism and campaign work, using lofty slogans to mask some very questionable behavior.

The Georgia Senate wasn’t buying the PR spin, and their patience finally wore thin. Lawmakers opened a serious investigation into the New Georgia Project’s finances and campaign coordination, and it’s the same Senate panel also digging into Fulton County DA Fani Willis’ politically charged prosecution of President Donald Trump.

That overlap isn’t coincidence—it’s a sign that Georgia’s political watchdogs are starting to notice the same familiar fingerprints on a lot of “progressive” projects. The investigation zeroed in on potential campaign finance violations and questionable firings inside Abrams’ nonprofit, raising new doubts about what the group was really up to behind closed doors.

Germany's Plan to help finish the Ukrainian War

Germany Pushes to Unlock Frozen Russian Assets for $164 Billion Loan to Ukraine

Friedrich Merz has changed the country’s position on the move, to which it had previously objected, over fears it could be illegal.

“We need maximum pressure on Putin to finally end his brutal war against Ukraine. The killing must come to an end. That is why it is right to make stronger use of the frozen Russian assets. Germany is ready to explore new paths that are legally possible and responsible,” Klingbeil said in a post on the Finance Ministry’s X account.

“We will continue to work intensively on this within the circle of G7 and EU finance ministers. We must further strengthen and secure for years Ukraine’s defense capabilities. And when it comes to reconstruction, Putin will have to pay for the destruction caused by his war.”

Until now, the EU has taken only interest generated from the Russian assets, which were frozen after Moscow invaded Ukraine in February 2022.

Ilhan's net worth explodes

Ilhan Omar’s Net Worth Reaches $30M

Rep. Ilhan Omar’s personal fortune exploded to upwards of $30 million in 2024, the Minnesota Democrat disclosed just months after telling the press it is "ridiculous" and "categorically false" to say she is worth millions of dollars.

Omar reported in her latest financial disclosure that she and her husband, former political consultant Tim Mynett, accumulated a net worth at the end of 2024 ranging from at least $6 million to $30 million.

Their wealth is derived almost entirely from the value of Mynett’s ownership stake in his two companies that, together, were worth no more than $51,000 at the end of 2023.

The exact value of Omar’s personal fortune at the end of 2024 is unclear—lawmakers disclose the value of their holdings and debts in ranges. Still, the figures in Omar’s latest disclosures show that her and her husband’s net worth skyrocketed by at least 3,500 percent in just one year.

Ilhan was a Somalia refugee who came here with nothing. A lot of Congressmen become outrageously wealthy on a salary of $174,000 a year.

Last Hurrah: "Spend It All!"

$46 Billion Left? White House Staff Ordered to Use It Before Trump Returns!

When you think it can’t get any more absurd, here comes the Biden administration with one final cash grab

The White House has essentially turned on the “everything must go” sale, urging staff to burn through every available dollar before Trump returns to the Oval Office. It’s like watching a bunch of teenagers with mom and dad’s credit card on a spring break shopping spree.

White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients, with all the urgency of a man fleeing a burning building, sent a memo to White House staffers telling them to “obligate as much funding as possible” before Biden’s presidency ends. Yes, that’s a real quote. Translation? Spend every penny legally allowed before Trump shows up to lock the vault.

According to Zients, Biden’s team has already spent 98% of the available funding through October. But like that friend who’s “almost” done with their diet before they see dessert, they’re not quite ready to stop. Zients told staffers to aim for that last 2% — a mere $46 billion — still up for grabs in the 2025 fiscal year.

Read about the worst administration in history

This is about forcing Trump’s hand. By locking in all these funds, they’re trying to create legal and political obstacles for his administration whose goal is to reduce spending.

Money doesn't buy you Love or the Presidency

Kamala Harris's $1 Billion Campaign Fails Despite Celebrity Endorsements

In a staggering financial feat, Kamala Harris's presidential campaign, despite amassing and spending over $1.2 billion, did not succeed in winning the election.

According to Daily Mail, the campaign's prominent spending on celebrity endorsements and lavish event productions could not secure a victory.

The campaign's financial journey began with significant investments in media and public engagements. Notably, Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Productions received $1 million on October 15, after Winfrey hosted a town hall event in September supporting Harris.

Winfrey's involvement peaked when she appeared at Harris's final rally in Philadelphia, a star-studded event also featuring Lady Gaga, Ricky Martin, and Katy Perry. This was one of many high-cost events that punctuated Harris's campaign trail.

Tim Walz sent millions to Wuhan partner

Cruz Drops Bombshell Claim: Walz Sent Millions To Wuhan Lab Partner

In a stunning development, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz reveals Minnesota governor and Democrat vice presidential nominee funneled millions of taxpayer dollars to a medical research lab that is partnered with the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

In a statement Cruz announces he “sent a letter to the Hormel Institute regarding its partnership with the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) and financial resources secured for the Hormel Institute by Governor Tim Walz.”

“The WIV has been credibly implicated as the point of origin of COVID-19 and conducts its activities under the auspices of the Chinese Communist Party,” Cruz notes.

In the letter, Cruz wrote, “For over a decade, Governor Tim Walz has acted as one of the Institute’s most ardent supporters, securing millions of taxpayer dollars to fund its operations, including over $2 million in federal funding for technology acquisitions and a $5 million earmark to expand your Institute’s reach."

"The Governor’s support for the Hormel Institute has remained steadfast, continuing even after the FBI concluded on February 28, 2023 that COVID-19 pandemic likely originated from the WIV.”

Parlaying the Biden Name

Banks Have Flagged HUNDREDS Of Biden Business Transactions!

As much as far-left mainstream media wants to stick to Biden’s narrative that everything the conservatives said is fake news, unfortunately, the overwhelming evidence can no longer be ignored and said otherwise.

The Hunter Biden investigation has turned up evidence of corruption so blatant that not even mainstream outlets like CBS News can ignore it anymore.

Veteran journalist Catherine Herridge has turned up evidence that federal authorities flagged more than 150 bank transactions from Hunter Biden and James Biden as suspicious activity.

Lake Worth (Beach) is broke

Blaming it on added expenses because of the coronavirus (according to the city manager), the entire commission voted to borrow $10 to $20 million to keep the city afloat.

The reasons to borrow:
(a) The City faces an unprecedented and temporary strain on its finances due to the financial impacts of the COVID -19 pandemic.
(b) It is vital to the citizens of the City that basic city services continue to be provided.
(c) The City desires to incur short-term Obligations to continue to fund essential City services as a “Project” vital to the needs of citizens of the City.

Commissioner Hardy interjected BS politics into the meeting when he said, that like businesses and individuals, state and local governments are in fierce need of their own stimulus. He criticized Florida Sen. Rick Scott for “politicizing” requests from states seeking federal help for coronavirus relief. "The U.S. House of Representatives passed a $3 trillion aid package on May 15 to help state and local governments, but its been dismissed by the Republican-controlled Senate," he said.

Then the Palm Beach Post thought it was a good idea to mention the political party of a few of our commissioners even though this is supposed to be a non-partisan commission. Of course, we know it isn't...not with Robinson and especially Hardy on the dais. But then there is Maxwell who approves of spending and spending more and more and getting us deeper in debt which is not a Republican trait.

Let's figure out how to cut spending instead of more debt. And please explain how we will pay this money back.

The Bohemian - Urban Living in Lake Worth (Beach)

All a developer has to do is ask and he will receive

What a reputation Lake Worth (Beach) has on top of being the most gullible city around.  Even the CEO of Affiliated Development said that naming this building was appropriate as they believe the name is very fitting--captures the essence and the personality of Lake Worth (Beach). Not my personality!

There will be 154 one bedroom units and 46 two bedrooms with delivery date in 2022.

It was said that the average renter spends $30k a year in local spending. They are not building this rental for the average Lake Worthian as the majority of our city makes that much in one year.

It will be 7 stories, roof-top observation deck, 200 "luxury" rental multi family transit oriented units with parking garage. 120 parking spaces will be dedicated to City use out of 360 spaces, 12 of which are on the street level. They want a 35 year lease on the 120 parking spaces and the city to pay them $2,458,958 for the 1st year so that they can use that lease to get their financing; years 2-8 would be $72,000 and years 9-35 would be $144,000 a year.

The commission voted 4/1 to accept the proposal with Herman Robinson dissenting because of not enough discussion and/or understanding of the over $2 million investment we would have to make. Commissioner Robinson, once again, voted correctly and here I was worried while he was running for election that he would agree with our tax and spend lame duck commissioner on everything. Where is this money coming from? Left over general obligation road bond money? When, if ever, would we recapture this money?

This commission has no problem spending other people's money. And just think, 200 more people to use Dixie Highway and cars visiting the retail portion of this building.

Getting closer to the Hunter Biden corruption

Treasury Department Turns Over Hunter Biden Financial Docs to Senate Republicans

"The Treasury Department has granted a request from Senate Republicans for financial documents related to Hunter Biden’s relationship with a Ukrainian gas company, according to Senator Ron Wyden, the ranking Democrat on the Finance Committee, who criticized the move.

Senator Chuck Grassley, chair of the Finance Committee, and Senator Ron Johnson, chair of Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, obtained the sensitive financial records as part of their continuing investigation into former vice president Joe Biden’s son’s possible conflicts of interest involving his lucrative position on the board of Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings." President Trump sues to keep his financial records private

Supreme Court takes up fight over Trump financial records

The Supreme Court temporarily stopped enforcement of a House committee subpoena, siding for now with President Donald Trump over Congress in a case that could reshape the limits for impeachment and other investigations into a sitting president.

On Friday, the Supreme Court agreed to hear appeals from President Trump in three cases involving efforts to gain access to his financial records, setting up a landmark separation of powers showdown. This will happen in March 2020. [The Hill]

Mad Max - Trump's biggest tormenter

I would guess that 80 year old Maxine Waters is going around her $4.8 million dollar house shouting out-loud, to herself  "Impeach 45, Impeach 45."

With the Democrats picking up seats in the House, they now have the majority. It will be gridlock like we've never seen before. I would suspect that our President is ready for all these obstructionists.

Having been accused of ethics violations, she has faced serious ethics problems following the 2008 financial crisis, accused of improperly intervening on behalf of a minority-owned bank for which her husband had served on the board of directors and held a large block of stock.Waters denied the allegation and the charge was dismissed.

Now, Mad Max will be Chair of our house Financial Services Committee.
