Biden adds extra Secret Service agent to Air Force One staircase to avoid falling

President Joe Biden has been assigned an additional Secret Service agent to stand at the foot of the stairs leading to Air Force One as a precautionary measure, given his reported instances of stumbling while ascending the aircraft's stairs.

The decision comes in response to concerns over Biden's physical stability, as he has reportedly tripped and fallen on multiple occasions while boarding Air Force One.

President Biden has been avoiding climbing up the sometimes-wobbly 18-foot staircase that is trucked over to the plane's upper door. More often than not, he is using a much shorter and sturdier set of stairs that fold out from the belly of the plane.

In 2018, Boeing signed a contract with the federal government to build a pair of aircraft that would serve as Air Force One.

Yet as Business Insider reported on Friday, that deal has turned into a financial disaster for the aerospace giant. Company has lost roughly $2 billion since taking on Air Force One project.

Boeing's third-quarter earnings report was released last week, and it showed that the company lost $482 million on construction of the two 747-200B jumbo jets.

No one expected Bidenomics! The company attributed the losses to higher-than-estimated manufacturing costs, engineering changes, labor instability, and negotiations with suppliers. And they had a fixed contract under Trump. The company has pushed the delivery date of the two jets back by another two years to 2026.

President Joe Biden tripped again Sunday on the steps leading up to Air Force One, potentially putting his 80-year-old body in danger of a severe tumble that could hospitalize him.

He did the same thing in Poland 12 days ago.

Despite the lengthy steps up to the presidential plane, neither the Secret Service nor the first lady accompanied the president when he made his latest stumble as he prepared to depart Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama. Take a look:
