US Coast Guard Offloads $32 Million Worth of Cocaine Near Florida
The two separate seizures, which took place in international waters of the Caribbean Sea, totaled 2,450 pounds of cocaine and led to arrests according to a statement by the United States Coast Guard following the incident.Coast Guard says more than 2,450 pounds of cocaine, valuing approximately $32.2 million, were seized by the crew of Coast Guard Cutter Margaret Norvell in Miami, the U.S. Coast Guard said Tuesday.
Taken into custody were six suspected smugglers, who now face prosecution by the Department of Justice in federal court.
