Alaska Oil Lease Sales

Trump Administration’s Alaska Oil Lease Sale Generates $163 Million

Signals Energy Boom and Native Support

For four long years, the Biden administration strangled American energy production — and every household in the country felt the squeeze. Regulation after regulation choked off domestic oil and gas, sending fuel costs skyward while Washington delivered smug lectures about climate goals most Americans never asked for.

Heating bills ballooned. Gas prices gnawed at family budgets. And the communities most dependent on resource development — many of them indigenous — watched their livelihoods get torched in the name of green orthodoxy.

But something big just happened. Really big.

From Just the News:

The Department of Interior held an oil and gas lease sale this week for the National Petroleum Reserve Alaska (NPR-A). It was by every measure a huge success. The sale resulted in 187 leases and generated $163 million.

The sale brought in some of the big players in oil and gas, including Shell, Exxon, and ConocoPhillips. It signaled a lot of interest from the industry in oil and gas development on Alaska’s North Slope. It was a big win for Trump’s unleashing American energy policy, but it’s also a win for the North Slope IƱupiat Alaska natives.

Let that sink in. When the biggest names in global energy put $163 million on the table in a single sale, they aren’t dabbling. They’re making a serious bet on America’s energy future. And frankly, it’s about time.

See why this matters...

Trump’s Renewed Push for Energy Independence - Drill, baby, Drill!

Trump pushes to unlock Alaska refuge for oil exploration

President Donald Trump is charging full steam ahead to unlock the vast energy potential of Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), a move that’s got environmentalists clutching their recycled hemp bags.

The administration is gearing up to allow oil and gas leasing across the entire 1.56-million-acre coastal plain of ANWR, a pristine tundra on Alaska’s North Slope, reversing over four decades of protective status as part of a broader push for fossil fuel dominance, Politico reported.

This isn’t a new fight—ANWR’s coastal plain, part of the largest wildlife refuge in North America established in 1980, has long been a battleground between energy advocates and conservationists.

Under Biden, a revised environmental impact statement in November 2024 restricted leasing to just 400,000 acres with tight rules on caribou habitat, and a second lease sale before he left office drew zero interest.

Now, Trump is back with a vengeance, issuing an executive order on his first day in his current term to rescind Biden’s restrictions and reopen the entire coastal plain for drilling.

Still, with a budget reconciliation bill passed in July mandating at least four lease sales over the next decade, the administration is betting big on Alaska’s untapped reserves. It’s a gamble, but if it pays off, it could mean energy security over endless progressive hand-wringing.

Sean Spicer torches Media coverage of Putin/Trump Meeting

Sean Spicer Goes Scorched Earth On Trump-Putin Obsessed Libs

Former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer didn’t hold back in his latest takedown of the corporate media’s shallow coverage of President Donald Trump’s historic summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska.

While Trump worked to broker peace between Russia and Ukraine—a monumental task that could save countless lives—the liberal press was fixated on trivialities like the color of the carpet and ceremonial details.

Spicer, speaking on the 2WAY show, called out the media’s obsession with “process” over results, a recurring theme in their biased coverage of Trump’s presidency.

“I was sort of blown away … this has been the problem from Trump day one. They always worry about the process. ‘Oh my god, the carpet was red.’ Who gives a crap?” Spicer said. “If you get peace, if you stop people from killing and end the destruction, what the hell does it matter?

And yet all of these people have their panties in a wad about, ‘Oh my god, he rolled out the thing.’”

Trump/Putin Summit in Alaska - ‘No Deal Until There’s a Deal’

Top Takeaways from Trump-Putin Summit

President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin left the world guessing on Friday after a historic summit that yielded no details about what was discussed, what was agreed to and what remaining sticking points remain to ending the war with Ukraine.

The two leaders holed up behind closed doors for around three hours at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska. What they talked about, however, remains largely a mystery as the two leaders, standing side-by-side
at a joint news conference, revealed very little of what “progress” they said was made. They took no questions from the press.

Here are the top takeaways from the summit:
  1. No deal on ceasefire but ‘progress’ made
  2. Trump gives Putin red-carpet treatment
  3. Much remains a mystery
  4. Carefully choreographed around ‘peace’
  5. Trump to call Zelensky, world leaders

The meeting lasted only three hours but absolutely nothing came out of it other than detente. Putin suggested that they have their next meeting in Moscow but I would doubt that would be the location. Ceasefire was not agreed unless certain conditions were met to Putin's satisfaction.

I watched this from 1pm yesterday until Trump left Alaska and was totally disappointed. Dealing wih a sociopath is tricky business...even if you did write the Art of the Deal. More information should be leaked out today.

Trump-Putin Meeting today in Alaska

Trump Issues Warning to Putin Ahead of Summit

President Donald Trump warned Wednesday that there will be "very severe consequences" if Russian President Vladimir Putin refuses to agree to end the war in Ukraine following Friday's U.S.-Russia summit in Alaska.

French President Emmanuel Macron said Trump was "very clear" during a virtual meeting with European leaders that the United States aims to secure a ceasefire at the summit.

In the same meeting, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told participants he believes Putin "is bluffing" ahead of his talks with Trump. Zelensky accused Putin of "trying to apply pressure on all sectors of the Ukrainian front" to project that Russia is "capable of occupying all of Ukraine."

Zelensky also dismissed Putin's public posture on sanctions, saying the Russian leader acts "as if they do not matter to him and are ineffective," but in reality, sanctions are "very helpful and are hitting Russia's war economy hard."

The Alaskan Summit

White House considering inviting Zelensky to Alaska summit?

Would three be better than two? While President Trump announced Friday that he'd be meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska Aug. 15, word is now coming out of the White House that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky may also get an invitation.

According to NBC News, a senior U.S. official and three people briefed on the internal discussions say it is a possibility.

"It's being discussed," one of the people briefed on the discussions said. "Everyone is very hopeful that would happen."

I could be totally off the mark here but IMO, this is not going to happen. Two enemies in the same meeting with Trump--sparks will fly and it could get worse.

The Trump Administration has long argued that Ukraine would have to give up land in exchange for peace. Zelensky says no way will that happen. Trump has to use his Art of the Deal to get both sides to compromise in order to end the war.

Chinese Research ship off coast of Alaska

Chinese Research Ship Detected Off Alaska Coast

A China-flagged research vessel was detected Friday off the coast of Alaska, the U.S. Coast Guard said.

The Coast Guard reported Saturday that the Xue Long 2, an icebreaker, was detected about 290 nautical miles north of Utqiagvik, Alaska, in the North American Arctic.

The Xue Long 2 is operated by China's Polar Research Institute.

The ship was in the U.S.'s Extended Continental Shelf, or ECS, which is a portion of the continental shelf that goes beyond 200 miles nautical miles off the coast, according to the State Department. The ship was determined to be 130 nautical miles inside the ECS.

This comes after four Russian military planes were spotted and tracked flying near the Alaskan coast Tuesday by North American Aerospace Defense Command. [cbs]

The aircraft flew through a section of international airspace called the Alaskan Air Defense Identification Zone. While the Alaska ADIZ is considered part of international airspace, it is defined as an area where sovereign U.S. airspace ends but "that requires the ready identification of all aircraft in the interest of national security," according to NORAD.

China and Russia encroaching militarily near Alaska

Proximity Matters: China And Russia Boost Military Presence Near Alaska

As President Donald Trump highlights the critical strategic importance of the warming and melting Arctic as he pushes for control over Greenland and even possibly Canada, Beijing and Moscow are reinforcing his concerns by encroaching militarily on U.S. Arctic territory around Alaska.

And they are doing so in multiple domains. As such, the defense of the American homeland is taking on a dramatic newfound importance.

With previously ice-bound waters now open, both military and commercial vessels can navigate routes once deemed impassable. The Northern Sea Route (NSR) has emerged as a direct competitor to the traditional Suez Canal, offering a faster, more efficient alternative, drastically cutting travel time between Asia and Europe.

Since the Arctic also provides the shortest avenue for missile attacks between Russia and the U.S., it is vital for missile defense and nuclear deterrence.

Of the two powers, China is most concerning, now calling itself a “near Arctic” power.

Mount McKinley

Trump Vows to Change Name Back on America’s Tallest Mountain

The campaign is over, but you would never know that by listening to Donald Trump these days.

Trump is still poking Democrats, this time by suggesting he will restore Mount McKinley to its "original" name.

In 2015, in a nod to locals, then-President Barack Obama, pandering to Alaskan native Americans, changed the name of the mountain to Denali.

Since 1917, the largest mountain in the country, located in south-central Alaska, had been known as Mount McKinley. The mountain had been named after President William McKinley, who was assassinated during his second term. McKinley was shot by Leon Czolgosz on September 6, 1901. He passed away eight days later, with Teddy Roosevelt, one of our grestest presidents, taking over the presidency.

The Koyukon are the natives that inhabited the land in that area, referred to the mountain as Denali for hundreds of years. However, in 1896, a prospector referred to the mountain as Mount McKinley, with the name being formally changed in 1917.

Bomber Intercept off of Alaska

US Intercepts Russian and Chinese Bombers Off Alaska Coast

Enemy Bombers took off right after Biden's 13 minute speech

"The U.S. military intercepted several Russian and Chinese bombers in international airspace near the coast of Alaska Wednesday.

Two Russian Tu-95s and two Chinese H-6s entered what is known as the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone, North American Aerospace Defense Command said in a statement Wednesday night.

The aircraft were “detected, tracked and intercepted,” NORAD said. They remained in the Alaska ADIZ and did not enter U.S. airspace.

The bombers were intercepted by U.S. F-16 and F-35 fighter jets, along with Canadian CF-18s and other support aircraft, a U.S. defense official confirmed to CBS News."

Chinese Warships off coast of Alaska and Russian Warships in Cuba

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is pushing for a new global order under its control. The push for a new international power structure came to the forefront after a meeting between CCP leader Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin during a gathering of leaders from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

They now aim to create an alternative global security alliance, along with a new push for a “multipolar world” where the United States would no longer be the world leader.

Multiple Chinese warships were spotted off the coast of Alaska by the U.S. Coast Guard. The ship sightings come just a week after the Chinese navy began its annual joint patrol with the Russian navy in the Pacific Ocean. Following a report saying Russia is adapting to U.S. arms in Ukraine, retired Col. Bob Hamilton says it’s a “natural process in warfare.”

Wow...And a group of Russian Navy ships, including a nuclear-powered submarine, arrived in Cuba in a sign of strengthening ties between the two Cold War allies.

Russian frigate Admiral Gorshkov – the first of a four-ship convoy – fired a 21-gun salute after entering Havana harbor, which was answered by the Cubans with cannon fire from an 18th-century colonial fort built by the Spanish to guard the port.

The Gorshkov is one of the Russian Navy’s most modern ships, and was followed by the nuclear-powered submarine Kazan, a rescue tug, and an oil tanker.

Biden's blatant overreach empowering our Enemies

Dept. of Interior Shuts Down Alaskan Fossil Fuel Lands

"Reports broke over the weekend that the Department of the Interior had locked down areas of Alaska for mining as well as oil and gas production.

This is going to have a major impact on our energy supplies, not to mention the devastating impact it will have on Alaska’s economy.

Rick Whitbeck, Alaska state director for Power The Future, stated the size of the land that is now off limits is as big as the state of Pennsylvania.

He stated, “Today’s double-whammy attack on Alaska’s resource development opportunities makes 65 times the Biden administration has targeted our state’s energy and economic future.

This administration has completely kowtowed to radical environmentalists in an effort to gain favor at the ballot box."

Attempted Hijacking of an Alaska Airlines plane

A US airliner has been under an attempted hijacking on an Alaska Airlines flight

The Plane left Washington and was diverted to Portland Oregon after an off-duty pilot in the jumper seat of the cockpit tried to pull the emergency shut off for the airline.

An off-duty pilot riding as a passenger in the cockpit of an Alaska Airlines flight Sunday tried to “disrupt the operation of the engines,” forcing the flight en route to San Francisco to divert to Portland, Oregon, the airline said in a statement Monday.

The suspect, identified by police as Joseph D. Emerson, 44, was subdued by the flight crew and taken into custody by the Port of Portland police officers, the port said in a separate statement.

Online booking records show Emerson has been charged with 83 felony counts of attempted murder, 83 counts of reckless endangerment and one count of endangering an aircraft.

Biden working against America

Joe Biden continues to enact policies that hurt America

and will hurt the average American when implemented. This is a pattern that has many politicians, including Democrats, questioning his tactics that appear to go around Congress.

Biden has been working to limit fossil fuel production since the day he took office and has even vowed to totally eliminate some fossil fuel sources, such as coal. His latest action that limits potential oil production is being criticized across the board from Republicans to those in his own liberal party.

Biden’s administration took aggressive action against oil production when the Department of the Interior (DOI) announced Wednesday that seven remaining leases awarded from a 2021 sale of land in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge’s (ANWR) Coastal Plain would be invalidated, according to a DOI press release.

The agency is withdrawing over 13 million acres of the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska (NPRA) from oil and gas leasing activity to ensure “maximum protection.”

There have been 55 executive orders and actions targeting Alaska specifically since Biden took office in 2021.

U.S. shot down a UFO over Alaska

US fighter aircraft shot down an 'object'over Alaska at 1:45pm

Said it was a threat to aircraft

I've been watching Fox over the last few hours on this. Totally unbelievable that they shot down an "object," did not identify it or where it came from...shot it down. Don't tell me NORAD doesn't know what it is.

It was not mentioned right away by John Kirby until a reporter asked about it. What are they covering up?

Russian lawmaker suggests we give back Alaska and pay Reparations

‘GIVE ALASKA BACK’, Says Russian Lawmaker to United States

From the moment that Russian troops began arriving in Ukraine, the world has been trying to understand just what Vladimir Putin’s endgame is going to be.

The Russian President’s narrative regarding the invasion has been scattered, inconsistent, and flimsy. First there were concerns about “denazification”, and then biological weapons lab, and then a number of other bizarre suggestions as well.

The best that anyone can figure, Putin is simply trying to rebuild either the USSR, or worse, the old Russian Empire.

Now, at least one Russian lawmaker has called for the US to give up Alaska in this pursuit.
