Bill Maher Blasts Reporter for 'World Class Hater' Post About Trump

“Overtime” host Bill Maher didn’t hold back Friday night when he called out former ABC News reporter Terry Moran. Maher was stunned by Moran’s social media rant targeting President Donald Trump and White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller. The longtime journalist had posted that both men were “world-class” haters before deleting the message.

"This guy's a reporter, what the f---?" Maher said on his “Overtime” segment. Guest Ian Bremmer agreed, saying there are "lots of jobs" where you can post something like that — “journalism is not one of them.” Maher said he expected Moran to be impartial, not emotional.

"Lots of jobs you can have and do that, that is the one job I'm looking at you to be impartial, just give me the facts, I don't need to know this from you, Terry Moran," Maher said. He went on to quote the now-deleted post. "Miller is a man who is richly endowed with a capacity for hatred… he eats his hate."

ABC News initially suspended Moran over the post but ultimately let him go. “We are at the end of our agreement with Terry Moran… we have made the decision to not renew,” a spokesperson told Fox News Digital. “At ABC News, we hold all of our reporters to the highest standards of objectivity, fairness and professionalism.”

He was a senior advisor for policy for President Trump during his first administration. Before, he served as the communications director for then-Senator Jeff Sessions.

"Real Time host Bill Maher urged Democrats to consider an open convention. He believes this could boost voter enthusiasm and lead to a victory in November.

In a guest essay for The New York Times, Maher expressed concerns about Biden's age. "As Joe Biden himself would say, 'Here's the deal': What happened at the debate last week wasn't a tragedy, it was a blessing in disguise," Maher wrote.

Maher suggested that a new candidate aligns with the American love for novelty. He mentioned Obama's youth as a key factor in his 2008 victory. Obama’s short political record played to his advantage.

Maher continued, saying Democrats couldn’t buy the enthusiasm an open convention would generate. Hosting it in Chicago, known for its convention drama, would add to the excitement.

Instead of repeating old talking points, Maher said, an open convention could revitalize the party. He compared the recent debate to the worst episode of 'The Golden Bachelor.'"

I’m telling you, that case would have never been brought. And that’s what is offensive to people. And it should be, because if there is anything left, it’s belief in the justice system.”

Sununu, a Republican who despises former President Donald Trump, has thrown his support behind former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination. However, his endorsement did little to sway voters in the New Hampshire primary. During his appearance on the show, Maher quickly brought Sununu back down to earth with a dose of reality.

Maher pointed out that Sununu’s preferred candidate, Nikki Haley, currently has no chance of being the GOP nominee. Sununu had argued that holding Trump’s legal trial on election interference on March 4 would only benefit him, as it coincides with a mass primary day known as Super Tuesday.

At first, Render responded with wise advice.

This is the policies that will affect our generations for the next 20, 30, 40 years to come. So close your eyes and listen to the policies that are being pushed," he said. "Make it policy-based."
