Mural artist to be chosen for 601 Lake Avenue

Three finalists chosen to replace MLK mural in downtown Lake Worth Beach — Which is your favorite?

"Three Palm Beach County-based artists have been selected as finalists for a large-scale public mural in downtown Lake Worth Beach.

The winning mural will be chosen by the end of June to replace the fading Martin Luther King Jr. mural on the south exterior wall of the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County building at 601 Lake Ave.

The MLK mural, painted in 2017 by renowned Brazilian artist Eduardo Kobra, will be removed in the coming weeks as construction crews repair cracks and leaks in the wall. When the repairs are completed, the new mural will be painted, with an expected completion by early fall.

The three finalists for the new mural, chosen from 12 submissions, are West Palm Beach-based artist team AnĂ³n, made up of husband and wife Jhonattan and Samantha Arango; West Palm Beach-based artist Craig McInnis; and Boca Raton-based artist Trinity Rivard."

I guess if I have to choose one, all far removed from MLK, I like Trinity Rivard, Telling A Story. Which one do you like?

I'm not a big fan of murals, but if I had to pick one, it would be the flower. The other two are totally stupid looking and I fail to see how that can be considered art.

We have a better looking mural in our Condo Lobby.

Just because you don't know how to do anything else, don't call yourself an artist!

The City's budget is $40,000. What a waste.

It's not only a waste, it seems to me that this is a fad, whose time has come and gone!

What do we need it for?

These people would paint a mural on the Taj Mahal!
