With Republican U.S. Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina announcing Sunday he won't seek reelection in 2026, (Trump was not supporting him) Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of President Donald Trump, is said to be strongly thinking about a run for that seat in Congress.

The report from NOTUS says Lara Trump, the former co-chair of the Republican National Committee during the 2024 presidential race and current Fox News host on Saturday night, is "seriously considering" the Senate run.

"The Victory Insights poll of North Carolina Republicans finds that 69% of them want the Republican National Committee Co-Chair to be their next senator, with just 11% preferring incumbent Thom Tillis," reported Florida Politics.

Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida but the worst damage from the storm was in the Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina. A record amount of rainfall created historic flooding in the region which left entire towns under water, and simply wiped out others.

Despite the devastation in his own state, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was able to quickly stabilize things after Helene hit. He then launched Operation Blue Ridge to send personnel from Florida state agencies to assist with search and rescue missions and disaster relief in Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee.

Guardsman Jonathan Howard of the unit was working on aerial rescues. He reported that everything coming out of the mainstream media about North Carolina was a lie.

“I had my team up here working as well. Here’s the problem,” Howard said. “I’m going to tell you everything that’s happening from the ground, what I’m actually seeing, because what they’re telling you is complete bulls**t on the news and these politicians don’t have a f**king clue and they’re lying.”

WBTV reported that Harris’s staff reported that about 250 people were in attendance.

The event began around 2:30 p.m. at Wake Tech Community College’s campus.WBTV reported that Harris addressed “a few hundred supporters” who attended the event at Wake Tech Community College. The outlet noted, “Harris’s staff reported that about 250 people were in attendance.”

On the other hand, WBTV reported that Trump’s rally on Wednesday drew multi-thousands of supporters.

A Secret Service agent’s decision to leave her post without permission to breastfeed her child just minutes before former President Donald Trump’s arrival at a North Carolina rally has raised serious concerns about the agency’s readiness.

The incident, which occurred on August 14 in Asheville, was reported by Susan Crabtree of RealClearPolitics, citing multiple sources within the Secret Service.

The agent was found in a secure room intended for emergency operations, feeding her child along with two family members who had bypassed security checkpoints.

The timing of the incident could not have been worse, as it occurred mere moments before Trump’s motorcade was set to arrive.

The site agent, who was responsible for overseeing security at the event, discovered the agent’s absence while performing a final sweep of the venue.
