James Fishback Drops the Euphemism and Picks Up the Statute Book

Tampa police helicopters circled Curtis Hixon Park while 22 teenagers trashed the waterfront and attacked each other in the street.

That was three weeks ago – and Republican gubernatorial candidate James Fishback just showed up in Tampa with a question the media couldn't answer. He asked them about January 6.

Fishback traveled to Tampa after the May 8 riot and said out loud what law enforcement was too nervous to say.

"It's quite fitting that members of the media, including some here today, had no issue calling the events of January 6th a violent insurrection when in fact no one was charged with insurrection," he told reporters at a press conference surrounded by microphones. "But they're reluctant to call young black teens armed with weapons, carrying illegal drugs, rioting at this place on Friday night something as simple as a 'teen takeover.'"

The reporters didn't have an answer.

Fishback then named the statute – Florida 870.01 – and announced that any participant in a so-called teen takeover would be charged under it as a third-degree felony the moment he takes office.

Under Florida law, rioting carries up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

He didn't stop there--He announced a social media youth disruption unit inside the Florida Department of Law Enforcement – tasked with monitoring incitement on TikTok and Instagram, shutting down coordination before a single teenager shows up, and triggering National Guard deployment when intelligence warrants it.

And he committed to a 90-day task force of law enforcement, business leaders, and church pastors to examine root causes and deliver a report directly to his desk.

Zohran Mamdani, the far-left socialist who recently won the Democratic nomination for New York City mayor, is under fire after a photo resurfaced showing him flipping off a statue of Christopher Columbus.

In the 2020 post, Mamdani — a self-proclaimed “democratic socialist” — proudly gave the middle finger to the statue in Astoria, Queens, writing:

“Take it down.”

The image, which shows a gloved hand in front of the Columbus statue, is still publicly visible on Mamdani’s X account.

In a follow-up post, Mamdani ran a poll asking who should replace Columbus if the statue were removed. Among the options:

They aren’t wasting any time. According to a report, a crane has already been moved into the cemetery for the removal and destruction of this Civil War Reconciliation Memorial.

Now, before we go any further, let’s take a moment to appreciate the irony here. This statue was dedicated by none other than President Calvin Coolidge back in 1924. It was the work of Jewish artist Moses Ezekiel and was built as a memorial to reconciliation after the American Civil War. Yep, you heard that right: reconciliation, not division. But apparently, that doesn’t matter to the history-erasing brigade.

And when was this demolition scheduled for? No later than January 1, 2024. Talk about starting the New Year with a bang. [patriotclash]

CV NEWS FEED // A retired military officer and former congressional candidate destroyed a “holiday Satanic display” at the Iowa State Capitol Thursday.

According to the Republic Sentinel, Michael Cassidy of Mississippi “turned himself into police officers present in the Iowa Capitol, who confirmed that the Satanic Temple of Iowa desires to press charges.”

The Sentinel clarified that “Cassidy was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief.” Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk wrote on X that his organization “stand[s] with Satan Slayer [Cassidy], and is “proud to pledge $10,000 to his legal defense fund.”

Cassidy, a Christian, said that he took action to tear down the display in order to “awaken Christians to the anti-Christian acts promoted by our government.”

“The world may tell Christians to submissively accept the legitimization of Satan, but none of the founders would have considered government sanction of Satanic altars inside Capitol buildings as protected by the First Amendment,” he told the Sentinel.

During the riots of 2020, many of America’s monuments and memorials were shamelessly vandalized and often destroyed.

Although the media pretended that this was a rejection of white supremacy, the truth is that monuments from all parts of American history were destroyed, regardless of their meaning and significance.

Now California Democrats are baffling history buffs by erasing the past with this latest move.

Of those toppled was a monument consecrated in 1965 in front of the California state capitol building, depicting Spanish priest Junipero Serra, who founded a number of missions up and down the Pacific coast.

Serra passed away in 1784, and many credit him for bringing Christianity to California, paving the way for the modernization of a state that has developed some of the world’s most lauded technological advances.

On Tuesday, California lawmakers unveiled a new 8-foot-tall bronze statue that stands in the place of Serra’s toppled statue, this time depicting William J. Franklin Sr., a leader within the Miwok tribe.
