Trump puts $152 million behind Alcatraz revival as Democrats reach for any excuse to block it

The White House's fiscal year 2027 budget, released Friday, includes a $152 million request to begin transforming Alcatraz Island back into an operational federal prison.

The budget proposal states the funding would cover "the first year of project costs" to rebuild Alcatraz as a "state-of-the-art secure prison facility."

The request sits inside a broader $1.7 billion push for the Bureau of Prisons, aimed at modernizing facilities and ending a chronic correctional officer shortage.

Alcatraz housed some of the most dangerous criminals in the country, including Al Capone, George "Machine Gun" Kelly, and James "Whitey" Bulger. Robert "Birdman of Alcatraz" Stroud was there too. These were not misunderstood men. These were the worst the country had to offer, warehoused on an island where the geography itself served as a wall, as New York Post reports.

This is not a new idea that appeared from nowhere. Trump floated the concept publicly in May 2025, the administration commissioned feasibility studies, and then-Attorney General Pam Bondi and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum physically visited the island in July to assess the site. Bondi called it a "terrific facility." The budget line is the formal, institutional follow-through. The vision now has a dollar amount attached.

Now the Democrats are saying this is nuts and that Trump has dementia. They love to name call.

Breed arrived in China on April 13 for an approximately week-long trip visiting several Chinese cities, which will wrap up on April 21, according to her office.

Breed visited the Beijing headquarters of the Chinese People’s Association For Friendship With Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) on Thursday and met with CPAFFC Party secretary and chairman Yang Wanming, according to the organization’s Chinese-language website and social media account, which the DCNF translated.

CPAFFC is a central cog in China’s influence operations; in October 2020, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo characterized CPAFFC as “a Beijing-based organization tasked with co-opting subnational governments, [which] has sought to directly and malignly influence state and local leaders to promote the PRC’s global agenda.”

It has once again made headlines with its latest initiative. A recent report has revealed the city’s plan to provide ‘guaranteed incomes’ to the transgender community.

Judicial Watch revealed 1,719 pages of documents from the City of San Francisco. These records indicate that the city allocates tax funds preferentially for black/Latino transgender individuals (biologically male) through a program that offers financial assistance to transgender people.

The documents also highlight that the “Guaranteed Income for Trans People” (GIFT) program is even open to illegal immigrants. The initiative aims to provide low-income transgender residents of San Francisco with a monthly stipend of $1,200 for up to 18 months.

The San Francisco Police Department has asked to repurpose its bomb defusing robots with guns and life ammunition, effectively creating killing machines meant to help safeguard the streets of that liberal city.

Next week the issue is set to be raised to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors Rules Committee, reports The Daily Mail, which “will define how the SFPD is allowed to use its military-style weapons.”

Should SFPD’s request be granted, a device known as a PAN disruptor that fires shotgun shells could be attached the bomb robots, which would allow them to fire shotgun shells at suspects without placing a human operator in danger.

What a mess in San Francisco, a city founded in 1776 and is now a sanctuary city. It used to be the most marvelous and beautiful city in America. I lived outside of San Francisco and I always said that California was way ahead of the rest of the country in just about everything. Not any more.

Homelessness was ranked the top problem with respondents, with public safety placing second and housing affordability taking third, the poll stated. Less than 25% of respondents believe the city will make changes to improve the conditions within two years.

San Francisco's far-left socialist district attorney Chesa Boudin promised a "new vision" and "radical change" to the Bay Area's criminal justice system. He was was supposed to usher in a utopian period of peace and safety by ending mass incarceration, the war on drugs, and the criminalization of poverty.

I lived outside of San Francisco at one time and it was the most beautiful city I had ever seen. There were a few harmless hippies back then but today it has turned into a cesspool.

Voters in the largely Democratic city will head to the polls on June 7 to determine whether or not Boudin should be recalled as top prosecutor.

The recall effort comes amid a backdrop of worsening crime and quality of life in the Bay Area, of which residents have taken notice, many holding Boudin to account. A groundswell of activists led by a group called San Franciscans for Public Safety sought action last year by gathering the over 50,000 signatures needed to put the recall on the ballot. Getting enough signatures for a petition is a humongous effort. Let's hope people in San Francisco take their city back on June 7. Nothing good happens under socialism.

Now she's suing the other board members for $87 million, claiming, among other things, she has suffered "spiritual injury to her soul."

What should be causing "injury to her soul" are all the homeless living on the streets and using them for bathrooms.
