Louisville Courier publishes a "Pre-Obituary" of Mitch McConnell

Joseph Gerth, Wise guy

Louisville Courier Journal publishes hostile 'pre-obituary' of Mitch McConnell while senator recovers in hospital

A Louisville Courier Journal columnist published a blistering column he called a "pre-obituary" of Sen. Mitch McConnell, writing it while the 84-year-old Kentucky Republican is still alive and reportedly recovering from a hospitalization that began more than five weeks ago.

Despicable Columnist Joseph Gerth did not wait for McConnell to die. He said he timed the piece deliberately, publishing it on July 22 so that, in his words, "no one can complain, 'How dare you write that about a dead guy?'"

The column, carried by McConnell's hometown paper, called the state's longest-serving senator a "detestable figure" and accused him of damaging the country's trust in government over a career spanning 42 years and six reelection victories.

The column landed while McConnell remains out of public view following a June 14 fall at his home that sent him to the hospital. His Senate office went nearly a month without issuing any public update on his condition, a silence that drew pointed questions from Kentucky's governor and fueled rumors about the senator's health.

On July 12, McConnell's office finally released a statement and a photo showing him sitting up in a hospital bed, holding a newspaper, with his wife Elaine Chao beside him.

Ten days later, the POS 💩💩 Gerth published his column.

McConnell releases Health update

Mitch McConnell releases health update, saying he’s not ready to return to work yet

They must have heard AOC's complaint

McConnell has missed the last 38 votes on the Senate floor since his June 14 hospitalization. He said he’s undergoing “intense physical therapy” but didn’t offer a timeline for his return.

“I’m still working hard to get back to my full schedule of work in the Senate and in Kentucky, keeping up with intense physical therapy per my doctors’ orders,” McConnell, R-Ky., said in a statement. “Unfortunately, that means I won’t be able to make it to Fancy Farm, Kentucky this Saturday.” 01:06

Thune says he defers to McConnell and team on health updates

McConnell, who said he’s in rehabilitation care after a fall at his home last month, added that there’s “no place I’d rather be” than the annual picnic in Kentucky this weekend and “I hate that I’ll miss the fun this year.” He said he’s “looking forward to getting back to the Senate and to Kentucky soon.”

AOC : McConnell needs to give an update on his health

Ocasio-Cortez demands McConnell resign if he cannot provide a clear health update

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is calling on Sen. Mitch McConnell to step down if he cannot explain his weeks-long absence from the Senate, a demand that adds Democratic pressure to an already strained Republican majority.

The New York Democrat told reporters Wednesday that McConnell's existing explanation for his extended absence falls short of what the public deserves.

McConnell, 84, has been away from the Senate since a June 14 fall that left him briefly unconscious and led to a hospitalization and subsequent pneumonia diagnosis. His office released a statement on July 12 confirming he had moved from hospital care to a rehabilitation facility, but the senator acknowledged he would not return to the Senate floor to vote "quite yet."

The Washington Examiner reported that the limited information released has fueled speculation and conspiracy theories about the Kentucky Republican's condition.

Ocasio-Cortez did not hold back. Speaking to reporters, she framed the issue as one of basic accountability to voters and colleagues alike.
"If he can't give us an update, he should resign. Absolutely."

Mitch McConnell's Recovery Continues

McConnell Says He Won’t Return to Senate Votes ‘Quite Yet’ as Recovery Continues

Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said Sunday that he will not return to the Senate floor for votes just yet as lawmakers prepare to return to Washington following recess, but emphasized that he remains actively engaged in Senate business while continuing his recovery.

In a statement shared with The Hill, McConnell acknowledged that his recovery has taken longer than he would like but said he is following the advice of his medical team.

“As much as it frustrates me, this process takes time. And on the advice of my doctors, I won’t be able to return to the Senate floor to vote quite yet. But rest assured that, in the meantime, I’m not taking a break from the Senate business that matters to you,” McConnell said.

The longtime Kentucky senator added that he has remained involved in legislative work despite his extended absence from Capitol Hill.

Trump endorsed candidate in KY wins Primary

Andy Barr wins Kentucky GOP Senate primary

This sets up the November fight for McConnell's seat

Rep. Andy Barr fought his way through an 11-candidate Republican primary in Kentucky to claim the party's nomination for U.S. Senate, a victory that positions the seven-term congressman to replace the longest-serving Republican leader in Senate history.

The seat belongs to retiring Sen. Mitch McConnell. Come November, Barr will face a Democratic opponent for the right to fill it. And the man who helped clear his path through a bruising primary was President Donald Trump, whose late endorsement earlier this month reshaped a race that had no clear frontrunner.

The Kentucky Republican Senate primary drew one of the largest fields of any GOP contest in the country. Barr emerged from the pack, beating former Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron and nine other candidates.

The win hands Trump an ally in a chamber where his legislative agenda, including the stalled SAVE America Act, has run into resistance from members of his own party.

Voter ID makes sense

But anything that makes sense is difficult to pass these days.

McConnell Blocks SAVE Act — What Happened?

What happened on the Senate floor--

Senator Mitch McConnell declined to bring the SAVE Act up for a Senate vote. The bill would have required voters to show an ID when voting, a change supported by large majorities of Americans. Conservative lawmakers and many grassroots activists are angry because the measure never got a fair vote.

Critics say McConnell and his team quietly kept the bill off the calendar instead of letting senators cast their ballots and let the public see where everyone stood.

Republican voters and several House members quickly criticized McConnell for blocking the bill. They say the move protects the old guard and big donors rather than voters.

Rep. Tim Burchett and other conservatives pushed back hard, saying voters deserve election reforms that build confidence in the system. These reactions came fast and loud on social media and at town halls, where activists demanded accountability.

McConnell sides with Zelensky’s in dispute with Trump

Mitch McConnell stabbed Trump in the back by siding with this foreign country

Mitch McConnell sided with Ukraine’s President Zelensky, opposing Trump’s peace efforts between Ukraine and Russia, and endorsing a blank check for ongoing military aid.

McConnell falsely claimed Trump’s suspension of aid was aiding Russia, (and then all the weak kneed America Last Democrats jumped on that one) misrepresenting Europe’s financial contributions and criticizing Trump’s diplomacy tactics.

Despite McConnell’s criticism, Trump’s approach led to Ukraine agreeing to a ceasefire proposal and resuming intelligence sharing, bringing the U.S. closer to ending the war.

Mitch doubling down on Failure

Mitch McConnell vowed to go out with a bang as he issues this final threat to Donald Trump

Donald Trump couldn’t help but laugh when the RINO Kentucky Senator issued this entirely predictable threat on his way out the door.

Joe Biden entered retirement.

There are still plenty in the Washington, D.C. political class evidently suffering from cognitive and physical decline, however.

But now Mitch McConnell has vowed to go out with a bang as he issues this final threat to Donald Trump. For over 40 years now, 83-year-old Senator Mitch McConnell (RINO-KY) has lived off American taxpayers while actively working against the interests of the working class.

In that time, he’s become the epitome of a “Republican In Name Only (RINO),” constantly making all sorts of promises throughout his seven Senate campaigns while actively doing the exact opposite once he secured re-election.

Just over the past few years, he worked hand-in-hand with former President Joe Biden and Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to keep America’s borders wide open, fund Democrats’ inflation-inducing socialist spending spree, violate Americans’ Constitutional rights, and keep the military industrial complex and foreign policy establishment fat and happy while our own nation crumbled around us.

Mitch McConnell wants to cave on government funding

Donald Trump gave Mitch McConnell this huge election ultimatum

RINO Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is the leader of the surrender caucus. That puts him in conflict with Donald Trump.

And Donald Trump gave Mitch McConnell this huge election ultimatum. Government funding runs out on October 1.

McConnell’s already trying to throw in the towel and agree to fully fund Kamala Harris’ agenda without putting up a fight. Donald Trump has other ideas.

In a message posted to Truth Social, Trump declared that Republicans should reject any spending bill unless the SAVE Act is attached.

The SAVE Act makes it illegal for non-citizens to register to vote and would close loopholes that allow illegal aliens to get on the voter rolls.

Mitch McConnell warns of Triple Threat if Kamala wins

Mitch McConnell just stunned reporters

Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell has a long history of stabbing conservatives in the back while cutting deals with the Democrats.

But he’s finally stepping down from his position as Senate Republican leader in November.

McConnell recently delivered the keynote address to lawmakers at the National Conference of State Legislatures Legislative Summit in Louisville, Kentucky.

Instead, he warned Americans of the triple threat facing the country if Kamala Harris wins the White House in November.
  • “The first thing they’ll do is get rid of the [Senate] filibuster."
  • “You’ll have two new states – D.C., Puerto Rico – that’s four new Democratic senators in perpetuity.”
  • If Democrats pack the court, it will be the end of freedom in America as we know it
Even though he has been an enemy to conservatives, there’s no denying the fact that McConnell is as politically sharp and savvy as they get.

And when he is warning about the triple threat from the Democrats, you know this truly is the most important election of our lifetime.

Mitch Defends Trump

Mitch McConnell Defends Trump Following Conviction

On Thursday, May 30, breaking his silence about the Presidential race and the tensions between himself and former President Donald Trump, Senate Republican Leader Mitch Connell (Kentucky) came to Trump’s defense.

Hours after the 12-person jury reached a guilty verdict against the former President in the business records case, McConnell claimed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg should not have pursued the case, predicting that Trump’s conviction would ultimately be overturned on appeal.

Taking to X, McConnell wrote that the charges shouldn’t have been brought against Trump “in the first place,” adding that at appeal the conviction would not stand.

Biden making a horrendous mistake not supporting Israel

McConnell Warns Biden: Refusing Israeli Aid Will Prove 'Grave'

The "consequences will be grave" if President Joe Biden can't find the "political courage to stand up to radicals on his left flank" and support Israel, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell warned in a speech on the Senate floor Thursday.

"Other allies who rely on 'ironclad' guarantees from America will question our commitment," the Kentucky Republican said while speaking out against Biden's warnings that U.S. weapons will not be used in an Israeli attack on Rafah out of concerns for civilian casualties.

McConnell said that Biden's refusal to back an ally at war will backfire.

RFK,Jr says Rand Paul would make a good Senate Minority Speaker

RFK Jr. Endorses Rand Paul to Replace Mitch McConnell as Senate GOP Leader

Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. publicly supported Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) as a replacement for Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) as Senate minority leader following McConnell’s decision to step down in November.

“Part of public service is about knowing when to usher in a new generation. It’s time to promote leaders in Washington, DC who won’t kowtow to the military contractors or push us deeper into foreign conflicts.” Kennedy noted.

“We need representation who will prioritize American wellness over all else. I believe @RandPaul would be an incredible successor. He’s shown great judgment and has the grit to put hardworking Americans first.” he continued.

We have an Emergency; We have an Invasion

Rand Paul reams McConnell over ‘criminal neglect’ of border: ‘We have an emergency, we have an invasion’

Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) took aim at fellow Kentuckian, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell for his prioritizing of funding for Ukraine’s war against Russia over more pressing matters at home, specifically the porous southern border.

After the so-called “border security” bill was met with fierce opposition by conservative Republicans, the sneaky octogenarian delivered the votes of 17 members of his caucus to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) to advance a $95 million foreign aid package for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan with the border provisions stripped out. It’s what some called out as a typical backstabbing move by McConnell and Paul isn’t happy about the betrayal.

“It’s criminal neglect for Mitch McConnell, Chuck Schumer, and Joe Biden to get together to send $100 billion overseas to fix someone else’s border before addressing our border,” Paul told host Larry Kudlow, not pulling any punches.

“His approval ratings in Kentucky are almost below zero. They are the lowest of any elected official in the United States. He is working with Biden and Schumer to funnel your money to Ukraine, but he’s not working with conservatives, so he is in the minority of his caucus,” Paul told Fox News host Laura Ingraham.

Just enforce the laws on the books, Joe!

Washington, D.C. continues to appear more and more like a taxpayer-funded nursing home

McConnell’s unwillingness to fight for conservatives has caused a great amount of disappointment.

With the border crisis sitting at the center of focus, Mitch McConnell just made a massive announcement, showing he plans to betray America and surrender this issue to the Biden regime.

It is no secret that Democrats wish to ignore the illegal immigration debate, because they do not want Trump to obtain even the slightest optic of victory.

The language of this deal (370 pages) includes policies such as allowing for at least 1.8 million illegal aliens to enter the U.S. each year or 5,000 a day.

Once in the country, McConnell’s deal would then deliver work permits as soon as President Biden agreed to ship the illegal migrants to cities and states across America.

Also included in this bill, amnesty would be provided to millions of immigrants related to those working in the United States on HB-1 visas.

There is no other country on Earth that has open borders.

Reject McConnell’s scheme to codify Biden’s open borders agenda

Donald Trump hit Mitch McConnell with a nasty curveball that will leave the “Swamp” in ruins

Mitch McConnell isn’t just serving the D.C. establishment.

He is actively trying to get Joe Biden re-elected.

But now Donald Trump hit Mitch McConnell with a nasty curveball that will leave the “Swamp” in ruins.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) colluding with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and President Joe Biden on an immigration betrayal that will allow nearly two million illegal aliens to enter the country every year and give work visas to everyone that Biden sets loose in America.

In return, Democrats agreed to voluntary border measures that Biden will never enforce.

McConnell the RINO and Kanye the ?

One faction is against Making America Great Again!

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell condemned former President Trump for his dinner with Kanye West and white nationalist Nick Fuentes

saying anyone meeting with individuals with views of antisemitism or white supremacy is "highly unlikely to ever be elected president of the United States."

"There is no room in the Republican Party for antisemitism or white supremacy," McConnell, R-Ky., said Tuesday. "And anyone meeting with people advocating that point of view, in my judgment, are highly unlikely to ever be elected president of the United States."

McConnell was referring to Trump’s dinner last week with Ye, formerly known as Kanye West (who is crazy enough to want to run for President 2024), and Nick Fuentes at Mar-a-Lago. Donald Trump thought Kanye was coming alone. He did not know Nick Fuentes and had no idea who he was. It has now been revealed that Fuentes will assist Ye in his campaign for President.

On the one hand we have the old guard of men and women like Mitch McConnell who are bought and paid for by the same elite that run the Democrat Party.

These ‘RINOS’ will say anything and do anything to get elected knowing full well that they will behave like the shills they are once in office.

On the other hand we have men like Trump who, admittedly is far from perfect, but is someone who is going to do what he believes to be in the country’s best interests when faced with tough decisions. MAGA

The two factions of the party are currently at war with one another. Either we vote out and banish hacks like McConnell for good or we risk losing this country to the same ideology that is ruling the CCP right now.
