Trump Admin Takes Significant Step To Increase Deportations

The Trump administration is moving to further accelerate its deportation agenda by significantly expanding the nation’s immigration court system, according to a report from The Daily Wire.

In its latest effort, the Department of Justice announced Thursday that it has hired 82 immigration judges — the largest single-year class in agency history. The additions bring the total number of immigration judges in the United States to nearly 700.

“The Trump administration is committed to reestablishing an immigration judge corps that is dedicated to restoring the rule [of] law in our nation’s immigration system,” Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a statement.

“Today, we are onboarding the largest immigration judge class in agency history,” Blanche added. “This could only happen thanks to President Trump’s decisive leadership and commitment to securing our borders. I also applaud EOIR’s leadership team for helping facilitate these hiring efforts and recruiting highly qualified and talented personnel in record time.”

The incoming class consists of 77 permanent judges and five temporary appointments.

Boston federal judge blocks Trump administration's push to collect race-based college admissions data

A federal judge in Boston granted a preliminary injunction Friday temporarily barring the Trump administration from forcing public colleges in 17 Democrat-led states to submit detailed admissions data broken down by race and sex, a move the administration says is necessary to enforce the Supreme Court's 2023 ban on affirmative action, as Fox News Digital reported.

U.S. District Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV sided with a coalition of 17 Democratic state attorneys general who sued to stop the reporting requirements. He called the administration's rollout "rushed and chaotic" and said it "epitomizes arbitrary and capricious agency action."

The ruling is the latest in a growing string of federal court orders halting Trump administration initiatives at the request of Democratic officials, a pattern that raises serious questions about whether the judiciary is being weaponized as a policy veto by state attorneys general who lost at the ballot box.

Presidential advisor Stephen Miller didn’t mince words. “An unelected judge has just ruled that elections, laws and borders don’t exist,” he declared. Blunt. Also accurate.

This fits a pattern Miller has documented for months. He has repeatedly called out what he terms “judicial tyranny” from Democratic-appointed judges who manufacture weak legal arguments to obstruct immigration enforcement. “We are living under judicial tyranny,” he warned last August. “The judicial coup continues,” he said in June 2025. The man has been sounding the alarm. Few listened.

The strategy here is transparent. Every injunction drains White House resources and burns daylight on the President’s term. Even when appellate courts overturn these rulings—and they likely will—the delay itself counts as a win for open-border advocates.

A Uruguayan-born judge appointed by President Joe Biden has invented a novel excuse to block President Donald Trump from terminating Biden’s award of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) to 350,000 illegal-migrant Haitians.

The text of the TPS quasi-amnesty law bars judges’ intervention in TPS decisions by saying “There is no judicial review of any [TPS] determination.”

But Judge Ana Reyes, an immigrant and a Harvard graduate, claims that she is still allowed to review the process of the TPS determination.

Trump Fires 8 NYC Immigration Judges

The Trump administration appeared to be unmoved by a discrimination suit filed Monday by an Ohio judge when later that day it let go eight immigration judges in Manhattan.

The judges who worked out of 26 Federal Plaza in lower Manhattan were terminated, according to an official in the National Association of Immigration Judges.

Earlier Monday, Tania Nemer sued the Justice Department on the grounds she was terminated from her post as an Ohio immigration judge because of her gender, a citizen of Lebanon and was a Democratic candidate for local office.

About 200 immigration judges have resigned or been let go as part of the Department of Government Efficiency’s effort to trim inefficiencies and spending by encouraging federal employees to leave their jobs. Roughly 100 of those were fired, the NAIJ official said.

The judges were terminated despite a backlog of 3.4 million immigration cases in the federal system, according to Syracuse University’s TRAC Reports.

The War Department said in September it planned to send 600 military lawyers to serve temporarily as immigration judges — but so far only 25 have gone through the required training and have begun hearing cases, the NAIJ official said.

Just 11 new permanent judges have been installed, despite Congress creating 800 federal immigration judiciary jobs as part of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

District Judge Rosenberg left the bench

A longtime judge is stepping down from South Florida's district bench

This gives President Donald Trump another opportunity to shape one of the nation's busiest federal courts.

U.S. District Judge Robin Rosenberg, appointed by Barack Obama in 2014, stepped down in August to become director of the Federal Judicial Center in Washington, D.C.

Her departure comes one month before the President George W. Bush-appointed Judge Kenneth Marra retires, leaving only Judge Donald Middlebrooks, appointed by President Bill Clinton, at the Paul G. Rogers Federal Building in downtown West Palm Beach.

Already, the two-term GOP president has named five of the 17 active judges in the district. After the Senate confirms whoever Trump picks to replace Rosenberg, Trump will have named 35% of the active judges, not including the 12 who are on senior status.

When Rosenberg is replaced, the partisan makeup of the court will flip. Nine of the judges will have been appointed by Republicans and eight by Democrats.

In a 7-2 decision, the Supreme Court blocked in July a district court judge's attempt to circumvent an order allowing the Trump administration to resume third-country deportations. Even Justice Elena Kagan, who dissented from the original decision, sided with the conservative justices to enforce the order.

"I do not see how a district court can compel compliance with an order that this Court has stayed," she wrote.

Judge Blocks South Sudan Deportations Despite SCOTUS Ruling

A federal judge in Washington, D.C., temporarily blocked the Trump administration on Friday from deporting eight foreign nationals to South Sudan, just days after the Supreme Court sided with the administration in a related deportation case.

U.S. District Judge Randolph Moss issued an administrative stay on the morning of July 4, barring the Department of Homeland Security from “moving, transferring, or removing” the eight men while the court considers a new constitutional challenge to their removal.

This marks the third time the removal efforts have been delayed by lower court intervention after the Supreme Court has twice said the removals can take place.

The case comes just over a week after the Supreme Court lifted an injunction issued by Massachusetts-based U.S. District Judge Brian Murphy, an appointee of former President Joe Biden who previously blocked the administration from conducting swift deportations to South Sudan.

Murphy subsequently issued an order saying his halt on deportations for the eight migrants still stands even after the high court lifted his broader decision.

Then, on Thursday, the Supreme Court issued a clarifying order that once again told Murphy that the administration could begin its plans to send the criminal migrants to South Sudan.

U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts delivered a stern warning Sunday to politicians who engage in inflammatory rhetoric against judges, emphasizing the dangerous consequences of such language.

Speaking at the Judicial Conference of the Fourth Circuit in Charlotte, North Carolina, Roberts expressed concern over the growing hostility toward the judiciary, which has led to violent threats against judges simply for doing their jobs.

“I’ve been compelled over the past few years to make statements about people on one side of the aisle – their views on judges – and on the other side,” Roberts said. “It becomes wrapped up in the political dispute that a judge who’s doing his or her job is part of the problem.”

Roberts did not single out any specific individuals, but his remarks come amid a surge in threats against judges, particularly those involved in high-profile cases. “And the danger, of course, is somebody might pick up on that. And we have had, of course, serious threats of violence and murder of judges just simply for doing their work,” he continued. “So, I think the political people on both sides of the aisle need to keep that in mind.”

While Roberts avoided naming names, the liberal media has been quick to weaponize his words against conservatives, particularly President Donald Trump, who has been vocal in criticizing judicial decisions he disagrees with. While Trump’s language is strong, it pales in comparison to the left’s outright calls for violence.

President Trump’s administration is taking bold steps to deliver on a promise many Americans have longed to see: shrinking the overgrown federal workforce.

The plan involves what’s known as “Reductions in Force,” or RIFs – a straightforward way to make government leaner and more focused on serving the people, not itself. But, as you might expect, not everyone is thrilled with the idea of less bureaucracy.

Almost immediately, the usual suspects tried to throw a wrench in the works. A group made up of unions, various non-profit groups, and even some local governments sued to stop the President.

A federal judge in San Francisco, Susan Illston,  recommended by of Senators Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein, Illston was nominated by President Bill Clinton on January 23, 1995 sided with them, claiming the President needed special permission from Congress to make these kinds of personnel changes.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, often a roadblock for common-sense conservative policies, agreed, calling the President’s actions “unprecedented.”

It seems some people prefer the swamp just the way it is – murky and expensive.

Senator Josh Hawley is pushing a bill to curb the abuse of nationwide injunctions by activist District Court Judges, aiming to prevent them from blocking President Trump’s agenda across the entire country.

The No Rogue Rulings Act, introduced by Representative Darrell Issa, seeks to limit the reach of lower court rulings and restore balance between the branches of government.

Legal scholars and experts argue that Congress has the power to rein in District Courts and restrict nationwide injunctions, providing a more effective solution than pursuing impeachment.

“It’s never been more obvious that parts of our federal judiciary have a major malfunction of judicial activism,” Issa said. “Practically every week, we see yet another federal judge issuing yet another nationwide injunction in yet another gambit to stop President Trump from exercising his Constitutional Article II powers and carrying out the policy agenda he promised the American people he would make a reality.”

The bill passed out of the House Judiciary Committee on a 14-9 vote.

The liberal media’s bias is evident

By focusing on the rulings of Obama-appointed judges like Chuang, the media seeks to delegitimize the administration’s efforts to streamline government operations and reduce bureaucratic inefficiencies.

Chaung's decision to bar DOGE from any further actions related to USAID’s closure and his injunction against Jeremy Lewin, a DOGE official, from taking a leadership position at USAID, has been seen as an attempt to undermine the executive branch’s authority.

What did Trump do? On the same day as Chuang’s ruling, a senior DOGE official, Pete Marocco, a Trump appointee in the State Department, took over USAID and will now have authority over the agency.

The administration’s ability to navigate around Chuang’s ruling by appointing a senior DOGE official to oversee USAID demonstrates its commitment to upholding the rule of law while resisting judicial overreach. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has suggested that Congress could strip federal courts of jurisdiction as some judges have sought to interfere with President Trump’s agenda.

“Congress has the authority to strip jurisdiction of the federal courts to decide these cases in the first place.

The sabotaging of President Trump’s agenda by ‘resistance’ judges was predictable — why no jurisdiction-stripping bills tee’d up at the onset of this Congress?” DeSantis wrote in a Wednesday post on X.

When someone responded by asking how such a move could pass when 60 votes would be needed to push it through the Senate, DeSantis replied, “Attach it to a ‘must pass’ bill…”

Rep. Brandon Gill, R-Texas, told Fox News Digital, “For the past several weeks, we’ve seen several rogue activist judges try to impede the president from exercising, not only the mandate voters gave him, but his democratic and constitutional authority to keep the American people safe.”
