Luggage-swiper Sam Brinton avoids jail time in first two cases against him

Former Biden administration nuclear waste official Sam Brinton, who resigned in disgrace after being arrested twice for stealing high-end luggage from airports, has managed to avoid jail time on both arrests.

Brinton was arrested in October 2022 for stealing more than $2,000 in luggage from a luggage carousel at the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport after flying there for a conference from Dulles Airport in Washington, D.C.

He was allowed to enter a diversion program on those charges by agreeing to a mental health evaluation, writing an apology letter to the victim, return the stolen luggage, and do three days of community service.

If he completes the program, the charges will be stricken from his record. Nice.

But, but, but, he was Arrested again

This time he was charged with grand larceny.

Transgender Ex-Biden Official Sam Brinton Arrested

The transgender and ‘nonbinary’ ex-senior Department of Energy (DOE) employee Sam Brinton was reportedly taken into custody by Maryland police late on Wednesday night after being declared a “fugitive from justice.”

Brinton was detained in Rockville, Maryland, according to county records.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police, the primary law enforcement organization for both airports serving the Washington, D.C., region, led the arrest, according to a police spokeswoman on Thursday.

A witness who claimed to be Brinton’s neighbor reported that around an hour after four unmarked police officers arrived, Brinton was taken into custody.

Samuel Brinton, the non-binary ex-nuclear waste management expert who worked for the Biden administration until it came out that he stole a female passenger’s luggage at the airport, was sentenced to zero time in jail and a minor fine for his crime.

Brinton, a biological male who shaves his head and wears lipstick, thus becoming non-binary, was responsible for helping to manage the country’s nuclear waste before being fired earlier this year as criminal cases proceeded.

It all began when he was accused of stealing a $2,325 Vera Bradley bag and its contents from a female airline passenger at the airport in Minneapolis-St. Paul, and it was later claimed that Brinton wore the clothes.

And then there were other thefts--

Brinton pleaded no contest, a pleading that does not assert guilt or innocence, and was given a 180-day suspended sentence that will see him spend zero time behind bars. He is also ordered to pay the victim $3,670 in restitution.
