Obamatrade - Corruption

Obamatrade enmeshed in corrupt backroom dealings

"Enough is enough. I cannot vote for TPA unless McConnell and Boehner both commit publicly to allow the Ex-Im Bank to expire—and stay expired. And, Congress must also pass the Cruz-Sessions amendments to TPA to ensure that no trade agreement can try to back-door changes to our immigration laws. Otherwise, I will have no choice but to vote no."

Obama's TPA selling out America?

"Sean Hannity tore apart GOP leadership for continuing their push to give President Barack Obama Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) as the House looks to set up a vote as early as this week on the legislation.

Hannity said House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell are selling out American sovereignty, adding that the secrecy of the bill shows those two and the Obama administration don’t “care what we think.”

By just 10 votes (218-208), the house passed a six-year renewal of trade promotion authority. There will be hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of American jobs lost with TAA, included in this bill.

Quote of the Day - Mike Huckabee

Comment Up
“I’m not a globalist, I’m an American. As president, I will do everything in my power to protect the American worker first.  For far too long, the American workers have been getting punched in the gut because of unbalanced trade deals that forgo congressional scrutiny, ignore the law, and drive wages lower than the Dead Sea.”

~ Mike Huckabee

As told to WND where it was reported Friday that U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., called on Obama to let the public see the closely guarded contents of the deal, which the senator called the creation of a “nascent European Union.”

ObamaTrade passed by Senate Republicans

Comment Up

"Matt Drudge, conservative, unleashed on the Republican Party Friday after the GOP Congress gave Barack Obama sweeping new powers when the Republican Senate passed Obamatrade Friday without reading the bill".

Why this bill is a big deal. It would allow the power to submit trade deals to Congress for an up-or-down vote with limited debate and no amendments. Congress can't change it.

In a rather bizarre situation, the president’s ability to finalize a trade deal was  pushed through by Senate Republicans. Last night 48 Republicans joined with 14 Democrats to successfully approve the measure.  The vote was 62-38.
