"In November, six Democrat Congress members who are military veterans released a video urging active-duty troops to refuse to obey “illegal orders” – although when pressed, they couldn’t specify any orders President Trump has given that are illegal.

Trump called it traitorous, and other critics said they were trying to encourage troops to refuse to obey orders for political reasons.

One of them is now learning that there are consequences for such actions. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said that Sen. Mark Kelly is facing a “retirement grade determination” for his “seditious statements” and “pattern of reckless misconduct.”

If approved, Kelly could see both his rank and retirement pay reduced. The reason he’s the only one facing this is that the others left the service completely while he retired with a military pension, meaning he’s still subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice, which bars things such as calling lawful orders illegal and counseling troops to disobey orders.

Hegseth said that being a Senator does not exempt Kelly from accountability. We have to assume that he’s been in Congress so long that he simply forgot he once had a job where he was held accountable."

President Donald Trump unveiled his 20-point plan for a ceasefire-and-hostage deal in Gaza on Sep. 29. Arab and Muslim nations embraced the plan, as did Israel, and Hamas provisionally agreed to it late last week.

Huckabee closed by pledging that Israel and the Jewish people “will never stand alone” in the face of terror.

CBS Edits Huckabee Israel Interview — The Truth They Cut Out

On August 7, 2025, CBS News aired a four-minute interview between correspondent Debora Patta and U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee. What viewers saw was a diplomat appearing defensive and dismissive on Gaza’s humanitarian crisis.

What they didn’t see were entire sections of the conversation that dismantled Hamas propaganda, exposed massive aid theft, and debunked false reports. Those parts were cut, and the edits all tilted in the same direction—away from Israel’s defense and toward Hamas’s narrative.

During the interview, Huckabee explained that Hamas made half a billion dollars in 2024 by stealing humanitarian food shipments, selling them on the black market, and inflating prices to starving civilians.

He relayed reports from aid recipients who, for the first time, didn’t have to pay Hamas for food. This section never made it to air, eliminating one of the most damaging accusations against Hamas’s leadership.

CBS also cut Huckabee’s account of a false report claiming 27 people were killed at a Gaza Humanitarian Foundation site. He said video footage showed no one was injured, yet major outlets like The New York Times, The Washington Post, BBC, and CNN all ran the story before quietly issuing small corrections.

Without this example, CBS left viewers thinking his skepticism about casualty numbers was unfounded.

Words matter, says Mike Huckabee. And while French President Emmanuel Macron offered no substance, no operational plan to his call for a Palestinian state, his words did have an effect – a negative one.

"It was outrageous for Macron to do this, and it came at a horrible time. It basically rewards Hamas and is one of the reasons that they became unreasonable in any talks to end the war in Gaza," Huckabee, the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, said in an interview with Family Research Council President Tony Perkins.

Macron said that he will revisit this topic in an official statement at the United Nations General Assembly in September.

In the post, he attached a letter he previously wrote to Mahmoud Abbas, president of the Palestinian Authority, expressing the same sentiment. In the letter, the costs to civilians on both sides began with terrorist attacks by Hamas on Oct. 7, 2023.

Huckabee said, if one nation can just declare another place on the earth to be a state, then I think it would be fitting for the U.K. to declare France a British colony."

Will Mike Huckabee be our Ambassador to Israel?

Mike Huckabee is a man for whom I truly respect on all levels.  It is now suggested that he will be our Ambassador to Israel. I hadn't even considered that position but I believe it would be one that is well suited for him, for us and for Israel.

Wikipedia: Huckabee calls Israel an "ally," "America's greatest friend in the region," and says Israel should have access to advanced weapons and technology. He is a Christian Zionist politician, and has written that, "the Jews have a God-given right to reclaim land given to their ancestors and taken away from them."

Huckabee stated that he supports creating a Palestinian state, but believes that it should be formed outside of Israel. He named Egypt and Saudi Arabia as possible alternatives, noting that the Arabs have far more land than the Israelis and that it would only be fair for other Arab nations to give the Palestinians land for a state, rather than carving it out of the tiny Israeli state.
