Back to School Bash

BACK TO SCHOOL BASH HELPS HUNDREDS OF CHILDREN IN LAKE WORTH BEACH

"The City of Lake Worth Beach helped students kick off the new school year with confidence during its annual Back to School Bash held at the Wimbley Gym, providing more than 600 children with backpacks filled with essential school supplies.

The event brought together families, community partners, City officials and volunteers for a day focused on preparing local students for a successful school year. Thanks to the overwhelming support of sponsors and community organizations, hundreds of children left the event with the tools they need to start the school year ready to learn.

The City extends its sincere appreciation to the generous sponsors whose support made this event possible: Healthier Lake Worth Beach, Palm Beach County Police Athletic League, Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO), Affiliated Development, Rotary of Lake Worth, For the Children Inc., Dave's Last Resort, Arms of Hope Community Inc., Trader Joe's, Allen Team Illustrated Properties, Shiloh Community Church, and Benny's on the Beach.

In addition to receiving school supplies, families had the opportunity to connect with local organizations and enjoy a fun, welcoming atmosphere as they prepared for the first day of school.

The City of Lake Worth Beach is proud to partner with businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations that are committed to supporting local students and ensuring every child has the opportunity to begin the school year with the supplies they need to succeed.

The City thanks everyone who attended, volunteered, and contributed to making this year's Back to School Bash another outstanding success. Together, we are helping Lake Worth Beach students start the school year off right."

War on Fraud in America's School Systems

Report exposes $225 million in K-12 fraud across 24 states as taxpayer dollars fund luxury cars, Disney trips

A joint investigation by two government watchdog groups has uncovered roughly $225 million in alleged fraud across America's K-12 school systems, spanning nearly 90 cases in 24 states and Puerto Rico over six years.

The schemes range from old-fashioned embezzlement to fake invoices, inflated enrollment numbers, bid-rigging, and kickbacks, all siphoning money that was supposed to reach classrooms.

The report, co-authored by the State Financial Officers Foundation and Open the Books, landed as the Trump administration ramps up its broader "War on Fraud" initiative led by Vice President JD Vance.

The findings paint a picture of systemic vulnerability in how school districts handle public money, and they raise hard questions about whether existing oversight mechanisms are doing much of anything at all.

Bible Studies to be taught in Texas public schools

New lessons, including Islam's violence, pending for public schools

Also select stories from the Bible to be included in lessons

New lesson standards, including those about Islam's violence, are pending for public school students in Texas.

Not all of the plans have been made final yet, but the state, in fact, is poised to require lessons on the basic beliefs of the Bible in public schools as well as lessons drawing connections "to Islam and violence," according to a report at the Post Millennial.

The changes are coming from the Texas Board of Education.

The report revealed, "The social studies proposal would mandate schools to teach Bible lessons and other literary works to students as young as six years old until they graduate from high school. This includes the Parable of the Prodigal Son, the eight Beatitudes, and the Christian story of Adam and Eve."

Further, "the board gave preliminary approval on Wednesday for middle and high school students to be taught lesson plans that draw connections between Islam and violence. Dallas Morning News reported that one approved provision would ask students to examine Islam through the Prophet Mohammed's brutal military campaigns," the report said.

Mamdani--ideology over competence, slogans over solutions.

NYC Mayor Mamdani Vetoes Bipartisan Bill to Enhance Security Against Antisemitism at Schools

New York City has survived a lot — but it may have finally met its match in its own mayor.

In just a few months, Zohran Mamdani has managed to let New Yorkers freeze to death in their own apartments, announce a $30 million government-run grocery store that won’t open for years, and publicly doxx residents for the crime of owning expensive real estate.

You’d think the man had already scraped the bottom of the barrel. But on Friday, New York City’s socialist-in-chief found a way to dig even deeper.

Of all the powers available to a mayor, the veto is the most personal. It’s a statement of priority — a declaration of what you simply cannot abide becoming law.

So what did Zohran Mamdani spend his very first veto on? Killing a bipartisan measure designed to protect students from antisemitic harassment outside their schools.

California positioned itself between parent and child and lost in Supreme Court

Supreme Court Blocks California Law That Hid Children's Gender Changes From Parents

The Supreme Court halted a California law that barred school districts from requiring staff to notify parents when their child changes gender identification at school.

The unsigned order also blocks a state rule that compelled teachers to use a student's preferred pronouns, reinstating a lower-court injunction while the case continues.

The majority found that the religious parents who brought the challenge hold "sincere religious beliefs about sex and gender" and "feel a religious obligation to raise their children in accordance with those beliefs." California's policies, the Court ruled, burden the free exercise of religion.

Governor Gavin Newsom signed the law in July 2024. Two sets of Catholic parents, represented by the Thomas More Society, fought it. The parents won.

School kids ditch Class for Commie Protest on President's Day

Principal stuns students who walked out for anti-ICE protest

'If you stay out here, we will get your names, you will be suspended, OK? That is your option at this point'

A principal at Wilson High School in Spring Township, Pennsylvania, ordered students who walked out of class to protest Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to return to class.

"We go back to class and we're good. If you stay out here, we will get your names, you will be suspended, OK? That is your option at this point because you are operating outside the bounds of what was granted," Weber told the students.

"That event was canceled. You left school without permission. Your rights do not supersede the school. So if you understand that, that is your option."

Students ditch class for a commie protest on President's Day and the principal drops the hammer: “Back to class or suspended.”

That’s exactly how any normal school handles little Red Guard rioters.

If your district lets them run wild, (Palm Beach County did) you’re in enemy territory--pull your kids out immediately.

Judge rules against California

California judge blocks policies hiding gender changes from parents

A federal judge has slammed the brakes on California’s controversial push to keep parents in the dark about their own children’s gender transitions at school.

In a sweeping decision, U.S. District Court Judge Roger Benitez ruled that California’s policies violated the constitutional rights of both parents and teachers, barring state and local education officials from enforcing secrecy-based rules on student gender identity changes, as Blaze Media reports.

The lawsuit, originally filed on individual grounds, grew into a class-action suit by October 2023. It came to represent other educators and families who said they suffered under policies they viewed as both unethical and unconstitutional.

Judge Benitez agreed, delivering a full summary judgment in favor of the plaintiffs and halting the enforcement of these so-called “gender support plans” that deliberately cut out parents from life-altering decisions.

Benitez was confirmed by the United States Senate on June 17, 2004, by a 98–1 vote. The only vote in opposition came from Democrat from the screwed up state of Illinois, Dick Durbin.

2 educators fired for opposing transgender advocacy in schools

'Free to express opinions'

Oregon district pays $650,000 to settle with educators who objected to trans lessons. Schools 'can't retaliate against speech simply because they disagree with what's said.'

An Oregon school district has agreed to pay $650,000 to settle with two educators who were punished, then fired, for speaking out against the injurious transgender agenda the district was adopting.

The trans ideology as promoted by Joe Biden and his administration for years includes giving chemicals to children to delay puberty, then doing mutilating body surgeries on the child.

"Educators are free to express opinions on fundamental issues of public concern—like gender identity education policy—that implicate the freedoms of teachers, parents, and students," said Mathew Hoffman, of the ADF, which represented the teachers along with the Pacific Justice Institute.

NIH and Research Grants

Court Rules Harvard Gets To Keep Skimming 69.5% Of Every NIH Grant Dollar

What's with our courts?

The United States, with a national debt that now rivals its GDP, continues to borrow money to subsidize a research industrial complex that serves less to advance science than to enrich America’s most gilded academic institutions.

The NIH, responsible for distributing almost $50 billion in research grants annually, has morphed into a pipeline not for discovery, but for institutional profiteering. It is a model that is both economically unsustainable and morally indefensible.

Let us begin with the grotesque mechanism through which these funds are distributed: Facilities and Administrative (F&A) reimbursement rates.

Every university negotiates its own rate with the NIH, a bureaucratic haggle that produces outcomes so inflated they would make a defense contractor blush. Harvard University, the wealthiest academic institution on the planet, with an endowment surpassing $50 billion, extracts 69.5% in F&A costs on every NIH grant dollar.

That means when the NIH sends Harvard $100 million for research, nearly $70 million is siphoned off for campus operations and administrative overhead, none of it tied to any specific scientific inquiry.

University of West Florida

Boosting a Communist Witch Hunt

Some Florida Republicans even participated in a Communist Party-connected smear campaign to block three of Gov. Ron DeSantis’s January appointments to the University of West Florida’s 13-member board of trustees.

Students for Socialism and Party for Socialism and Liberation activists at UWF helped create and amplify false claims of “controversy” and “bigotry” with 200-person protests against DeSantis appointee Scott Yenor, according to USA Today.

Yenor is an Idaho professor, prolific scholarly author, and policy hand with a history of facing student protests for publicly stating basic truths such as men and woman are different, feminism hurts society, and family is more important than money.

The Party for Socialism and Liberation is a “revolutionary communist” party that urges “a revolutionary overturn” of capitalism and backs feminist gender theory, according to its website. So Yenor’s many public statements supporting marriage and sex differences triggered protests and false accusations from Marxist students, media, and UWF faculty. Thanks to weak Republicans, their witch hunt worked.

Appointee Adam Kissel, a former Trump administration official, lost his committee vote 5-4 on April 22 Thanks to Gaetz (the punk) and Republican Sen. Jennifer Bradley voting with Democrats. Gaetz represents Pensacola, where UWF resides, an increasingly purple locale that strenuously opposes making college work better for students and taxpayers.

Executive Order on deporting Anti-Jewish Activists

Trump orders review to identify, punish and deport antisemites — including students on visas

WASHINGTON — President Trump signed an executive order Wednesday instructing federal agencies to identify “all civil and criminal authorities” available to combat antisemitism — including finding ways to deport anti-Jewish activists who violated laws.

The order, first reported by The Post, requires agency and department leaders to provide the White House with recommendations within 60 days and outlines plans for the Justice Department to investigate pro-Hamas graffiti and intimidation, including on college campuses.

“Jewish students have faced an unrelenting barrage of discrimination; denial of access to campus common areas and facilities, including libraries and classrooms; and intimidation, harassment, and physical threats and assault,” the order says.

“It shall be the policy of the United States to combat anti-Semitism vigorously, using all available and appropriate legal tools, to prosecute, remove, or otherwise hold to account the perpetrators of unlawful anti-Semitic harassment and violence.”

ACLJ files petition to protect kids from porn in school libraries

Petition seeks court order protecting kids from state-promoted pornography in schools

'At no time has the U.S. Supreme Court held that the First Amendment protects the inclusion of this type of sexually explicit material' in libraries.

The American Center for Law and Justice is stepping up its fight to protect kids in New York schools from pornography that leftist librarians are insisting on adding to their collections.

The organization has filed a petition in New York state court asking to overturn a decision from state education officials providing those books to children.

"As we explain in our petition, both federal and state laws emphasize the important role and compelling interest of public schools in protecting children from exposure to lewd and obscene content. Public schools and boards of education owe a duty of care to both parents and students to ensure that the curriculum and other materials provided to students are free of pornography and are age appropriate," the ACLJ reported.

"In fact, the United States Supreme Court has made abundantly clear that schools have a compelling interest in protecting children from inappropriate and lewd content," the ACLJ reported. "Once more, the court has unanimously held that a school board maintains the right and the power to remove such content from its schools."

DeSantis says "Satanism is not a Religion"

Satanists volunteer in Florida schools after DeSantis’ ‘more God in classroom’ bill

"Satanists are volunteering to fill vacancies across Florida schools after Ron DeSantis signed a new law pushing for more religion in education.

A state law went into effect last week allowing for “additional counseling and support to students” from outside organizations to fill staff shortages – including from religious groups.

The Florida initiative allows chaplains to serve as public school counselors as more states aim to embed Christianity into public school environments.

Without the bill, DeSantis – who was brought up in a staunchly Catholic household – said that “you’re basically saying that God has no place [on campus],” adding “That’s wrong.”

The Satanic temple’s leader said it was prepared to take legal action if Florida continued to attempt to thwart Satanists’ access to schools."

Some of you will remember when atheist Preston Smith gave the invocation at City Hall. This was back on December 2, 2014. The commission was so outraged that they all walked out after inviting him to speak. Chris McVoy was the only commissioner left in the room. Even atheist, Andy Amoroso walked out.

Back then, Preston Smith, whose father was a minister, taught language arts at a Boca Raton middle school, said he planed to display a 300-pound metal Satanic pentagram, sporting “One Nation Under Antichrist,” “May The Children Hail Satan,” and “In Satan We Trust,” in Sanborn Square in Boca Raton. The City got rid of that guy and he was never allowed to give an invocation again.

Newsom following DeSantis policy on school kids and cellphones

Gavin Newsom just promised to enact one law that had Ron DeSantis shaking his head in disbelief

No one has attacked DeSantis as much as Governor Gavin Newsom.

But Newsom is now copying an educational policy DeSantis put in place last year that MSNBC called “dangerous” and “authoritarian.”

As part of his Teacher’s Bill of Rights, DeSantis said educators should have the right to require students to leave their phones in a cubby during class hours.

“Why are these students on their phones during class all the time?” DeSantis said at the time. “They should not be always on their phones, being distracted from the lessons.”

And after spending the past three years attacking DeSantis, Gavin Newsom just promised to restrict the use of smartphones during the school day.

No Parental Rights in California School System

California Senate approves ban on requiring schools to notify parents of child’s pronoun change

Parents have no rights when it comes to their kids in California schools

School districts in California would be barred from requiring teachers to notify parents if their child asks to go by a new pronoun at school under a bill the state Legislature is weighing amid legal battles over the rights of parents and gender-nonconforming students.

The state Senate approved the proposal Thursday, which would ban school districts from passing or enforcing policies requiring school staff to disclose a student’s gender identity or sexual orientation to anyone else without the child’s permission, with some exceptions.

What was their goal? To protect students whose safety could be threatened if they live in unwelcoming households. Lawmakers approved the legislation along party lines after more than an hour of an emotional debate.

The bill now heads to the state Assembly, where it would need to pass in committees and on the floor before it can reach the desk of Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, whose administration has fought school boards over the notification policies. What a joke.

California school's newspaper praises Hitler

Public School Student Newspaper Publishes Quote Praising Hitler...Good Grief!

Wikipedia: The Holocaust was the genocide of European Jews during World War II. Between 1941 and 1945, Nazi Germany and its collaborators systematically murdered some six million Jews across German-occupied Europe, around two-thirds of Europe's Jewish population. The murders were carried out primarily through mass shootings and poison gas in extermination camps, chiefly Auschwitz-Birkenau, Treblinka, Belzec, Sobibor, and Chełmno in occupied Poland. Separate Nazi persecutions killed a similar or larger number of non-Jewish civilians and POWs; the term Holocaust is sometimes used to refer to the persecution of these other groups.

You have to wonder if kids are learning anything of value in public schools..no history, no civics, no truths?

Ron DeSantis prioritizing Education over Indoctrination

The State Board of Governors just handed Ron DeSantis a major victory over the woke agenda in Florida’s public universities

Ron DeSantis showed Republicans how to fight the radical Left’s stranglehold over our educational system.

He is forcing schools in Florida to prioritize education over indoctrination.

And the State Board of Governors just handed Ron DeSantis a major victory over the woke agenda in Florida’s public universities.

“All DEI and CRT bureaucracies in the state of Florida – no funding, and that will wither on the vine,” DeSantis said at the time.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs are Marxist in nature and focus solely on the race and gender identity politics of the radical Left.

Border Crisis affecting NYC Schools and Budget

Border Crisis Broke NYC School Capacity, Forced Back To Virtual Learning

"Amidst the ongoing crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border, the detrimental effects of illegal immigration on American cities are beginning to surface. The recent decision by a New York City high school to go completely virtual to accommodate over 2,000 illegal migrants is a clear indication of the disastrous consequences of the Biden administration’s lax stance on border control.

The decision to temporarily close James Madison High School in Brooklyn and convert it into an overnight shelter for illegal migrants was announced on Tuesday."

Mayor Eric Adams continues to ask Biden for help but he has been ignored. We have a $12 billion deficit that we’re going to have to cut – every service in this city is going to be impacted,” said the mayor.

Actually, Biden has turned a blind eye to every citizen of America!

And Hannity has finally moved from New York to Palm Beach but at least he brought his politics with him.
