Teamsters boss Sean O’Brien cast his Florida ballot for Republican Sen. Ashley Moody, a break with the left that drew sharp pushback from Democrats and union critics.

Fox News reported that International Brotherhood of Teamsters General President Sean O’Brien announced over the weekend he had voted for Sen. Ashley Moody, R-Fla., and was proud to endorse her.

O’Brien, a self-described lifelong Democrat who leads one of the nation’s oldest and largest unions, framed the choice as about pensions, jobs, and apprenticeship programs, not party labels.

Moody faces Democratic nominee Angie Nixon, a Jacksonville state lawmaker whose platform is considered DSA-aligned, with polls set to open nationwide in a matter of hours at the time of the announcement.
