Trump's Tariffs are working

Goaded by Tariffs, European Pharmaceutical Industry Pivots to the US

Analysts say drugmakers wouldn’t risk a disadvantage in the United States, the world’s biggest economy and pharmaceutical market.

The U.S. tariff policy and its unmatched pharmaceutical market are pulling European drugmakers to invest more heavily, from new manufacturing plants to U.S. stock listings and discount pricing deals.

Since early 2025, European drugmakers have stepped up their U.S. presence. In the most recent move, the United Kingdom’s giant AstraZeneca announced on Sept. 29 a direct listing on the New York Stock Exchange, just months after pledging $50 billion of U.S. investment by 2030.

The UK-headquartered Indivior dropped its London listing in July to trade solely on Nasdaq, while Swiss giants Roche and Novartis unveiled U.S. expansion plans in April worth $23 billion and $50 billion, respectively. France’s Sanofi has likewise committed at least $20 billion in American projects through 2030.

The moves reflect both the pull of the U.S. market, which accounted for more than half of global prescription medicine sales in 2024, and the push of political signals from Washington.

Following the Sept. 30 deal in which Pfizer agreed to cut Medicaid prices to match those in other developed nations, Swiss lobby Scienceindustries said other European firms may follow with similar “mini-deals.” Director General Stephan Mumenthaler told Reuters he expected announcements “one by one in the coming days and weeks.”

Reuters take on the Economy this week

YORK, Sept 5 (Reuters) - DOW ended slightly lower on Friday

Bank shares were among those taking the biggest hit, with the S&P 500 bank index (.SPXBK), opens new tab ending 2.4% lower.

However, Broadcom (AVGO.O), opens new tab shares rose 9.4%, helping to offset market losses, a day after the chipmaker unveiled a $10 billion artificial intelligence chip order from a new customer and forecast fourth-quarter revenue above estimates.

The U.S. economy created 22,000 jobs last month instead of an estimated 75,000, confirming softening labor market conditions, according to the Labor Department report. Part of the problem in fewer jobs being created in the U.S. is due to a combination of factors, including the Federal Reserve's efforts to combat inflation through higher interest rates. And of course, there are fewer illegals working.

The three major U.S. stock indexes initially rose and broke records following the data, as traders of futures tied to the Fed's policy rate boosted bets that the U.S. central bank will trim rates in quick succession, starting this month, with a 50-basis-point easing now on the table.

"It's going to take more than one bad data set for us to dislodge this market at this point," said Pete Mulmat, CEO of IG North America, parent company of tastytrade, in Chicago.

For the week, the Dow fell 0.3%, the S&P 500 gained 0.3% and the Nasdaq rose 1.1% and Democrats continue to scream like crazy as they blame Trump Tariffs on everything lately.

Stock Market up

Stock market leaps upward after better-than-expected jobs report

From CNBC: Stocks rose on Friday as Wall Street digested a better-than-expected nonfarm payrolls report for April, which eased recession fears and put the S&P 500 on pace for its longest winning streak in just over two decades.

The S&P 500 advanced 1.6%, a move that placed the broad market index on track for its ninth consecutive day of gains. If the index closes higher, that would mark its longest winning streak since November 2004.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 575 points, or 1.4%, and the Nasdaq Composite gained 1.7%. With Friday’s gains, the S&P 500 has now recovered its losses since April 2, when President Donald Trump announced his “reciprocal” tariffs. This comes a day after the tech-heavy Nasdaq accomplished the same feat.

Payrolls grew by 177,000 in April, above the 133,000 that economists polled by Dow Jones had anticipated. That figure is still down sharply from the 228,000 added in March but much better than feared after recession worries grew last month. The unemployment rate stood at 4.2%, in line with expectations.

Marc Cuban condemns Kamala Harris' Ecoomic Plan

Marc Cuban Sends Grave Warning For Market Place If Harris Wins

In a shocking revelation, billionaire investor Mark Cuban has come out strongly against Democratic nominee Kamala Harris and her economic plan.

Speaking on CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” Cuban declared that Harris’s proposal to raise the capital gains tax rate to 28% would “kill the stock market.”

Cuban, who initially endorsed Harris and is part of a group of over 800 venture capitalist investors and tech leaders, had this to say about Harris’s tax plan: “If you tax unrealized gains, you’re going to kill the stock market, right? And it’s going to be the ultimate employment plan for private equity because companies are not going to go public because you can get whipsawed, right?”

This startling revelation from Cuban highlights the potential catastrophic effects of Harris’s plan on American citizens and businesses.

He even shared a personal experience where his net worth was high, but his money in the bank was low due to unrealized gains. Under Harris’s plan, Cuban would have been forced to borrow money and potentially put his business at risk just to pay his tax bill.

Our Financial Market

We Are Witnessing One of the Greatest Financial Market Crashes in History Right Now

As the 10-year Treasury yield reaches 4.8%, a level last seen just prior to the 2008 financial crisis, it is apparent that this same pattern of behavior is repeating itself.

Bond prices are decreasing as yields rise, indicating an impending crash in bonds before stocks follow suit. This development serves as a reminder of the fragility of the economy and the need for caution when investing in high-risk markets.

We have been warned time and again that high interest rates could have a devastating effect on our economy, and now we are beginning to see that reality take shape.

Banks are facing unprecedented levels of unrealized losses, with the recent increase in bond yields driving this number even higher. The situation has been compounded by the soaring mortgage rates reported by Freddie Mac’s Primary Mortgage Market Survey; the average rate for a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage is now 7.49%, up from 7.31% last week and 6.66% a year ago, while 15-year mortgages averaged 6.78%.

The Mouse's House, the Worst Year

Disney Blindsided Again! They Got A Whole New Problem They Never Saw Coming

The company relocated many employees from California to Orlando, Florida, during the pandemic due to coronavirus restrictions. However, since the move, the company has been hit financially because of its woke agenda.

And, The employees they relocated during the Pandemic from California are refusing to leave (can anyone blame them?) and have no plans to move unless they are forced. They are firing 7,000 employees.

The narrative is that Disney is fine and Florida is going to fall apart without them. In reality, Disney is joined at the hip with Florida (whether they like it or not) and now their employees want to stay despite left groups claiming the state is dangerous like the alt-Left NAACP.

Reports show that The Walt Disney Company lost $123 billion in market value in just the past year as its stock price closed the year down 44%.

Biden gets nothing right

Eric Trump Reveals Big Prediction His Father Got Right

Actually, it is more than one prediction

In an interview Monday, Eric Trump boasted that every prediction his father made about what would happen if Joe Biden won the White House has been proven correct.

In an interview on Newsmax’s “Greg Kelly Reports,” Trump said his father warned that we’d have $8 gas if Biden was elected. “We have $8 gas,” Eric Trump said. Eric said his father had predicted runaway inflation, crumbling stock markets, and a loss of worldwide respect for the United States. “And guess what?” Eric added.

He said the 79-year-old Biden “gets nothing right,” not Afghanistan, not any foreign policy. “He can’t ride a bike correctly,” Eric added.

And the news media is finally reporting the truth on this.

Hypocrite Pelosi

Getting rich on inside information?

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi indicated Wednesday that she would not block a bipartisan attempt to ban members of Congress from buying and selling individual stocks, a position to which she personally opposes.

The House speaker criticized the Supreme Court’s ethics requirements, claiming that any financial reform would have to be “government-wide.” Lower federal courts are bound by ethics rules legislated by Congress but the Supreme Court sets its ethics and disclosure rules. Prominent liberals, most notably Rhode Island Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, have claimed that the Court’s lack of disclosure rules allows it to be controlled by right-wing dark money.

Pelosi personally conducted up to $30.4 million worth of stock trades in 2021, according to her ethics disclosures. According to the financial analysis blog Unusual Whales, Pelosi’s trades had the sixth-best performance of all members of Congress, and the best among Democrats. In particular, Pelosi exercised call options on Microsoft stock in March, less than two weeks before the U.S. Army announced a nearly $22 billion contract with the tech giant.

Democrat under investigation regarding stock trades

Democratic Rep. Under Investigation for Possible Criminal Actions

In 2012, Congress passed the STOCK Act, which prohibits lawmakers and other federal employees from profiting off of their positions.

Specifically, they’re not allowed to use nonpublic information to decide which stocks to buy and sell. One Democratic congressman is now under investigation for allegedly breaking that law.

It's Irrelevant, says Nancy Pelosi

Pelosi Calls Her Insider Trading Million Dollar Tesla Stock Buy ‘Not Relevant’

Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was called out for her very profitable insider trading Tesla stock deal that she made shortly before the Biden administration released plans to make the federal automobile fleet electric.

Tesla stock has been a darling of Wall Street for years, and the company, as well as corrupt members of Congress, stand to reap huge profits if the federal government mandates that their 645,000 car fleet be overhauled to only consist of electric vehicles.
